Great back and forth, no obvious attempt to antagonize someone else's opinions. Great segment. Felt like all three huge basketball fans just wanted to say their piece
Skip and Stephen A need to take notes.
@@caesar8875The difference is feel like the chemistry between these 3 works so well because they are genuinely friends off set. They actually like each other. Not saying that Skip and Shannon didn't like each other, but they aren't super close off set. Which was one of the reasons he left. As far as Stephen A goes, that's literally just how he is. Skip and Stephen A both.
You must be new to first take.... we love it here
@@geovanni348first take? Lol
Welcome to the show.
He still has starter level skills but he doesn’t have starter level health. He’ll be killer as a backup pg to run the second team
all they Need is Non Curry minutes and CP3 can do that. 20-25 minutes is great for the team and CP3
I dang near wouldn't be surprised if CP3 won 6th man of the year
@@Young_Dabwishful thinking 😂
@@reno-san87I mean, if he completely revitalizes the second unit and has an enormous impact on the season, it'd be totally possible! I'm super curious to see how it looks. We always struggled to change pace the last few years when necessary, ESPECIALLY with Steph off. Sometimes, when you get a big lead, playing fast can do more harm than good, cause it means more possessions for the other team. So having a guy who's gonna be in the hall of fame for slowing games down might help us nurse some leads so that even if a team goes on a run with Steph off, it's only a 6-7 point run instead of a quick 8-10 point run
@@greyklopstock7155I can totally see Cp averaging 13 & 8 coming off the bench
If you see this thanks FS1 for putting my two favorite analysts nick wright and Chris Broussard together on a show permanently. I've never heard Kevin Wildes before but he's a funny guy great addition

I got a feeling Chris paul going to in trade again in some packages for another players 😂
Ya...or get bought out to free cap space.
I'm definitely hoping so
@@ttmho96 but warriors traded picks too..... why not just buy out Jordan Poole?
@@abprepboy33 thats a 4 year dead cap vs no penalties for cutting chris next year cuz of his non guaranteed contract year.
@@DoesRocksFloat whyats your point? with wiggins, green, curry and payton they will still be way over the cap. might as well have depth
I wanted to hear CP3 response to Curry’s “this ain’t 2014”
Another trade is coming for GSW. Just can't predict what it is
That’s the only way this makes sense
Kuminga for either Pascal or Myles Turner
Kuminga alone only makes 9m. Not enough for Pascal, OG , Turner. He has to be in a package thats why i dont understant why he wasnt shipped with Poole and picks
James Wiseman for LaMelo Ball
warriors traded Poole for a corpse😂😂 what genius
Nick brought up a great point about getting John Collins or Myles Turner would've been much better.
Why would either Atlanta or Indiana want Poole?
Why tf would they get another teammate who can only jump and score layups ???
I think CP3 in pick-and-rolls with Kuminga, Wiggins, or even Draymond could be interesting, but other than that, he's going to have to handle the ball while the other players "run their routes" basically, and go for the score if the shot clock winds down.
You normally pick n roll with a big that can roll to the rim or you can't take advantage of the switch or a guy who can pop and shoot. Neither of those players are ideal pick n roll partners. Draymond is not a scorer, and there's no advantage to kumonga or Wiggins man switching onto cp3
@@TheinsideoutsiderI agree GSW needs a scoring big man.
Hes going to make the game easy to get open looks for Klay and Steph and Wiggins. They will be fine.
I think CP3 will play his role in GSW and not be a problem, he won’t play a lot of minutes and he’ll run the second unit, they won’t drop off as much as they did last year when Steph isn’t on the court, just my opinion tho
"Too help us clear up future cap space" lol just buy the traffic cone out
Brou finding any reason to start arguing despite Nick and Wildes both are echoing Brou's points. XD
i think he was shocked at how much all 3 of them agreed. He’s used to arguing 😂
Draymond green once said, when Livingston ran the bench they had 2 seperate offenses. With JP it’s motion offense all the time, which changed the normal strategy.
