they need the backup point guard for the regular season, not to beat the Warriors. Lebron and kyrie are playing way too many minutes which means they put themselves in a position to not be 100% for the playoffs, which is why a solid backup pg can help with the regular season. No but seriously the cavs do need more pieces like an actual big man and a back point guard. Nick Korzemba actually brought up a great point in one of his latest videos about how the greater an impact a single player has on a team the less likely they're going to win. Michael jordan had ALL the right pieces around him as well as being the freak of nature that he was. He didn't have to play almost a whole game to get it done.
Actually, Michael Jordan did play a lot of minutes to get it done; especially in the postseason. In fact, in one of his infamous flu games, he literally played almost the entire game while only getting a few minutes of actual rest, so I'm afraid you're dead wrong if you're trying to imply that Jordan played on a stacked team. Yeah, he had some solid pieces around him, but most of them were just good roleplayers that fit the mold of Phil's system. Nothing more.

A - the highest payroll in the league by far
B - the only team in the luxury tax this year, and they're way over the soft cap
C - a starting lineup whose payroll is larger than the **entire** payroll of 19 of the 29 other teams in the league.

MJ's 2nd and 3rd options (first Pippen/Grant, then Pippen/Rodman) are better than LeBron's 2nd/3rd options with the Cavs. I know Irving and Love aren't exactly chumps, but Irving is a ball hog and Love has become a 3-point loving former big man and both are defensive liabilities. Pippen, Grant, and Rodman ALL played ferocious defense even if they were as a group offensively challenged. And Jordan had a MUCH BETTER bench that what LeBron currently has. Jordan could go out for stretches and the bench could keep them in games or actually extend their lead. Freakin no-names from the tail end of the bench like DICKEY SIMPKINS and JUDD BEUCHLER would come off the bench giving the Bulls energy and lift! Lol When LeBron goes out of games, his team doesn't even know how to play without him on the floor.
