Iâm a United fan and when Madrid came for Ronaldo we all knew what is was. They are simply that club
Non English players treat Madrid and Barca above every other club from birth. Itâs easy for a Ronaldo to go. I think the case here is, is it starting to make sense for a Foden, Saka, Gallagher or Mainoo to move to Bayern, Madrid or Barca for trophies.
Stop it. Ronaldo is from Portugal. It's a different thing.
â ââ ââ ââ @@nim8435 Foden is winning so many trophies already. Obviously any United players that care about winning trophies wonât be signing a new contract there. Mainoo is throwing his career away.
ronaldo is a lifelong madrid fan but these days we have more muscle in the market
@@grassrootsfootball225 he's not. His mother wanted him to go. He supported Benfica or something like that. Ultimately the move there was a sound one but I'd argue that much of their success was down to him.
No club is bigger than real Madrid
Itâs always a pretty clear indication if someoneâs mental well-being is declining when they start coming out with that man United are as big of a club as Madrid đ€Ł top 5 you might have an argument, but what Simon came out with is laughable
They weren't even on a level even when Utd were in their prime and Real Madrid weren't that good. It says it all when Madrid weren't amazing and United were reaching back to back UCL finals, they still took away Ronaldo (who wanted to go a year before lol).
One of the biggest lies in football is saying United are the biggest club when they've never been that even at their best đ
â@@Phil_MitchellIf half the world didn't speak Spanish, the 2 club league in Spain would be as good as the Bulgarian league. Madrid and Barca hoover up a whole nations football income. Ridiculous plastic situation. (Not a fan of Man Utd).

â@@toddhellyar4167just like if oil sheikh and American cocaine dealers didn't evade England with their money English clubs will still be mediocre đđđ
Real Madrid are bigger than Man Utd
Water is also wet
Real Madrid and Barca are huge in South America , everyone supports one of them. PL is an afterthought
Yes, they are the biggest names in South America
That's why a lot of the best south american players play for one of those two clubs. Even those who played in the PL (Coutinho, Suarez) ended up in La Liga
Similar language and culture might also play a huge role. And let's not forget the much better weather.
In Asia, North America and Africa its the English clubs.
The Premier League doesnât care about them because the majority of South Americans are extremely poor and bring no money. Thatâs why they concentrate on US, Canada, Asia and Australia.
Simon woke up sour this morning.
Every morning
He is a nobody , dont know why he talks like he talks. Itâs very arrogant
Simon is the Brexit guy of football punditry.
At least Simon's honest that his constant peddling of United being bigger than Real Madrid is based on his race and not reality.
Man united still better than Madrid... Man United has been a failing club in last 10 years and yet still generate the same revenue as Madrid who been winning champion league. look no further than Barcelona.... they had one bad season and they failing apart financially

It's not the same hence why the PL is far more popular
@@cgray8267 Jim Ratcliffe will get manchester united back to where they were, it will take time but manchester united won't sink any lower than already have
United canât compare to Real Madrid mainly due to the difference in standards at the clubs. Uniteds fans are happy for the club to take the piss out of them and write seasons off finishing in 6/7th place. At Real Madrid that will NEVER be tolerated in any season. Theyâll sack the manager 3 times in the same season to avoid such a humiliation, and then rectify issues in the summer so they can start winning again the following season. Iâm still seeing United fans backing Ten Hag when theyâve been the laughing stock of the world all season
They even sack managers when they win things. They sacked Heynckes after winning their first UCL in over 30 years. They sacked Capello on two separate occasions after he won the title.
If Real played in the EPL, they would win the title in their very good years, but if they have bad years where they would ordinarily finish second or third in Laliga, that will see them finishing fourth and fifth in the EPL.
United competition is much more difficult and plentiful. They can no longer cherry pick the best players in the league the way Bayern does.
They have money but it does not mean much when 4 other clubs could spend as much. Real may be wealthy but they won't be happy to overspend on rivals players whose clubs don't just want or need to sell. Real may typically get the best players all over the world, but even today, they don't have the best single player in every position.
Leadership at all levels in the club becomes like the biggest differential amongst the biggest clubs in England. All of them have rich owners and they make the most money in Europe.
@@josephajibowo-wp2rw this competition is more difficult in England is a myth pal. Itâs just the top sides in England are not as good as the top sides in Spain, bar Man City. The teams in Spain are better than the teams in England, which is why they have completed dominated Europe winning the most champions leagues and europa leagues. Man City are the only team that would be competing against Madrid for a league
@@G-fd5ug The league that Barca won last year? City only compete with Madrid when Arsenal is only two points below City this season? A league where second place got 97 points one season and 93 another?
Winning one off cup games is different. You need to be good, but you'd be very close to win it with very very good individual players. Real always has that.
Winning league titles, however, is completely different. You have to actually be the "BEST" team in 9 months. The margins for error much in favour of the best team by definition.
Real would actually have a better chance of winning the UCL next season than winning the EPL.
When Madrid step up to sign a player, there is no way to refuse the biggest club in the world my friend đ Hala Madrid â€
Real Madrid are the top dogs
This a a new low even for Talk Sport. Comparing United to Real Madrid is absolutely insane.
Man Utd is no where near Madridâs Tyre tracks. Man Utd are no where the brake lights of Ac Milan
Someone woke up crabby today
If you have in account that all the top best players in the last 20/30 years were always in Spain with the exception of Cristiano: Zidane, Ronaldinho, RonaldoR9, Messi, Maradona, Rivaldo, RomĂĄrio... and didm't come to England
Wow, great point. That's true
Weather and lifestyle
Trippier (certainly didn't want to end up in Real Madrid), Loftus-Cheek, Tomori, Abraham and so on... but ok, only Kane and Jude
Trippier played for Atletico Madrid, of course he wouldnt want to play for them
14 vs 3âŠthe excuse is always that the English league is more difficult, which is waffle when you consider Nottingham Forest won 2 back to back!
Real Madrid and Barcelona are the pinnacle of football. Like, those are the clubs players want to go to, not just money, but climate plays a part.
climate ain't great in madrid apart from the summer, but Bellingham probs wont be there much over the summer in any case

