I’ve been dealing with something for like 2 weeks now. It’s causing my anxiety to go thru the roof. First off, it started off with what felt like a toothache/gum pain near my back molar on my right side. I let it go for a few days and just cleaned the area really good with brushing/mouthwash and salt water/baking soda. The one day like 2 weeks ago, I was eating, and I felt like a tingling, numbness feeling up the side of my face near where my tooth/gum was irritated, and my face swelled up. I didn’t know what it was, I went to my local urgent care and they gave me Penicillin VK to take for 10 days because they thought and I thought it was an abscess tooth. I went to my dentist and I asked if he could take x-rays of my mouth. He couldn’t find anything wrong on the x-rays. He said it may be a salivary gland stone or something else with my salivary gland. He said I should reach out to a ENT doctor. I have an appointment with my primary doctor on Friday, but over the years, I’ve had mild symptoms like headaches, body aches, shoulder aches. Random aches throughout my entire body. I actually got tested for Lyme Disease and tested negative. I also have sleep apnea and got treated for that. Also get bad acid reflux and I have semi-high blood pressure. Are these all symptoms for untreated TMJD? Right now as I’m typing this, I still have the tooth/gum pain, and I have pain in that joint under the ear lobe and I have what feels like fullness in my ear especially when I eat anything solid. I’ve been living off of yogurt and Mac N Cheese for lunch at work lol can’t forget to mention, I have an overbite and my bottom teeth are crooked. When I was younger, I used to have a black lab, but the one day, I got loose and away from him while I was waking him, and I tried to grab his leash, but he knocked me over. The leash wrapped around my arm and I couldn’t get it undone and he dragged me into a tree and one side of my face. I think it was the right side got all scratched and bruised up. Like really bad. I looked like Harvey Dent/Two Face for a few months, but could something like this cause TMJD even if it was like 20+ years ago? By the way, the symptoms feel like they’re feeling better, then they start acting up again. Is this common too?

I have tmjd for 3 years now. The symptoms are really tiring, the first symptom for me is vertigo and of course jaw clicking that never goes away, then stabbing pain near the ear, fullness feeling in ears, after sometime headaches come in, then tingling in lips, face and fingers, stiff neck and shoulders. During those 3 years I had like 6 flare ups, during my 4th flare up I was convinced that I shouldn't move my jaw much so It could heal, but I was completely wrong, because of not moving and stretching my jaw, after sometime I could open my mouth only 2 cm and the opening was really painful, I visited many doctors, one of them suggested that I undergo a surgery, but he wasn't sure if the surgery will help me with the symptoms, so I didn't do it. After that I just tried acupuncture which relieved my symptoms for a few days, but didn't solve the limited opening of the mouth. So I tried exercises that I saw on CZcams with wine corck and it really helped me, I did those exercises everyday and slowly I could open my jaw completely and after sometime the symptoms went away. Now I am writing this during my 6th flare up, because I clenched my teeth really badly and all the symptoms came back again so I am sucking my wine corck again and writing this comment😂. But at the same time I have an impacted wisdom tooth on the same side as the popping in the jaw, somehow I think it could cause my tmjd problem but the doctor says that It can't. At this point I don't know what to do. I am just convinced that I have to live with this for the rest of my life and just wait till this 6th flare up get better and I will protect my jaw from any jerky movements.

Ever since I had my molars extracted in 2018 I have been suffering from TMJD. It has been getting worse and worse as time goes by. I get really bad jawlock when I yawn or open my mouth too wide. I get a lot of migraines and usually they come from the side that my jaw is hurting. I kept thinking for the longest that I must have a root canal or my dentist was just not doing a good job at looking for something in there that is causing my gums pain. I get a lot of pain in my lower gums usually and I feel like my teeth are loose but when I went to see my dentist, he reassured me that my teeth are fine and he did not notice any loose teeth. I went to see my PCM recently because I have been noticing a lot of tinnitus and vertigo symptoms but after running labs and a physical check up, everything came back normal. I was convinced I was going insane and maybe it's just genetic or maybe I am just getting old but after watching your video, I realize that there are others out there with my symptoms and this thing I have been experiencing actually has a name (TMJD). I will have to set up an appointment with a local oral surgeon to get a consultation. Thanks for the video. I subscribed and will be watching all of your other videos. Hi Priya,
my symptoms started with lower back issues/ sciatica and then pain in the shoulder, scapula and tingling sensations in my fingers of the right arm, the pain travelled through the whole arm, I simultaneously had tingling and pain in both my ears and eyes, and now I am having toothaches and unresolved RCT, I have jaw pain as well but very mild, accompanied by 3 wisdom teeth irrupting. It's all very confusing now. I have consulted several orthopedics, neurologists and physician, and everyone says there is no cause for my pain. Can I be experiencing TMJD? My dentist has been telling me for quite some time that I clench and grind my teeth while I sleep. When I was there about a month ago, they told me to start wearing a night guard to help with the clenching and grinding. About a week later, I started having ear pain, jaw pain, and a sore throat. I thought I had an ear infection or a sinus infection and went to see my doctor and was told I have TMJ disorder. They checked me for Covid and strep throat just to make sure I wasn’t sick and said my ears and throat looked clear and that the ear pain and throat pain was caused by the TMJ. Is sore throat and pain near the clavicle sometimes a symptom of TMJD?

What about a hot, burning sensation in temple area? I haven't been diagnosed, just researching. I've have headache/Eye ache behind left eye only...pain and discomfort in jaw/face and pain in neck, also a tooth pain but not sure which one exactly. This has been going on since 2020 after I had some dental work done. I've had an MRI and showed nothing. The only thing I don't really have is jaw popping or locking. It could in the future but heck, I stay in so much pain, I would probably go to the hospital if that happened. The hot burning sensation is new, thats why I asked about it. Neurologist diagnosed migraines but this isn't migraine...I've had those all my life. I'm at my wits end though

My jaw won’t open as much as it used to and it often hurts to chew, sing, and sometimes to even move. My face often feels numb. Since the dentist had told me that it was perfectly fine for my jaw to do this, it’s gotten worse :((. ( he was actually a oral surgeon). Before visiting the oral surgeon I visited a dentist that said it WAS tmj, but the oral surgeon said he was completely wrong. I literally can’t wear headphones because it hurts so bad, I don’t have to have music playing in them they just hurt period. When I put scarfs and bonnets on it hurts, even though they are not tight, I also get eye pain and just facial pain in general, and sometimes scalp pain.
