Ms. Rachel you are saving marriages everywhere… ❤️
Your Momma was correct! The metal spoon will react with the acid of the tomatoes and the salsa will have a metallic taste
That’s right, my mom told me about that as well. Tomatoes are acidic , therefore causing the metallic taste. But now most spoons are made with stainless steel.
Exactly 🤙🏾
I make homemade salsa constantly and metal spoons never made it ever taste metallic old wives tale FYI..I’m a cook and a baker
@@SuperTamig now most spoons are stainless steel, they used to be made out of low quality metals.
I’ve heard that but we’ve always used metal spoons and no metallic taste! I love all kinds of salsas!! Thanks for sharing!!!!
You are a jewel. Ron is so lucky to have you in his life.
I just wanted you to know that I made your "Everyday Salsa," and it is a staple in our home now. It is so easy to make, we always have the ingredients, but it is hard to keep track of when I need to make more. I am constantly hearing the echoes of my family throughout the day: "Is there any Salsa left" "where did all the salsa go" and "Mom, you need to make more salsa." As I said, we don't know how we ever lived without it.
I googled why not use metal utensils when making the salsa. Basically it's because the metal reacts with the acid in the tomatoes and makes a bitter salsa. Now we know!
I LOVE watching you cook! And your recipes are so good! My husband passed away recently and you are helping me get thru this loss because trying your recipes keeps me busy! He was a very picky eater, but he loved your food! Thank God I found your site! Thank you!
Hi Rachel!
I don't often comment, but I just had to this time.
You don't know this but you have truly upped my cooking game 😁
My skills as a home cook are excellent because of my grandma and some of my friend's mom's or grandma's too. But with you sharing your skills and teaching step by step my skills have gone through the roof!
Thank you Rachel. For giving precise instructions, caring about your viewers, and your love of cooking... and last, but not least, thank you for sharing what you know. 🥰
Lol yes mine too!!! My husband loves it!!!!
Same here and I'm 69...😮😮.
Rachael I think the metal spoon probably refers to the "olden" days (😂) when some were made of aluminum or silver, which would definitely alter the flavor.
Stainless steel will NOT affect the taste at all.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes and making us feel at home in your kitchen.
Yummmmm
I made this I only put 2 Serrano peppers and tomatoes wow that was delicious.I’m addictive now with home made salsa. Thanks for this recipe.🌺🌺
I use wood spoon or plastic .I follow your advice.
Always smiling 😊 ❤️❤️
Love your pour pan. Salsa looks great going to make.some. I use wooden spoon.
Thank you for doing these recipes with us all. Love you...Mary
Love the pot with spout.
Yummmmmy🌮🌮
I like all the recipes you make you making from most school from scratch that's what I like keep up the good work and I hope you make more new videos
Your fantastic
Your mother was correct, you never use metal spoon in your canning jar. The jars are made for canning and a small tap with metal can cause them to break or chip. Love your shows, Jo Ann from Mississippi
Mrs. Rachel, your mom most likely did not recommend using a medal spoon to insert inside the glass jar because if you drop the medal spoon to hard or in time (base on the thickness of the glass jar) it can break.
As a person who does canning, I too am very protective of my glass jars!
Love you delicious recipes and wonderful videos; please continue to produce more!
Najes total sense, thank you for sharing.⚘❤
I just came across this video & ran out to buy pozole & Your pozole salsa ingredients.. This salsa is MUST with pozole.. Thank You so much for sharing.. 😋
I just started watching your videos and I am hooked! My husband are from Colorado where Mexican food is real and feels like a part of family but we moved to Oklahoma City and it's just not the same here so Im doing my best to find the most authentic recipes for our family. You make real recipes feel less intimidating and I can see how much you like to cook and to teach. I'm so grateful for teachers like you on CZcams. I wish I had had a teacher like you in Culinary School, I think you would have really inspired me.

