Non English players treat Madrid and Barca above every other club from birth. It’s easy for a Ronaldo to go. I think the case here is, is it starting to make sense for a Foden, Saka, Gallagher or Mainoo to move to Bayern, Madrid or Barca for trophies.

United can’t compare to Real Madrid mainly due to the difference in standards at the clubs. Uniteds fans are happy for the club to take the piss out of them and write seasons off finishing in 6/7th place. At Real Madrid that will NEVER be tolerated in any season. They’ll sack the manager 3 times in the same season to avoid such a humiliation, and then rectify issues in the summer so they can start winning again the following season. If Real played in the EPL, they would win the title in their very good years, but if they have bad years where they would ordinarily finish second or third in Laliga, that will see them finishing fourth and fifth in the EPL.
United competition is much more difficult and plentiful. They can no longer cherry pick the best players in the league the way Bayern does.
They have money but it does not mean much when 4 other clubs could spend as much. Real may be wealthy but they won't be happy to overspend on rivals players whose clubs don't just want or need to sell. Real may typically get the best players all over the world, but even today, they don't have the best single player in every position.
Leadership at all levels in the club becomes like the biggest differential amongst the biggest clubs in England. All of them have rich owners and they make the most money in Europe.

Winning one off cup games is different. You need to be good, but you'd be very close to win it with very very good individual players. Real always has that.
Winning league titles, however, is completely different. You have to actually be the "BEST" team in 9 months. The margins for error much in favour of the best team by definition.
Real would actually have a better chance of winning the UCL next season than winning the EPL.

Real Madrid deliberately targeted British players as they rightly recognised that if they could break the link of British players eyeing moves to the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool then they could simultaneously improve their own clubs and weaken their biggest competition.
Real Madrid was absolutely not the draw in the world of football for many years until the 21st century (granted they had success in the 1960s). They were just another club until they built the marketing themed galacticos.
Football is perception in many ways. Go back 30 years and everyone wanted to play in Italy. Ultimately players will go where they can maximise their appeal, financial opportunities and to progress on the pitch.

It might be hard to accept, even for big European clubs, but Real Madrid is just in a different league. No Liverpool, no Bayern, no Barca, no Milan come close to the magic and attraction that Real Madrid has. And these were just the clubs that have won five or more Champions League trophies. There are others who are big fishes on domestic level, like Juventus, Inter and Manchester United but with all due respect they are small, compared to Real Madrid in terms of international trophies, history and reputation.
So imagine being a young player like Bellingham and Real Madrid is interested in signing you. Why are they willing to spend a release fee of 100m and an eigth digit salary for you? They think you are the right player to win them trophies and to continue their legacy. How can you turn such an offer down? You don't know if that door will ever open again if you don't take the chance and walk through it now. So, yes, of course you take this chance, especially when you see what they are doing with their team, having lots of young and immensely talented players who already won the Champions League. That's the prize you want to win. That Real Madrid team will just get better over the next few years and when you join them you have a good chance of winning La Liga and Champions League more than once, maybe becoming a legend of that club, of the biggest club. What more can you expect?
Why should you choose another club over Real Madrid, especially Manchester United which in recent years has a record of not improving players but making them worse? As a young player you want to further develop your skills and your career, not finish it by becoming mediocre.

Simon in his bubble saw Ferguson & Manchester United dominate English football but Fergie won only 2 CL & it's his biggest regret he didn't win more. Del Bosque, world cup winner won 2 CL & 5 league titles but got the sack. Ferguson, even if he won La Liga at Real Madrid... with only 2 CL, he would have gotten the sack & wouldn't have the chance to farm league titles.
Look at Manchester United, they got complacent & now they are on their way to become worse than AC Milan & etc. Real Madrid, its culture & structure does not allow excuses or complacency. Real Madrid is first, not some owner or players... Cristiano Ronaldo, best player was sold after a threepeat while Barcelona gave Messi half a billion salary/contract.
For Manchester United to get close to Real Madrid, then Manchester United would have to win multiple CLs per decade but they didn't. In 20+ years, Real Madrid won 7 CL titles.
