thanks Matt, I appreciate the breakdown of pros and cons. I agree, nowhere is perfect, but that list of cons isn't so bad. The transfer tax is the shock, but like you said, overtime less property tax will offset that and you'll probably be better off depending on how long you stay.
Thanks Matt. Some where I heard your water bill can be pricey ..... Is that true? Thanks for all you do! 😊👍
Sewer in Sussex county is the same for every home, roughly $85/quarter. Water depending on usage, mine typically runs about 100-150 billed every other month, depending on how often I’m watering plants & stuff throughout the summer
Great information and insight! I might have to move to Medellin and live comfortably in a $1000 a month.
great video
Thanks!
I am from Northern Virginia. The cost of living is much lower here. I also love the traffic patterns on the back roads.
Hey Matt, I have to disagree to a point with you on the gas prices. Your regular gas prices on your last video was $3.75 and our gas prices on average is in the ballpark of $3.99. Of course, I don't know when you shot the video. The only exception to the gas prices is we e15 and e85 gas and right now, they are $2.99, which I didn't see that option in Delaware.
The expense that shocked me is car registration, as initial registration from out of state is 4.25% of the cars value. That is a shockingly big number.
The other shock is propane! My community has metered propane, but it's still almost $3 a gallon. We are about to move into a new house that has natural gas, which is pretty much we had in NJ. The costs are a fraction of propane.
Many communities are working on switching to natural gas, but you are right, propane typically runs about $2.50-$3 per gallon & if you’re using a lot it can add up quickly
@@MattLunden We are in Sawgrass now and they have been threatening it forever, but never did. So happy that Osprey is natural gas. It will be like I got a raise! :)
Passive income! 🤣
Ugh I do hate HOAs. They keep rising and are sneaky that way. I seek an old but sturdy house. How are the “inland” communities?
Just depends on where you’re looking
That’s the info i need to know where to start looking 😂. Okay, I guess I’ll have to do the work. It’s kind of difficult when you live 2,000 miles away. 😅
Would be tough to make recommendations off of just 1 comment without more context other than an old house. Happy to discuss more if you shoot us an email at CZcams@Lunden.Group
