Great videos. great quality. getting me motivated to find a great work environment like yours once I'm out the military. shout out from an F- 22 mechanic!
Love having your aviation videos back
Haha thanks Tyler! I need to get another one out in Compton
I'm not James but I'm reasonably certain I can answer that for you. When he mentioned the various timeframes, that was in reference to the different ways you can obtain your A&P certificate. 18 months is the general length of time required for the tech school path (trade school, vocational, etc...) whereas 2 or 4 years would be at a community college or university. In other words, you would obtain an actual college degree (associates or bachelors) at the end of your program. 30 months *I think* is the experience requirement if you go on the job training with someone who is an A&P, and then you would test for your A&P afterwards.

Spot on Brad!
Brad MacDowell
Thanks for the info,
But James Sullivan has told me 3 days ago ^_^
Thx...
Love the videos! Always watching as I study for my A&P through the air force. Digging the music too man
Thank you for your service!
I'm an a&p in arizona and I love watching these videos man keep it up
James back at it again with Aviation!😊
hey man you gotta get the videos rolling out again!!!!
I'm a SWA Mech and I really enjoy seeing the small turboprop stuff 6.Keep up the nice work.
I interned at SWA and it was one of the best summers of my life. Do you know Paul Mart? He works for you guys and we went to college together.
I started my Aircraft Maintenance Technician program 3 days ago at the Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Dallas and my whole class was asking where to find videos like yours and I showed them your videos and we watched them on the projector today so I just got you at least 25 more subscribers! Thank you for your awesome, Inspirational and super insightful videos man!
Oh and I'm glad you made it back safe from your vacation!
Thanks for the love dude and good luck with your studies. Let me know if there's anything I can do for you or your classmates!
James Sullivan No problem man I'm just repaying the favor since your videos helped me out a lot. and Thanks dude! I know for sure I'm in the right field now, and I might need help later on I'll let you know man!
Love the videos! Keep it up! BTW, can you please make longer Vlogs on working on the aircraft (maybe head cam or something).
Looking forward to more maintenance videos. I've shown all of them to my class and I've had people asking if there's more lol
badass I'll keep them coming
Awesome video! I am laughing my ass out with the "not, my, fault" and "gear up, flaps up, shut up"
I think your travel videos are as good as your aviation videos. It looks like you and your brother had a good time. I also think it is really cool you have passion for the work that you do and enjoy your job/career.
Thanks Steven, that means a lot to me. You are right, I love my job :)
Awesome!
Beside loving your videos about aeronautics and Pilatus which I love..., you have incredible sounds and music!! Tell me where I can download them starting at 1.50 loving it! Thanks
"Their Component" "The Hardware" makes it seem like its a top secret device... love it.
You like that? Hah I wasn't sure how much I could say about the company or the mod so I was trying to keep it low key.
I've been watching your videos and they are not only informative, but fun! I'm headed to A&P school in September. Any suggestions on informative reading to prepare myself? Any reason for choosing private over commercial? Keep up the great work and vids!
Dustin Lievsay start reading some basic electricity books. you can also get the general, airframe, and power plant jeppeson text books.
Coolest job in the entire world sorta 🤟 3 years later
Hey James, can you talk about it now? Was it an autothrottle system?
First time viewer like your video. Just wondering where you got your education was it
Embry-Riddle?
Yep, Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach. Glad you enjoyed!
James. I am looking to change my career into becoming an A&P mechanic and get my senior parachute rigger license. It is very very very difficult to become a professional pilot and its very difficult to get a job as a major airline dispatcher.
I've noticed that you have a mix of older PC12's and a few of the what appears to be NG versions with the five blade props.
Have you noticed any other changes between the aircraft?
Also interested in your thoughts about the TBM850. The Pilatus has too high of a ramp weight for my local airport and I'm looking to upgrade from my 340A to turbine to get away from avgas. I also like the Garmin displays.
Gunga we operate all PC-12/47E (NGs) with glass cockpits. The five blade was integrated as a serial number improvement not a model change. it's notably quieter and a tiny bit faster. they also made small speed mods to the airframe with the late serial numbers including a flush passenger door handle and more narrow flap canoes. all new PC-12s will have the five blade prop. unfortunately I don't know enough about the 850 to offer an informed comparison.
Thank you.
Having looked at Pilatus's website, it appeared that the addition of the 5 blade prop and other enhancements precipitated the name change to PC12NG.
Nice 2016 model at 4:43. How efficient are all these tiny aerodynamics improvements such as the built-in door handle on the passenger door ?