To wildes point about them not celebrating or being as happy publicly it’s because they’re giving away poole. It’s a weird situation where a guy in Poole whole clearly looked up to Steph, celebrating getting CP3 and finally getting rid of Poole would just send a really weird vibe especially since Poole is the victim in the situation and is the one that was expended
The difference is that Poole reportedly asked to be traded, golden state seemed relatively earnest when they said we will keep Poole
Poole’s extension hasn’t kicked in so they have to wait to make the trade official
No team would celebrate having invested so much in a player who proved to be a huge disappointment. He paid back GSW's faith in him by playing really shi**y non-team basketball after being given a huge contract

@@jaysonoweh2227 Is That English?
Turner would be an awesome fit for the warriors
My gut says Golden State keep him till the trade deadline. There are going to be teams with lack of playmaking trying to contend that might see CP as the last missing piece to winning a title and make a move for him. And if CP does come off the bench and plays lesser minutes, as long as he doesn't get hurt, teams might be tempted to believe that he could give them one full post season run. If not, he has an expiring expensive contract that teams might want to take up just to get some salary off the books before the second apron of the new CBA kicks in.
They’re speaking for a lot of us Warriors fans. We don’t quite get it either
Chris has a shorter contract plus non guaranteed final year so they can cut him for free.
Chris can actually lead the 2nd team and not turn the ball over.
He is literally better than poole even in his old age.
The limiting factor is his health. Which is gonna be the ultimate test for rick celebrini since he got otto porter to play 63 games for the Warriors vs 8 for toronto.
The lineup would be
C - Kevon Looney
PF - Andrew Wiggins
SF - Klay Thompson
SG - Steph Curry
PG - Chris Paul
I am going to be the only one to throw some enthusiasm towards this trade. One of the greatest point guards ever is going to play (in limited capacity) with the greatest off-ball scorer(s) of all time.
I am a little excited about the fit. Only caution for me is size and injury. Where the Steph/CP3 combo will be used sparingly.
Size is probably the biggest issue. And it's a *big* issue. (Punny). Joker, Giannis, Bam, Embiid, Victor, Adams... are the Warriors planning to win on straight offense? Draymond can't do it alone. Looney isn't enough either.
@@Panazoniacmate 3 is better than 2 that's been golden state solgon from since golden state is basically saying you will have to out score us to beat us and not many is going to out score golden state
@@Panazoniac They just won the championship a year ago with the same size. Yes, they struggle with AD but that series was also lost with the inability of Poole and Klay to hit a 3.
I do wish they had a Zaza time just to eat up the minutes. But they seem to be either unwilling or unable to land one.
Men when Shaun Livingston came in they didn't run fast they ran slow. They will just adapt when he is in the game
They are giving minutes to kuminga and moody. They Will be runned by CP3. Good move to mature those kids
Yeah CP3 can teach them up in NBA2K because it won't be on the court Paul will be in rehab.
Chris Paul will have no problem coming off the bench behind Steph. CP3 and Steph can even be on the floor at the same time their play styles actually compliment one another. I can see GSW making it to the Finals with a couple more additional pieces like a valuable Center.
Show is so much more chill now that playoffs are over and they don't have to prove themselves right as much. Either way, fun show.
I forgot about that “this ain’t 2014 no more” LOL
Face facts warriors window is officially closed and adding Chris Paul does very little to change that
You nailed it dude. I think their results will be similar to last year. They don't have enough assets to get bigger especially now since they gave Poole away for nothing. WTH were they thinking. And don't tell me to free up cap space for next year Steph is getting older need make good moves now not next year.
Shows saving me till Shannon's show is up. Thanks.
Think of it as Cp3(HOF) controlling the pace for 23-30 min a game and curry the other min. This will be a masterclass of getting dudes open
The locker room needed a voice to replace Draymond and perhaps even Shaun Livingston. According to Draymond, they needed a 6 man to slow down the pace for the 2nd unit. My guess is that Chris Paul is going to be here to stay and serve a role similar to Udonis Haslem.
