I have one of these. Occasionally the output jack develops connection problems affecting the sound. I keep an eye open for these, though, because the sound quality is decent - better than brand-new products offered for sale in 2021 - and they tend to be inexpensive.

I bought this one in the mid-1990s, used it to listen to mixtapes while riding subway. I did not have pre-recorded cassettes at that time, so did not care about Dolby. In my experience, single-direction models of this family tend to have slightly better wow&flutter numbers than autoreverse models.

I just got one brand new and I love it, I don’t understand how the sound has some bass and the Walkman itself has no feature to apply more base amazing cassette player of course from SONY 👍👍👍👍

The FX101 does not have Mega Bass. Those models that do have like the FX315 increase both bass and treble, so the sound is more "meaty" and more "bright" at the same time. I find Mega Bass very useful when listening to rock, house/trance and hip-hop.

I have a WM-FX101 as well as a WM-FX290, which was the last Walkman model on the market (2004 until 2010). The FX101 is a better-sounding unit, the motor is stronger and can play nearly all tapes without problems, and the WM-FX290 has a big design "oops!": the single-cell battery compartment cover usually won't stay closed, so you end up having to use cellophane tape or a rubber band to keep the battery from falling out. If you're looking for a commonplace and relatively affordable Walkman, the WM-FX101 is a really good choice.

    How much you pay?

People used to throw them away. Fifteen years ago they were $3 in thrift stores. I bought this one back in 1990s. You can find one for $15 or less on eBay. There is a business that sells "refurbished" walkmans like this for over $100, I would never pay this much for a basic plastic walkman.
