BIKES ARE BACK! - Full Bike Racks at Walmart - My first in-store Walmart visit in 2 years!

- The past 2 years have been tough for budget bike shoppers. Walmart bike racks have been empty, and personally, I haven't been inside a Walmart in over 2 years. I've relied on curbside pickup and online shopping. It also hasn't been pressing since, on top of the stock levels there haven't been much in the way of new releases - new budget big box bike releases.
Today I strapped on my mask and selectively hit the least busy time I have observed and was in the store at slightly after 6am. To my joy the racks have ample bikes!

Every time I hit a Walmart since hooked on this channel I'm looking and the racks for Kev's bikes.
The excitement in your voice is nearly Christmas morning level for a kid 😂👍
Decathlon is a massive worldwide big box sporting goods store based out of France. I worked for them when they made their 1st attempt at entering the US market in the early 00's in Massachusetts.
That crashed & burned in 2006, mainly because upper management wouldn't listen to the Americans about how to function in the US market.
They made fantastic bikes then, too. I still have my 2005 Rockrider 9.1 full suspension 26er. Still a great bike.
They have a flagship store in CA that I'm assuming functions as a loss leader & storefront for their online business.
My mind exploded when I saw that Rockrider in a Walmart in your video. They must REALLY want their products to enter mainstream America!
Almost bought the ST520 on Walmart website, but balked at the $50 shipping charge. All other bikes of interest shipped free so I couldn't understand why the Decathlon (which according to the site also shipped from Walmart) had an additional shipping charge. Must be their margins are a lot tighter on these 'higher end' bikes.
Happy days are here again. Let the upgrades begin......
The only tapers at my SoCal store were both AL Comps and a Boundary. Had to replace 26"s with Blackburn MTB tires (so far so good). Needed 26" tubes, but the Goodyears started leaking, so far, The Bike Shop ones are holding up. Replaced grips with screw on Blackburn's, working well. No e-bikes. :)
Love your project bikes keep up the good work and content I'm currently working on a project axum of my own
I have a bad feeling I'm going to be a couple hundred bucks poorer if I walk into a walmart and they actually have that Mongoose dirt jumper in stock
Or a Ledge X2 online (which is what I'm looking for).
I wouldnt do any dirt jumping on a walmart bike.
@@iriqouisplisken5640 why?
Looking good!
Ive seen a few ebikes the hyper erides and some of the commuter style ones. excited to see the new hyper full suspension
If you purchase a bafang mid drive kit, you can get the Wal-Mart bikes and have several new ebikes each year. If you are hard on bikes like me, try the 24 inch wheels. They are much stronger. Like the Cranbrook, I rode that one most of the summer last year
I like and agree with you, "any bike you can ride and enjoy is a good bike". 👍 Walmart around here have those bikes you mentioned for about 6 months, but now it's thinning out, empty racks every store. Also carbon x 29 have some light changes. Hyper have changed the holes design (no grommet) and locations for those internal cable routing holes. Rerouted the shift cable to the left (they drilled an extra hole), and left the right side hole empty for nothing. Still no pre-drilled holes for internal dropper...
Thanks for sharing
My local Walmart had an Axum and a ledge x1 and a couple of other bikes so it is very good that you can actually go into a Walmart and pick up a trail worthy bike.
I've noticed more bicycles on Craigslist and Facebook marketplace I've been trying to sell a 2021 Trek verve for $300 less than manufactured retail price and haven't got any hits. I think the bike shortage is coming to an end. Another great video always enjoy your channel. Press on in the good work.
Same here. A Kent 29 Inch Mountain bike.
I just bought a hyper e ride from Walmart website. Happy so far. Got it for $398, then noticed in a day or two it was back up to $698! Just check in every so often. I guess with all the supply chain issues the prices fluctuate regularly! Anyway, thanks for the great videos!
