- Ja Morant is still waiting for a potential punishment from Adam Silver after he was caught flashing what appeared to be a gun on Instagram Live. According to a report from Claudia Jordan on The Breakfast Club, someone from Morant’s group said the gun was a toy that was passed up to Morant from the backseat. Nick Wright, Chris Broussard, and Kevin Wildes react to the report.

FUN FACT: If you rob a bank and it is later discovered the gun you used was a toy...you STILL get charged for brandishing a deadly weapon and for armed robbery. The ONLY detail that matters is that those you robbed BELIEVED the gun was real. Ja Morant is a mo--ron of epic proportions for this lame, juvenile excuse. BTW, ask Tamir Rice what terrible consequences waving a toy gun can bring you.

Why is everyone comparing breaking your jobs policy as breaking the law? Make it make sense
@@kingsmitty2043 Because mental midgets like yourself who likely make minimum wage or slightly more, cannot understand the gravity of a guy making tens and hundreds of millions--committing stupid acts such as what Ja has done. You only understand extreme examples. It is called using storyboards to explain simple concepts to the "critical-thinking challenged". The contract he signed has a morality cluase. Ja broke it. The Grizz could void his entire contract and then win in court when he foolishly sued them. Here is some more perspective for you. What if Ja had gotten stopped by the cops that night for whatever reason--and cops saw that "toy" gun and felt threatened--and it led to Ja being shot and killed? What would you say then? Would you still see NO correlation between his acts and the law? NO, of course not. You would blame the cops for Ja's stupidity and cry racism. Again, you are amental midget and I have already spent way too much time on you--so you are summarily dismissed.
As stupid as it is and it goes against NBA policy, he didn’t commit a crime. As far as Tamir Rice that was the fault of the dispatch not conveying that the gun was probably fake and a quick to shoot officer. Neither apply here.

We get why he’s doing it. But it’s completely stupid to do at this point, because up until now all of his actions showed it was a gun. The apology, sending himself to a “rehab”.
So him lying at this point is extremely obvious and extremely insulting. And they can ban him for a toy, because of the “optics”

Chris Broussard doing everything except holding Ja accountable for his actions. Nick is 100% right
Bru clearly says he thinks it's a real gun, so not sure what you are talking about. He's talking abut the hypothetical situation if this was a toy. Nick isn't 100% right here, because if it's a toy (as doubtful as that is) the Union will fight the league on this, and if it goes to court the NBA will probably lose.

This should be the final straw for Adam Silver. He pretty much gave Ja a break after the first occurrence with the short term suspension.
Nick is right, Chris is wrong! If the NBA doesn't suspend him for the "toy gun" even if it is a toy, they may as well market all of their products as 18 and Up beacuse most importantly it's about the actions that kids are exposed to by their "heroes" that influence them and will be seen as such by the public!
yup, all about the intent.. shows he didnt learn anything.. but you know what Forrest's mom says....
Facts💯 - Chris trippin’
You are putting more on Ja than on the legal system of US, or Tennessee in this case. That doesn't seem right. Let's say it is a toy gun and someone else filmed him with it, the idea that you think that the man should still lose their livelihood seems way off. This is a bit like how people are mad at golfers who joined the LIV tour, but are fine using Saudi gas in their car, with our government being close allies and the fact that most American companies gladly do business with them.
The hypocrisy is pretty crazy.
@@andrewshandle Has nothing to do with toy gun or not.. he signed a contract that his player's union authorized stating he wouldn't commit acts that are deemed detrimental to the NBA.. has never been a gun or 2a issue..

It matters 0% if it was real or not, if you follow the line of thinking/ruling that the NBA are gonna pass down. It's about the perception of what Ja was doing.
it matters now. because if ja is now lying about his actions instead of taking 'full accountability' like he said he would, then it just got even worse.
Even if it was a toy, I'm with Nick. It should not change the punishment. Waving a gun on social media, is still actions detrimental to the league. Toy or not makes no difference, because in the video, there is no clear identifying marks that it is a toy. Also taking Ja's recent history into account, toy or not should not matter.
Yes! Thank you!

It is not this detrimental to league it is detrimental to black American who are screaming Black Lives Matter. Quote boys n hood . I smoke him before he rolls up on me and smokes me

@@loveblue2 yeah I agree it’s not his fault at all that he makes dumb low iq decisions
I’ve been thinking more and more about the Pacer incident. If we think it is more likely than not that a gun was present, Ja should never play another NBA game. You can’t have a player threaten (potentially worse) the life of someone associated with the league after a game. If I am an owner, I’m putting my foot down about that because “Kings owner shot by Ja’s friend, Ja charged as accomplice” feels like a possible future headline based on how unreliable and unable to change the guy has been. He has to be out of the league.
100% I don't know how this wasn't a bigger story.
@@juanvillarreal1834 the reporting made it very easy to overlook (partially because people don’t care about the Pacers), but the facts are horrible.
Very valid point. If you got into an altercation with a co-worker and after work you and your buddies flashed a red beam at them while they were on a bus, you would fired immediately. That's not even self-defense! You're creating a hostile and dangerous environment. 😂😂😂
Exactly this, this was by far the worst of the offenses and he should have been suspended the remainder of the season for that alone. This all just adds to it and he was being enabled all along.
The thing is, if you get into the details its not just someone "associated with the league" the report straight up said the laser beam was going out the window onto PLAYERS heads. aka Multi Million dollar assests for the league. Ja in so much trouble bro
This is a bad take from Brou. Regardless of whether it's a toy or not, the nba would be setting a very bad precedent for the league. All the players who would like to have guns or show them off would all just say that they're using toys and not real ones. Not only that, the league probably can't confiscate the gun and investigate deeper to see if it's real. If they allow this toy excuse to go through the cracks, it would put the league in a bad light that they would never recover from.
Hearing wilds talk about the breakfast club & the rumor report is hilarious 😂😂😂
I think Rob Parker was just on the breakfast club recently lol that was definitely weird
Wildes does a great job letting Chris and nick discuss with true dialogue without interrupting. He knows when to interject and when to let them cook
It doesn’t matter if it’s a toy, because it’s not an isolated incident. If it was then yeah there might not be any punishment, but the fact that there were all the prior stuff before hand that happened, and now he’s playing around with a gun, real or not…is just asking for trouble! Silver going to come down hard!
Silver is not going to come down hard. That's not his style. That's why Ja will do it again. 30, 50 game suspension, nah that's just more time to wave a gun and try really hard not to do it on camera. Ja's image is being cemented by Ja. Going forward, just because it's not on tape, you think he's not doing it? Really? He's just a half cent smarter (and millions more poor).
Everyone acting like the possession of the gun is the problem, it is but not more than the bad image and conduct detrimental to the league issue. The later is why he is in so much more trouble than the former.
As Uncle Junior would say, ya right and I'm playing short stop for the Mets
He never had the makings of a varsity athlete
Nick is right on this one. If he’s suspended, it was never going to be about whether the gun was real or not. It will be about the optics of it and unfortunately that applies whether or not the gun was a toy.
They tryna do everything to save this kid and he don’t wanna save hiself
I wouldn’t suspend him for the toy gun; however, I’d suspend him for being an idiot, and require him to hire a new PR team.