Watching you cook, reminds me so much of my Mother in law and sisters in law who taught me how to cook Mexican food, before they passed on. Such wonderful memories.
Good morning , my sister just send me your video , she made both of your salsa she said they were both very delicious , and very easy to put together she told me to try them ,
and I did they both are so delicious I'm having them with my scrambled eggs I want to thank you so much and I will keep watching your videos.
I'm in San Jose California P.S I enjoy the way you explained everything detail by detail. Thank you.
We have hundreds of Roma tomatoes still producing in our garden. I am so blessed to have found your video.
I started watching your channel, and subscribed this past August. I had to stay home from work for a few days because I was caring for my parents.
I'm just now getting to comment and tell you how much I love your videos. Your love for cooking and the joy it brings you is evident in your videos. Thank you for sharing your gift with us. You're such a lovely person.
I love to cook and just like my mother and grandmothers before me, the kitchen is the heart of our home.
I live in Oklahoma. I too love aprons and enjoyed the video you shared of your apron collection!
Thank you so much for sharing my friend, I'm happy to know that you enjoy my channel, thank you for your support. Aprons have always been something I love and I'm glad you love them and cooking too. There is always so much happiness in a home that has alot of kitchen activity I think. Blessings to you in beautiful Oklahoma. ❤️
@@rachelcookswithlove I agree. Even if I wanted to take a break from the kitchen, my family would protest. Lol. But there is deep satisfaction from it! Thank you for responding.
Thank you Ms. Rachel for sharing. You take the "scary" out of Mexican cooking. Not near as difficult as I've always imagined.
Thank you again.❤🌷
❤
THIS! Woman that I LOVE!!!
I like the first one, it seems it's not, hot! Going to try it.
Who needs Google when you have Rachel? (and her mom) who knew way before the internet why to not use a metal spoon in your tomatoe dishes. One reacts with the other, it puts a tinny taste into your salsa or spaghetti sauce. Its the little things that make great cooks. Keep making us all great cooks, Rachel. God Bless.
Must make your salsas 😋😋😋
Rachel, I love, love, love your recipes you put on. I'm so sorry you were ill and so thankful you are so much better and back on with your wonderful. and delicious. You explain every thing so well. All your recipes are so delicious Thank you so much. .

My mom also said not to use a metal spoon with glass. More so to keep away from breakage.

Hi Rachel! I just found you on CZcams a few weeks ago. I’ve already tried many of your recipes and I have to tell you they are ALL delicious! My family absolutely loves your recipes, and so do I! The first recipe I tried of yours was the albondigas. It was excellent! I’ve tried your mole, enchiladas, beans, your sopapillas and other dishes. ALL WERE FANTASTIC! My father was from New Mexico, and when we visited we ate the sopapillas which were delicious! So thank you!
I love watching ALL of your recipes, I have learned so much, you are a very blessed young woman. Thank you for being YOU
Thank you Rachel!! You've demystified Mexican food..made it looks so easy! My family will love, love, love this yummy homemade salsa.
I love your show.
All I can say is you blow me away each and every time with your recipes!!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!!!
Hi Rachel. I made the Everyday Salsa...TOTALLY DELICIOUS! I made it exactly like you did in the video. I think my Roma tomatoes were a little smaller than yours, so the 1 tsp of Salt was a little too much, so, as I was cooking it on the stove top, I added a little more water so it wasn't so salty. Next time I will find larger Roma tomatoes, or if I can't find larger, I'll add another 1 or 2 smaller ones. Thank you so much for this recipe. I'm a Salsa Lover...can never have enough Salsa! This recipe has EXCELLENT flavor and taste! Thanks again! .......Rob.......
Rachel I could watch your videos all day long! Such a pleasant delivery you have. And a wonderful cook!
Love the way you explain everything ❤ your a wonderful teacher.
They both sound wonderful
The flavor of the first salsa is very good but i thought serrano peppers were mild. Aye chihuahua! My lips were burning for an hour. I remade the recipe using poblano peppers and it is more my temperature. I love trying your recipes.💕
I am a canner and have always been told not to use metal in the canning jars because they can cause small cracks in the glass that are not detectable . Whenever I put a jar of my homemade applesauce on the table always use a plastic spoon.
My Serano peppers are always hotter than Jalapenos, where I live. I live in the UP, in MI. Thanks Rachel for the delicious recipes!
Looks good
Plain and simple, I love you!! Thank you.
These two salsas are what I've always wanted to learn how to make. I'm so excited to make. Thank you Rachel!
My. Sons new wife is Hispanic she buys all her things pre made. She does not cook at all. I ask her and she said her mom never thought her. I learning more from you than she will ever know I try to teach her but she is not interested. So I thank you so much. Everything is so good. Also how does your garden be
So becautifuk? It is just like you.