Better
for the international football team . Improved dressing room with key players not fighting for PL
Real Madrid deliberately targeted British players as they rightly recognised that if they could break the link of British players eyeing moves to the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool then they could simultaneously improve their own clubs and weaken their biggest competition.
Real Madrid was absolutely not the draw in the world of football for many years until the 21st century (granted they had success in the 1960s). They were just another club until they built the marketing themed galacticos.
Football is perception in many ways. Go back 30 years and everyone wanted to play in Italy. Ultimately players will go where they can maximise their appeal, financial opportunities and to progress on the pitch.
Go back to history and go and check the team that won the 5 EUROPEAN cups on the spin

@@kwadwoasamoah103 nope brother in the 80s or 90s everyone wanted to got to italy or better Ac Milan
@@kwadwoasamoah103 That's true but there was a time when the gap was much closer between Real Madrid and other clubs. After winning the Champions League in 1994 AC Milan was just one behind Real Madrid. Especially in the first half of the 90s Real Madrid wasn't even top dog in Spain. Cruyffs Barcelona and La Coruna competed more often for the tiltel than Real Madrid did. Also on European level Barcelona was ahead. In the meantime Real Madrid made many good decisions that put them ahead but 30 years ago the football world looked much different.
Yes Simon, you're being blinkered as you say. Your consistent attempt to compare Manchester United to Real Madrid and somehow try to make anyone believe that they are in the same sphere is ridiculous at this point.
When I leave my house, say to go to the beach, supermarket, etc. I am always guaranteed to see at least 10 to 15 Real Madrid jerseys, 10 to 15 Barcelona jerseys, and zero chance of seeing a Manchester United Jersey. Hell, I've even seen Hotspur jerseys lol...not a single Man U jersey though.
Real Madrid beat Manchester United in every possible metric you can think of. they're worth more money, they have a larger fan base , they have better players, they actually win all the time, and they're not a perennial has been that sits mid-table season to season. your English bias is as ridiculous as your nostalgia of the past
Simon did you live in Spain ? We never knew
Real Madrid are the biggest club ever its who every player wants to play for
Letâs be honest, when Madrid calls, you go! Theyâre the biggest club in the worldâŠ
Simon Jordan is always right! đ
Simon is one of the few deluded United fans that thinks their club is bigger than Real Madrid.
Let me tell you, theyâre not bigger than Barcelona or Bayern. And titles wise, AC Milan is bigger too.
Battle of the English bottlers tonight who will win Bellingham or Kane
Man utd? Is this 2002?
Yes Simon it is.
And it has nothing to do with which league is best or not.
Having a broader education is just basic common sense.
Spain is beautiful as well. The culture is beautiful. Amazing life
England is depressing
Better standard of coaching across the continent I would say.
With the new rules on what clubs can spend watch all the stars go abroad to win champions league
It might be hard to accept, even for big European clubs, but Real Madrid is just in a different league. No Liverpool, no Bayern, no Barca, no Milan come close to the magic and attraction that Real Madrid has. And these were just the clubs that have won five or more Champions League trophies. There are others who are big fishes on domestic level, like Juventus, Inter and Manchester United but with all due respect they are small, compared to Real Madrid in terms of international trophies, history and reputation.
So imagine being a young player like Bellingham and Real Madrid is interested in signing you. Why are they willing to spend a release fee of 100m and an eigth digit salary for you? They think you are the right player to win them trophies and to continue their legacy. How can you turn such an offer down? You don't know if that door will ever open again if you don't take the chance and walk through it now. So, yes, of course you take this chance, especially when you see what they are doing with their team, having lots of young and immensely talented players who already won the Champions League. That's the prize you want to win. That Real Madrid team will just get better over the next few years and when you join them you have a good chance of winning La Liga and Champions League more than once, maybe becoming a legend of that club, of the biggest club. What more can you expect?
