Over 10yrs and I still want a hedgehog. Theres barely any videos about them so I just keep rewatching the same ones just to watch and see how cute the hedgehogs are 🤣
Lol this guy is a soldier for holding tht hedgehog so calm, when hedgehogs ball up thats when their quills hurt the worse, mine is pretty tame but ofc she is a bit grouchy like most, and when she curls up its like holding a ball of thumbtacks
i got a hedgehog a week ago, ive done so much research but omg she is so rude to me and complicated. whenever i go to pick her up she hisses and bites me, ive tried doing the treat things and she wont eat them EVER she sniffs then hisses. She refuses to be held and will run away from me when i get near her cage, she loves the shirts i put in but when she notices me she gets MAD. shes 12 weeks old and i just dont know what to do with her anymore. :(
Honestly, just to be real- she may just be a hedgehog that does not thrive from interaction, and as her owner- you need to be okay with that. Naturally, hedgehogs are very, VERY- antisocial animals, so imagine if you get one that's even only a slight bit more mean/antisocial... My hedgehog Leonidas, does not bite or anything, but he does hiss and ball up when I try and get him. Over a few minutes, he opens up, and is pretty okay- but I still know that he is not a "cuddly instagram hedgie". Since you've only got her a week ago, I recommend still trying for a bit more time, because these are types of animals that DEMAND and REQUIRE consistency, so if you can't give that to them, they will not make progress.. I was told not to use any detergent when washing the fleece as the perfumes in the detergent aren’t good for them🤷♀️ also when are you holding your hedgehog? They are nocturnal so I feel like I shouldn’t bother her during the day, I usually wait till around 8pm at nighttime and that’s also when I clean her cage, but I see people interacting during the day with theirs or when ever they feel like it and I’m just wondering which way is best for them?
I really want one but I can’t get one bc my dad won’t allow it 💔 in 16 so I still live with him but I definitely want a hedgehog,cat or snake once I move out 👺

I just give my hedgehog 🦔 a lot of different types of bugs on top of her catfood I have also never handled with gloves 🧤

My hedgehog uses a bottle, and when she uses a bowl (i used the cap of the bottle to see how she'd do) she inhales water 😖