Rockriders are very common in Europe.Decathlon make and sell them.Trey have a large selection of bikes-from cheap to expensive. The model that you show costs around 200€ in Europe also.I also ride a Rockrider and it is awesome bike
Even GMBN approved of Rockrider bikes
such a shame there's practically no Rockrider reviews online, except for the really high end ones, considering how popular they are
Just got the Mongoose Grit a couple of weeks ago based on your review! Did a first impressions video of it. Very happy with it.
Congrats on the new bike!
Got my Al comp a few weeks back, was at Walmart today and had a few Schwinns and the Ardor as well, have already done quite a few upgrades to my Comp
I bought a Schwinn Copeland just to get back into biking. It'll be donated to a garage sale soon now that I'm better edumucated thanks to channels like this. :D
Still have my Zander!! Runs good!
First Walmart visit in 2 years??? Sheesh! We are in there, spending too much money on crap that we really didn't go in there for, multiple times per month! I wish that we could stay out for that long! LOL!
Great to see the bike merch back! Looking forward to new vids!
Kevin stopped going to Wally World since he joined the 1 % thanks to all that you tube money.
😂 💰 💰💰😂
Great vid bud!
My sister purchased the "trail runner" durning covid shutdown. She used it to tow her son. He was like 5 at the time I believe. It has held up and no issues. She paid $89-$99. For that price she has no complaints.
Thanks for sharing. Always good to hear a budget bike success story
Up here in Northern Ontario Canada, the racks are fully loaded, along with the aisles. It was like christmas all over again. I was doing cartwheels! And left with a spinfit 700c in satin black and blue from Hyper.. Which I think is Kent but the Canadian version?
Anyway loads and loads of bikes up here and bike stuff. It was great.
I been watching your videos and got interested in the boundary and found my local Walmart had 3 of them. Watching berm peak I decided to buy a used one and work on it myself and do a “flip bike”. The boundary was increased to $350 in my area so I bought one used for $150. Thanks for your video on the boundary!! I really love my new bike 😂
I can tell you this from experience, those slime scabs tube patches are great , they saved my butt many times , I always kept a small air pump and slime scab patches on my bike & my trusty Kryptonite u lock ( which I was surprised) that wal mart sold Kryptonite products ( quality bike locks ) Wal mart does have good bike accessories, I can say that , even bought my flashing lights there , everything on my bike came, from wal mart ( except my gloves & bike rack)
I can recommend the Kent Margaritaville 3 speed cruiser. Ours is excellent.
nice I went there today and got some tools so I could do some of the upgrades from your videos.
I was at our local Walmart and saw a black Schwinn MTB, it had disk brakes front and rear, but what too me aback was the 1x… it ended up being an Axium (sp) What a bike! Too bad it’s a 29.
Please keep checking out the new cruisers!
Hey Kev, I understand that feeling of having to shop somewhere indoors. My unwillingness to risk illness was enough to keep me away (even with a mask) from public settings for an excruciatingly long time. I had no choice but to enter a Walmart around last summer, because I was given a unique shopping list; however, this was before I knew about the commendable progress Schwinn et al. had made with their budget bike offerings. Now I'm curious to look again and see what I find there.
Here in my city there are no e-bikes in our store. However, I was in Duluth, MN (3.5 hours away) a few weeks ago, and their store had five of them displayed at the beginning of the bike aisle.
It's like being a kid in a candy store even better.👍👍
Spotted the new Kent Trouvaille in my Walmart, what a surprise that was. It's not one of the larger Walmarts either.
At my local WM....I have seen the Axom and the AL Comp... that's about the best they've had....few other ones but those were the best
The Blackburn pump has been clutch when I'm at the trail parking lot and away from my compressor.