CP3 will end up on another team by end of the season
Greens the problem, he may be a great player at what he does but he chases off Durant and then punches a promising young talent and now Poole is gone too.Maybe they should have jettisoned Green to improve the team chemistry. Guaranteed he and Paul go at it before the season even starts
Boom! You nailed it, exactly what I've been saying. They think they solved their chemistry issues? They may have made it worse. CP3 coming off the bench for his biggest rival Steph Curry? He's being reduced to Steph's backup? I'm sure he'll be thrilled with that. We all know he's had major attitude problems every where he's gone. Paired with a volatile Draymond Green? They got older, slower, smaller, and more injury prone. Gave Poole away for nothing. This was a horrible trade.
Good idea Nick, the Hawks would definitely take Poole for Collins especially since they don't have enough ball dominant, no defence guards...
Spectacular analysis as always
Yeah that trade doesn’t make sense but just didn’t like how you said no defensive guards cause Murray is as good of defender you can get at PG but yeah trae doesn’t and bad trade idea
Bro has never Hurd of a 3 team
Trade
Collins is actually a bad defender. Capela makes more sense
I remember watching these clips and only having 10-30k daily Views. Glad to see the growth no better sports show on cable networks currently.
I don't think people are looking at things correctly. If you look back the Warriors did the same thing with the Dangelo Russell. They picked him, up let him play, then used Russell to get Andrew Wiggins. I believe they will do the same thing with Paul. It would not surprise me to see Paul end up on the Lakers or in Memphis.
CP3 in memphis would be great for the Grizz
The only problem is and I see what you’re saying is that CP3 is going onto 39
The only problem is and I see what you’re saying is that CP3 is going onto 39
The only problem is and I see what you’re saying is that CP3 is going onto 39
CB must have forgotten that GSW was not fine when KD first arrived. Klay Thompson literally said "I'm not giving up shots."
This one looks a bit off. But they can figure out a way to make it work.
Cris Paul is running the point he’s starting, this move isn’t about needing Chris to score at all, it’s about letting steph do what he does best SHOOT, which he’s never really fully dialed into bc he runs the point
CP can't start .. GSs starting line up rn- Steph, Klay, Wiggins, Draymond, Looney. Who would u take out for CP? He n Steph are too small. They'll be weak defensively if they both start. CP has to come off the bench n run the 2nd unit if this is to work.
Steph always was always dialed into that because he rarely runs the point because Draymond starts the offense and move the ball lol it’s about freeing up money too resign Draymond and getting Poole away , Paul not starting
GW will have the smallest team in history if Steph doesn’t plau PG
No way 39 year old CP3 is gonna start on the Warriors. They don’t play that slow or play pick n roll. Both CP3’s wheelhouse. This isn’t 2k. CP3 can’t stay healthy, small, and can no longer defend. Time to be a backup.
The way the warriors play Paul can not to it at his age...CONSTANT MOVEMENT....THEY SHOULD TRADE HIM FOR A BIG
I'm not seeing how it's odd. They needed to get Poole off the roster and get a guy who was a one year in order to get money off the books. So they did it, and got a little better. Period. How is this hard to understand? I love these guys but I'm not following on this one.
Comparing Paul and Curry is like comparing Chuck and Shaq
As soon as I heard CP3 was a Warrior, I immediately thought: Finally, someone to keep the offense flowing when Steph is resting! If he takes that role and runs with it, we'll be in good shape, y'all 🤠
problem is.... chris paul has never shown he is interested in winning championships..... warriors like to win rings
He can also pair with Steph. They def have to limit his minutes until playoff time. People forgot Wiggins came back after missing a lot of games. They have to invest in a solid center to help looney
@@Redsun69813 i would talk to the lakers about a trade for Paul. Maybe Paul for a resigned austin reeves, mo bamba and hachimura. Lebron loves paul so much they might consider something like that.
Love CP3. Just was he would have went to another team! I don't like the Warriors!
I thought the same thing at first but it’s as simple as this: They’re pairing one of the greatest passers of all time with the greatest shooter of all time. CP is also injury prone so they don’t have to lean on him and can rest him for the playoffs. Getting rid of the Poole problem (selfish play, bad contract, and obvious chemistry issues 👊🏾) in the process. Brilliant move.
your screen name alone is worth a couple likes :)
I think it's funny how people think this is a great trade because they got rid of the guy with the attitude issue. So you pick up Chris Paul and you still have Draymond Green. Think about that for a second.