Flying VFR at 1500ft that's on of the best perks of the PC12 awesome sensation when behind the controls ;)
P.S. 3 bars = You do Everything ;)
Clément my understanding is the get about 5kts faster in cruise and maybe also a bit more efficient. I think the biggest difference is the noise reduction.
Careful promising boat race footage, quiiick update, may not actually be able to race in it, might help start it. 3 day race and I fly out on day 2. Lots of underwater footage, snorkeling, checking out sunken boats in the harbor and I might go scuba diving (rental gear only $20!) I would check out those boats more in depth or find some cool coral. Last minute traveler bought plane tickets home too quickly and don't think I will be in the race (subject to change if we find a racer who is skipping Sunday Funday)
Dude you should start vlogging too! Miss you in the vlogs...
Shaan Yeat Amin Ratul you are too kind, I will send James some footage but would need to raise some funds to buy myself a worthwhile camera before I started up my own channel. Could be cool though, I try to keep my life interesting
Your life definitely seems interesting and that would be cool. Hope you get a camera soon, and do come to Bangladesh if you ever get the chance. Also you guys have a great bond between you brothers.
Bangladesh isn't a country that was really even on my radar, though I had recently been wanting to make it out to Nepal and India. When I make my way out there I will be sure to stop by and see what it has to offer! Me and my brothers (4 of us) are all really tight, love spending time with them and was psyched for a chance to travel abroad with James recently :)
Great! Feel free to hit me up if you make it to here, we have few nice places that you might find interesting. Yeah its great to see you guys like that. Best of Luck!
James, what's with the bag of fasteners attached to the floor panel at the 3:54 mark?
the out board panels are secured with screws rather than cam locks so those are the screws for each panel. another crew is putting those panels and the rest of the interior back since I had to run. I just closed the floor up to keep anything from getting under there
Saw a 5 blade on the pilatus I think much better than the 4's?
Looks nice, also quieter and a little faster
Do you keep a spare set of tools on every plane incase something needs a interior emergency fix?
Nope - it would be far to costly. Instead we do lots of preventative maintenance when we have the aircraft at our hangar and if something breaks in the field we can usually defer it per our minimum equipment list and repair it next maintenance convenience. If something really breaks hard in the field we get to go on a road trip!
What kind of light bar is that? I've been looking at picking up one.
Astro 40SL it's about $50 on Amazon
cool man thanks!
Hi James did you film anything else wild in Cuba and what happened to your brother 😁
Tito, nothing else that's CZcams worthy ;) we had a blast though. Lukas is in Tortola right now then he will be going back to Boston to live with my older brother for a bit.
Hey James, I'm an avionics tech, out of curiosity what new system are you installing, if you can tell us?
James Sullivan cool, just had a look at it, it's a pretty tiny package, should be able to fit in those mounts quite easily!
Awesome videos!
BTW, Name of that song in 7:22?
Thanks Erika! It is Brewski by Bonus Points - soundcloud.com/bonuspoints/brewski
i wan to be a mechanic but im afraid to fly , what if something goes wrong :o ?
We have so many cam locks on my plane it is a 177 RG aka cardnial
Cardinal is a great bird!
i dont speak the english a 100% but imma try my best man is just my dreams
What do you use to edit your videos?
And how do you get it uploaded so fast?
I use final cut pro x and I just edit as soon as I'm done filming
Sweet thanks !!! And as far as my question about uploading, I was more interested in how you can upload a 10 minute video in that short of time. When I upload a video of that size it takes like 23 hours.
Make sure you follow Google's best guidelines for exporting videos in a format intended for online streaming. That and obviously a good internet connection. A 1-2gb file takes me 1-2 hours to upload
Come visit Canada my dude, if you haven't before
I've been a couple of times, it's beautiful. I really enjoyed visiting Toronto when I lived in Detroit. What part of Canada do you recommend traveling to?
Personally I would say British Columbia it is the most beautiful place I've ever been I have an aunt who lives out there. But I live near Toronto so if your ever in town say so and we can get a beer 🍻
Will do!
Where's the new upload, we miss you 😂
posted ;)
no veo chicas nunca...👾
What happened to Vincent?
Jim Hal :( I liked when he was in the vlogs.
He is killing it as a night shift lead right now. Hopefully he will be back on days as a lead in the next couple of months.
Sweet thanks for the reply, Love the Vlogs! Especially the travel vlogs!
Glad you enjoyed. I have some from my trip to Africa last summer on the channel