Wow! That’s awesome to see all these great bikes in stock Walmart. Let the fun begin. Kevcentral, do you if there is any new Detroit Bikes coming out? It’s nice to see bikes made in America again. Detroit Bikes will be a catalyst for a manufacturing renaissance at least for the bicycle world in The USA 🇺🇸
I haven’t heard from Detroit bikes since not long after I reviewed the US Cortello. I hope to hear from them again at some point. They make great bikes
I don't Know about in Store but Wal-Mart Online has quite a Few E-Bikes mostly Entry Level . I purchased a Samebike Brand 350w E-Bike in 2021 for around 900.00 shipped and after a Year of 12miles plus a day Daily Usage the Motor finally started to Go...I was Ok with it considering the Miles & Original Price and Got a Replacement Motor for it at a reasonable Price :) and am Confident I can Get another Years worth of Clean Air and fresh trails along the Coast here in California by Hearst Castle. Thanks for the Video's/Reviews&Info..long time Fallower/Fan/Fellow rider
My Walmart was pretty low on bikes 🚲 but I did buy a 26” sidewinder on roll back for 198 has two wheel disk brakes not sure if that’s new or not.
My Walmart bike section is empty. Went to a near by town and it was packed with bikes. They had a $698 carbon frame bike. Plus a few 29ers I was looking for but not the kent. They were around $300-400
I’ve seen it all: Hyper Carbon X, Hyper EBike, Hyper Explorer - both flavors, Decathlon, Schwinn Axum, Boundary, Taff, Al Comp - both flavors, Copeland, Glendale, Mongoose Ardor, Ledge - both flavors, Genesis Saracino. Bought the Huffy Rockridge for my son.
The racks at my Wal-Mart where pretty empty but I did walk out with a grey 24in huffy rock creek bike for $130. It's not bad. It has potential. I'm going to fix it up and make it way good.
Rockrider st120 is the same bike but with mechanical discs. St100 is equipped with terrible vbrakes, but if you swap them for some better ones, it will be pretty decent cheap bike
Yeah, they have a few good bikes there.
Heck yea! I saw an ebike at Walmart in Fl for under $600. I bought a Schwinn Boundary for a great deal pickup as I moved & left a Trek & Giant back in NY. Do you have a recommendation for hybrid tires for the Boundary?
The factory tires are far off from being hybrid tires 😂
You gotta review the Decathlon with both brake sets.
Saw a Comp in my local Walmart a while back, had to do a double take.
At my local Walmart last week there were two e-bikes from Hyper, but the regular bike section was not anywhere near as full as yours.
Thanks for sharing
I just bought the Schwinn al comp yesterday, $297 all together & that's with water bottle & holder...it's the only one they had
Congrats!
All the walmart's around me in new jersey fully stocked. I see an few e bikes every now and then. I think they are returns , but they are in the rack and for sale. About a month ago I got a schwinn taff for 95 dollars. I think it was sitting outside for a while so they marked them down. There was another guy in the store and we both got one. It's a really nice bike. The shifting is a little off but I'm working on it. I might make it a one by I really don't need all the gears. I leave it in 7th gear most of the time and I can climb any hill.
Thanks for sharing
It's been quite some time since I've been in our local Walmart. However, I do need to get there soon, because they have the Schwinn branded, fingerless gloves that I like. Mine developed a hole last week. Aaaaannnddd, I need spare tubes because used my last one today. However I did look online and E bikes are 3 day shipping only.
Dude is your immune system compromised? I haven’t worn a mask in a store in over a year!
The one I shop at has a few adult bikes, but mostly kids bikes. Pretty slim pickings.
Thanks for sharing
And they jacked up the prices big time.
That’s what I noticed too
Have you ever looked at any of the bikes at Target, in store or online? Seems like they have a decent selection, especially the Kent bikes.
First, great content as always. I absolutely agree that any bike you enjoy is worth it. I picked up an Ardor and an AL Comp (Seamist Blue) for me and my wife a while ago.
I new bike caught my eye at Walmart yesterday, a Kent in fact. It’s a Kent Trouvaille, a 29er hard tail. It looks to have some decent specs. It’s got a Sun Tour fork, MicroShift Advent 1x9 drivetrain with a cassette, internal cable routing, disc brakes, and what looks like a tapered head tube. Unfortunately It didn’t have a hole for a drop post and the “lockout” on the Sun Tour XCM did little to stop the compression of the fork.