@@user-rr3fo6hy9q Now Dray finally had a teammate as big of a sicko as he is. Guys like Jimmy, Dray, CP, Rondo are great for winning. Also, most people don’t think this is a great trade. I do but I’m in the minority.
I think getting CP3 was insurance if they cant resign Draymond... if Draymond leaves then theyll still have someone to run the offense.
Steph might average 30 a game next year with even less ball handling responsibilities
This show is way better than first take no yelling screaming pushing fake narratives
Still glad for time of effort Chris put in for us when he was down in NOLA. I kinda just want him to go somewhere and have fun while winning a championship, He's earned it IMO.
EVERYTHING Wilds said on this episode is correct. Wow, nailed it!
This trio is good.
chris would roll with it and put in a few shows in the dub would be fun gelling this team even if for a brief time
CP3 coming off the bench would actually be fun to watch
6:30 CP3 and Steph know each other from North Carolina and their families are friends. They have a friendly rivalry.
Warriors need to go sign Brook Lopez, defender, rebounder & shoot outside the paint
I don't mind him starting but they def need to spread the minutes between the Steph and CP3. CP3, Steph, Klay, Wiggins, Dray. I think they can make it work but CP3 should only be playing like 25 minutes a night for most games.
All I know is the entire basketball universe (except me) has been wishing on a daily basis for CP3 to have yet another chance at a title surrounded by HOF'ers. So here you go. Be careful what you wish for.
They needed size not an old, injury prone, known to be difficult to work with Chris Paul. You just got rid of Poole because of chemistry issues. Now you're going to reduce CP3 to be his biggest rivals bench warmer. I'm sure he's going to love it. Wildes already alluding to CP3 not being thrilled with the trade. Yep this should be fun to watch.
"Nick Wick"😂my bro!!!telling it llike it is!!
I think the warriors are betting on other contenders wanting Chris at the deadline they could get some good pieces if a team is desperate enough
If Klay starts the first 10 games next season the same way he played to close last season. He would become a legit bench player
They are totally ignoring the elephant in the room - CP3’s durability. W's want him to play low minutes (and not starting) so he'll be available in the later rounds of the playoffs (for a change). Really deficient analysis imo.
I don’t get why it would be a problem. This is a Steve Kerr problem to implement CP3 play style when he is on the court. Warriors are trying to make the bench consistent and end game consistency down the stretch. Health is key here.
The team is tiny!
Health is key so they pick up a 38 year old injury prone Chris Paul? Uh...
CP fits in every team cuz he's great but boston is the best fit for him at this point. Whether he start or not, they have to manage his court time and they're getting max every minute
And to get the senior discount while on the road
So Chris Paul is a backup ?
Steph had the most success the last year in the pick and roll. With CP3 and their new draft pick it looks like they're going for more pick n roll
We all know he's starting caliber in terms of talent but how does that matter if too many minutes gets him hurt ever year. The bench unit is perfect for him.
I wouldve preferred to see cp3 in Boston, Philly, Milwaukee, Miami, or in the west, New Orleans
Any thought that CP3 is going to come off the bench is wishful thinking. This is the exact same situation CP3 walked into when he got traded to Huston: he and Harden started, took turns in the middle and then closed together. This isn't hard.
As a long time Warriors fan, pretty sure Steph and Chris Paul are going to work out well together. The real problem is Draymond and Chris Paul. I am pretty sure these two of them are going to be at each other's throats.
I DONT CARE. I just want Steph and Chris to shimmy in each other's faces as a handshake/celebration.
Chris is disrespectful, CP3 is not that far from steph as a pg. Steph is just a better shooter and scorer
Right exactly, the gap level between those 2 is not by a lot for sure, Broussard is over exaggerating this no doubt.
Brou is right CP3 is mainly to get off Jordan Pool contract sure he can help them running the second unit when Steph is resting
Steph and Chris isn't a rivalry Steph is light-years ahead of him
Is there anything wrong with the warriors doing more pick n roll this coming season?
