    Thank you for the video. I have had TMD for the last 11 years, and up until recently I have managed the symptoms through the use of a night guard. Unfortunately, that has stopped working recently and I am suffering daily migraines. Do you have any suggestions as to what my next steps should be.

      I would recommend seeing a TMJ Dentist. If you’d like to discuss this further you can set up a Zoom Meeting with me by emailing patientcare@tmjdentaldoc.com

    Hi !! I am having jaw muscle spasm, tenderness below ear and jaw but I am able to open and close my mouth. The joint and disc is all fine. Can this happen because of erupting last upper molars ? There is pain in upper teeth.

      I suppose it could happen with upper molar eruption but it’s not common.

      I discourage sleeping on the back. Any other position is fine as long as you’re not resting your hand directly against your jaw.

    I started using a CPAP in the same month I got a wisdom tooth extraction. I started experiencing moderate to severe TMJD symptoms ever since that month (no known jaw issues my entire life before this). Ive been able to get the pain and symptoms to subside for a few months at a time, then they return. Do you think my CPAP could be causing these issues? I always figured my right TMJ was injured during my wisdom tooth surgery.

    • @droidean
      @droidean Před 2 lety

      I only experience pain on my right side, and my CPAP only goes under my nose and I don't wear the mask overly tight.

      It's been about 16 months since that surgery and starting CPAP use.

    • @theTMJdoc
      @theTMJdoc  Před 2 lety

      I don’t often see that CPAP is the cause of pain. Have you seen a tmj dentist or tmj physical therapist?

    • @droidean

      @@theTMJdoc I did, shortly after the surgery. She gave me a sheet with some stretches. I have had my symptoms return twice since then. Many of the stretches are the same ones you talk about on your channel. Is it possible wisdom tooth extraction messed up my bite??

      I don't hear of that often. Having said, that inflammation is inflammation. If the body is in an inflammatory state in general, this can be in the jaw or the intestines.