What are your thoughts on this bike, and any chance of a project with one?
We have 3 ebikes at our Walmart one is a hyper emtb like bike the other 2 are cruisers but they are pricy so they probably won't move, been there for a few weeks.
Hi do you have some more reviews on the priority 600 ?? thank you

I went bike shoping at Walmart and got the huffy, Rangeline
I'm French and in my country 80% of bike out there are Rockrider... i'm very surprised to see a Rockrider in your video from USA ! :o
Please do the Durham 29in been thinking about this bike for a while
Walmart has had some pretty good pedal bikes with Fat Tire and the 27.5 plus one's I prefer with wide tire balloon 🎈 that will eventually POP after 2 years 😀
My local Walmart never has anything in stock… Maybe it’s because it’s summer time? I have no idea, however every Saturday & Sunday there are no adult bikes, such as those Schwinn’s or Hyper.
Ours are full too, but haven't seen the good ones i.e. Axum, Ledge, Ardor, et al.
Haven't seen much (adult bikes) in any of the 4 Walmarts within a 30 minute drive yet. Made a trip to one 2 hours away last week because it showed 2 Ardors on the floor on the website (I called and they they said "I'm standing here looking at them" before I left home....) and I've been wanting one, so I get there there's none and their in store system showed they'd both sold before Christmas. Frighin Walmart, smh. 🤣
No e bikes at my Walmart, much better stocked than before, but not yet up to the previous normal. Maybe they're scared to have the e bikes stolen, you know how brazen shoplifters have been of late!
The E-Bike is most like sold online in the Wal-Mart website.
A kn95 3 months ago?
Mine has very few ebikes in the store, but they do have some. I bet they are just “testing” the market to see if they sell in store or not.
my local walmart had 5 29er hyper Carbons on the rack.
my local wm has a genesis bohe gravel bike that's fairly tempting.
Same here. I looked pretty hard at it though it sounds like it might be on the small side for my 6’2.5”…
Normal ish ? I think it's depending on where you are. My local Walmart in Monticello Minnesota is about half stocked. And that's pretty good
Thanks for sharing
I hope they're about to release new models
No Walmart since 2020? N95? Where you shopping? California? New York?
Alabama
@@KevCentral thanks for the reply. Looking into riding again
maga loser
Prices on them are soaring, the old Kent Baysides used to go for $120 but now they're going $200
Still waiting on m size axum dp to come back to stock 😭
I got one of those blue Cranbrooks yesterday and my local Walmart. I love it but going from 21 speed to 1 speed is killing my legs lol
Good for increasing leg strength. I bought a blue one a couple of years ago. Replaced the tires with white walls, makes it stand out. Have a bike shop properly lubricate the internals.
@@apache-yaquibrown4060 I have really been enjoying mine. I have just over 20 miles on it. I think I will do an update video on it tomorrow. I considered putting narrower tires on it, I have several laying around and I think they will give it lower rolling resistance.
Stopped there last night. They had an Al Comp that looked to be a returned bike. I may go see if I can get it at a low price.
I saw one that the bearings were hanging out of the head tube!
It was probably just showing off
Paris IL had 10 EBikes yesterday
Sorry to change the subject, but do you know if anyone is making a quality budget-priced rigid mtb fork? Have you thought of setting up a budget fully-rigid singlespeed mtb as a project before? I'd like to convert my old Trek 4300 (2010 model, it appears) to something like that and I have no idea if I can trust some of the stuff I find on Amazon like a Bucklos rigid fork.