Chris Paul, Kaminga, Moses Moody, Devinchinso, and picks getting traded to Portland for Damian Lillard
Lol everyone who was "in talks" or linked to the Lakers are going somewhere else 😂😆
Didn't this happen when Rodman joined the Chicago Bulls? He was a Piston who Bulls players had issues with.
I would imagine that Poole wasn't a sought after guy in the market after this playoff run. ATL and IND are 2 teams that don't need him. They have their backcourt.
Chris Paul is Definitely 1 Of Greatest Point Guards Of All Time. Even At 38 Years Of Age , he's a starter on a very good team.
You starting him over Klay? Steph at 2? eh id rather cp3 come off bench
Am here cause undisputed ended :(
He’d be nice coming off the bench as the 6th or 7th guy so he can play less minutes and hopefully stay healthy for the playoffs
Nope. But keep telling yourself that. He's injury prone and has been know to be have a bad attitude and is difficult to work with. You've now reduced him to being his biggest rival's bench warmer while at the same time paring him with another guy with a volatile attitude in Draymond Green. Since I'm not a GSW fan I'm all for it bring it on lol. This should be fun.
@@Geeberino why would CP three start over Klay he’s a point guard Stephen Curry will play his natural position shooting guard CP three by far has the best play making ability on that team draymond would be second
can the Mavs S&T Kyrie for CP0, Kuminga n stuff?
This will work because it allows Steph and Klay to come off screens and if that’s not open then Paul can hit his midrange shots. Makes sense to me
"It is odd."
"It is."
Fade to Black
CP3 been smashing nuts for 25 years
Dont forget steph plays great off the ball.
And cp3 managed to fit in well with James Harden in Houston.
I'm not gonna write it off just yet.
I think we glossing over the obvious, this was simply two-fold for the Warriors. Get off Jordan Poole and keep away from the Lakers
Lakers are irrelevant. This wasn’t about keeping Paul from the lakers lmfao

He won't agree to that. He thinks he's still a starter. He's not but he's probably in denial. No way is he going to be Steph's backup lol. I would be shocked if he agreed to that.
The closing lineup is Cp3, Curry. Klay, Wiggs, and Dray. That lineup is formidable and most importantly the Warriors have too many turnovers and CP3....doesnt turn the ball over
If he really stays with the warriors and comes off the bench,no one knows how this will go,this is new to all of us
"To help us clear out a bad contract and salary."
The suns were terrible till chris paul came in as a leader. I’m sure he will be fine playing with them.
It’s crazy cp3 went back to prime CP3 when he played with KD on the warriors he’s a bench player no expectations
Cant start cp3 at the 3 so the question is would you rather have klay at 2 or Chris Paul I’ll take klay
Me too, klay all day
If steph goes to the bench and the team struggles the problem is not size, its reliable shooting
Issue I take with Broussards statement towards the end. A team can be historically well ran and still make mistakes with personnel. The lakers are a historically great team yes? Didn’t stop them from offering the Deng and Mosgov contracts did it? Didn’t stop them from attempting to pair Westbrook with lebron did it?
Chris coming off the bench will increase his longevity and prevent him from getting injured in the playoffs.
Do you really believe Chris Paul is going to agree to be Steph Curry's backup? I highly, highly doubt that.
Send Chris Paul To The Celtic ❤
Bring Klay off the Bench and let gim he the #1 option of the 2nd unit. Klays says as a starter may be over. For the betterment of the team, the #1 option of the 2nd was Jordan Pooles role the last two seasons. Put Klay back into that role because he used to be that b4 Poole came. Klay has to accept that bench role and I guarantee they win it all.
Fit isn’t the issue. Do you guys think guys like Livingston, Speights, Ezeli, Iggy ran motion offense when the bench came on? Y’all wild to think they ONLY ran motion offense…
Starting CP3 then you would have to move Klay to the 3. Atleast playing SG ‘s Klay could use his size. Klay at would SF after the injuries would get cooked. Draymond isn’t the same defensive player and can’t cover for the backcourt and wings.
Warriors Draft a 6'5 guy instead of a big man and then Add cp3. They don't have a single player over 6'9
I love CP3 it will work I’m glad he is there let’s go warriors
I feel like they will let draymond go and replace him with center since cp3 is already in the team.
