You should read Raja Ram Mohan Roy’s letter to the Asiatic society arguing against the Gurukal system and in favour of a Western education. I think we went a little too Western but we cannot deny the benefits of learning from others and we should always endeavor to do so in the future. This romanticized view of the past is what has taken Pakistan down the toilet. The Muslims suffered because they insisted on sticking to the madrassah system. The rest is history.

Unless you remove Article 30 of the constitution we will never be a truly secular country where all religions are treated equally. Thanks to Bakshi Sab - Saraswati Valley Civilization was a mavellous reality that has been intentionally omitted in pages of history book.
I had some elder relatives in the INA led by Netaji who were never inducted into the Indian Army after we attained independence. They lived a life of indignity and pittance as the then ruling political party branded them as antisocials who in the name of INA created disharmony in the society. The British massacred INA POWs in thousands in an area called Neelgunge, near Belghoria in the suburbs of Kolkata which none mentions. There are similar brutal incidents that happened in Budge Budge, near Kolkata during the Naval rebellion.
What a slap ( Thappar ) To romilla or karan ... their surname sounds like it for a reason. Their name should not start with a capital latter. Shameful low lifes they are ... History is not likely to be ever recorded absolutely objectively. In spite of great intellectual honesty a certain amount of authors' bias is bound to creep in. History can never be completely comprehensive too. It will contain more records that align with authors bias. But one thing is for sure, this bias is likely to more pronounced in the historians who champion the cause of those who did not participate in India's freedom struggle. I think that should be quite obivious.
Thanks for the detailed information on Indian history. I use to wonder why all the education ministers of India from 1947 to 1979 were Muslims only . I now understand that historians like her and ill-educated politicians were the cause .