I don’t know about the quality on budget rigid forks. I like my shoulders too much to find out 😁, but jensonusa has some name brand rigids
I'm 6 feet 5 inc&es @200 lb . I like the 24" size bike because I can keep on riding up inclines compared to a 26 inch bike . There is a significant difference. I purchased for 98 dollars 3 years ago . It has disc brake on the front.. I can't imagine rim brakes as an alternative though I have a 26 inch bike with only rim brakes similar 24 inch bikes at Walmart are going for 260 dollars , spring of 2022. . Too much for me for a manual bike and so I'm looking at an. E bike at , who knows what price category $700 maybe or maybe a conversation at $500 suggested by the Gold Guy video on a 1500 watt conversion
Thanks for sharing
0:44 Look at those crankarms at the connection point to the pedals. If you have a death wish, yes buy that.
Favorite Walmart MTB: Boundary vs Al. Comp?
I like both, but Project Comp is one of my favorite bikes
Rockrider is great but seeing the ones you showed with rim brakes they don't exist in my decathlon store it's disc brakes only.
Thanks for sharing
Get a juiced new rip current s so much fun got 230 miles on mine already been less than a week
works on a 2018 Harley Trike
Bike stock levels in Calgary Alberta Canada are pretty good right now...but big time overpriced for what you're getting. They sure have gone up in price! No e-bikes at Walmart here yet.
It’s probably because all the container ships that were waiting for months to dock finally came in!
I’m not looking to buy a bike, but I have noticed that bike prices have gone up and it’s funny because the roll back prices are what the regulator prices were before the shortage. lol
I still have to look into converting my 16 Specialized Rockhopper into a 1x instead of the 3x, everything else is good. I’ll have to watch your videos again and again. lol
The racks here have been overloaded since last fall Haven't noticed any E-bikes at the local store, but that's normal. After waiting nearly 2yrs, I picked up the AL Comp I'd been wanting last fall, and it's stayed in stock all winter.
Thanks for sharing. Where is ‘here?’
@@KevCentral The stores in Potsdam, NY
Kitty says meow.
Hey Kev Central I'm a great fan and supporter from Alaska I've been trying to get the lectric e bike but shipping is not allowed here how would I go about getting that
I assume due to shipping costs. Have you asked them about a shipping quote to Alaska?
Edit: and thanks for watching!
I have not but I'm going to get on that see what's going on with that I love your view on the lectric e-bike I love your positive energy and when I'm having a hard day I just pop on your video and everything's okay
I have already had covid twice. Nothing to horrible. The 2nd time took much longer to recover
I personally know multiple people that got Covid and didn’t make it, so it shouldn’t be so easily dismissed
We have E Bike s in Walmart in Ontario Canada but the prices are crazy. They start at $ 1800 bucks, We don t get the schwinn Bikes either, On line only and here they are $700.
Thanks for sharing
Walmart here on the island have very little variety of adult bikes and the prices for them and the bike accessories are sadly through the roof!
Thanks for sharing
I also wanted to mention at the time of this video airing I was looking at a ebike at Walmart it was a 26-inch next light blue in color I don't recall what the price was but I thought it was just the fact that I could probably put that money towards something different meeting more I also thought the pricing was too high for that product
If you think of it it's just crazy that you can build a bike, pack it, ship across the globe, pay all taxes and tariffs and still sell it for a profit. At a sub $ 100 mark.
Makes you wonder why anyone would buy a piece of garbage like that.
@@MichaelRei99 Its pretty simple.. Not everyone has plenty of money.
❤️
Enjoy seeing bicycles at the local shop. Problem is; almost 77% of what they’re selling is E-bikes. And they’re the very good ones that cost $1,500 and up.
EBikes are only going to become more prominent parts of the bike lineup
Bike Stock Levels in Oklahoma are good! I haven’t seen at ebikes at my local Walmart. What annoys me is the large amount of Walmart bikes outside Walmart that are just cooking in the sun and getting sun damage. I don’t know why anyone would buy one not from inside the store.
Thanks for sharing
Most people who buy bikes from Walmart don’t know anything about bikes.
You don't have acums there? Mines had 10
Wow. I’ve never seen an Axum or anything of that caliber in any of the regional Walmarts. Do you live in a more affluent area?
They definitely needed to roll back the price on the Rock Rider bikes....way too much for rim brakes and a twist shifter