Why should you choose another club over Real Madrid, especially Manchester United which in recent years has a record of not improving players but making them worse? As a young player you want to further develop your skills and your career, not finish it by becoming mediocre.
100%
Each move abroad should be judged on its own merits - Bellingham will end up in the PL eventually - and Kane owed the PL nothing . Ultimately, playing in front of sell-out crowds EVERY game us very appealing. Bother to look at the other big leagues and outside the top 6 of each country, the clubs play to 20,000.
Maybe when he's 30 years old or if things don't go as planned at Real Madrid. But if he continues the way he performs currently he will collect a lot of silverware with Real Madrid and maybe even become a legend of that club. What incentive might one have to move to a smaller club when you are at the biggest one and everything is fine? Who would want to leave them is he is not forced to? Varane and Casemiro did that because they now earn more money than before. But are they happy? Have their careers developed in the way they hoped?
The more he talked, the more he convinced himself that going abroad was indeed betterâŠ..even though he canât outright say it đ€đ§đ
Real Madrid is number 1 for all players in the majority, and up until Messi left Barcelona was above any English club, Im sorry but utds 3 Champions Leagues can't compare.
The thumbs down is for the loud jingle at the end
Well re jude bellingham I dont think anybody can really question his career trajectory personaly to go from the efl championship to the bundesliga and flourish in that league and then sign for what a lot of people would consider to be the biggest football club in the world in real madrid certainly in terms of history and allure all of the top players want to sign for real madrid did jordan not notice ronaldo left m utd for real madrid when m utd where actually a good side ffsđ€Ł in fact a lot of the top players in the prem over the years have signed for real madrid hazard bale modric xabi alonso to name a few đ€ jude bellingham is actually so young he could still actually easily sign for a prem club in the future anyway he has plenty of time who knowsđ€
Maradona wanted to play for a team where he related too, and fans loved him
He would never of got that at real madrid
Barcelona also did not give maradona what he wanted, ie fans who loved him
Gray linekar said barcelona fans are like opera fans, meaning you as a player have to please them before the crowd applauds the players.
The fact that maradona picked napoli, showed that real madrid, and barcelona was not for maradona
Real madrid fans are not fans like people think fans are, and if your a player who needs the fans to love you do not goto such a club
They expect the players to perform at such a team.

No English club is as big of a draw as Real Madrid , and there is nothing wrong with English players playing abroad , You've got four english players in the UCL semi-finals . FULL STOP
And players loke wiltshire and now grealish and saka get crippled in the PL. England still only likes the tough image. Fair enough but generations of players are lost with this mentality.
Next week he will be singing a different tune this guy.
Simon in his bubble saw Ferguson & Manchester United dominate English football but Fergie won only 2 CL & it's his biggest regret he didn't win more. Del Bosque, world cup winner won 2 CL & 5 league titles but got the sack. Ferguson, even if he won La Liga at Real Madrid... with only 2 CL, he would have gotten the sack & wouldn't have the chance to farm league titles.
Look at Manchester United, they got complacent & now they are on their way to become worse than AC Milan & etc. Real Madrid, its culture & structure does not allow excuses or complacency. Real Madrid is first, not some owner or players... Cristiano Ronaldo, best player was sold after a threepeat while Barcelona gave Messi half a billion salary/contract.
For Manchester United to get close to Real Madrid, then Manchester United would have to win multiple CLs per decade but they didn't. In 20+ years, Real Madrid won 7 CL titles.
All true but Real has got the right protection. Mention that too.
