I have HX993B - moving out the inner parts is very tricky! At 0:58 you see the latch - the need to be pushed slightly inside - both! Screwdrivers are tricky (unless you have 3 hands). I found it much easier to put two wooden toothpicks between latch and housing. They stay in place without hands and push the latch just enough. After that a slight push to the head and the inner part came out.

hi, thank you so much for the video. That really saved me a lot of money. My batteries are still ok. But I was about to get two new Sonicare DiamondClean because they didn't transfer the vibration to the brush anymore. Just tighten the screw at the upper end and everything is perfect again. Just didn't know how to open the part. Really well described.

I opened mine but it wasn't loose. I can make it louder pressing against certain areas but I have the same problem of it not transferring vibration to the brush head :(

if you have a second person around, one could press together the bottom, while the other one sticks the screwdriver into the gap. That was easier to me then twisting it around.

Thanks very much for your detailed instructions! When I got min open I was surprised, and a tad disgusted with how gunked up it was. There was so much toothpaste near the top I thought it was caulk. I cleaned it up with alcohol and canned air. It's a couple years old so I'll switch out the battery while I'm at it. Thanks again!
Check the seal it may have broke. Mine broke with a year use and gunk built up in the link rod mechanism in the top of the handle. Replace the seal or it will happen quickly again.
Thanks. In my case there was a single screw loose. Just above the top, so the toothbrush would not work properly and was vibrating too much. Thanks to your guide I was able to fix it. Thanks!
mine doesn't vibrate when I press against the teeth (with the brush)
but when the brush is off, it vibrate like crazy

Great video I was able to reattach a screw on the head which was causing a bad vibration, works like new!

Top Tip: Don't twist the handle to open it, just squeeze it with the grips. The cap should then pop out slightly and you can then pull or pry the cap out.

Can anyone tell me what the component on Q3 says and/or where to find one? i knocked mine off and the battery wont charge anymore.
After battery replacement ( unfortunately I forgot the LP1 Point) my brush doesn't do anything. Can I fix it with hard reset or something similar?

Thank you so much for sharing this manual !!! After 3 years my toothbrush became crazy (eg. unexpected auto switching on during nights). I thought it can´t be dismantled to found out the causaution.Being despair I wanted to cut the casing open, which should damage the toothbrush´s usability for sure. Fortunately i stumbled on this video.
Reason of failure - invisible broken sealing at the head and enormous inner moisture ...

i have a question on the power switch: is it a mechanical tactile one? Mine doesn't seem to be able to turn on the toothbrush and there isn't a mechanical depression when i press, is this normal?
The plastic button on the casing can get gummed up with toothpaste. Remove the casing of the handle and soak the plastic casing in water. Keep pushing the button while it's wet to remove some of the toothpaste.
Replaced the battery in my HX6100 and it briefly came on then hasn't come on again. Removed the solder and tried a few times. Got some really tidy solder joints and it still won't turn on. I have continuity. The battery is showing approx 3.5v. Left it on charge for an hour or more and still no joy. The only thing I see when plugged in is a faint flashing led adjacent to CR2 on the pcb (one of the mode indicators). Close to giving up!
is there any place i can send it and get it replaced? I dont have Sortering machine and stuff
+Tarun Singh (Mr. Not so Rich) It depends where you live, but if you print out the written guide and take it to an appliance or TV repair shop to show them they might do the repair for you. Buying a soldering iron might be cheaper, however!

I just finished soldering the jp1 and it still doesn't appear to charge, but the big rectangular processor-looking thing in the middle of the board got super hot. I'm sure I got the battery in the correct direction; what could be causing that?
If you're sure that the positive battery terminal is nearest to the motor then it sounds like there could be a stray blob of solder causing a short circuit, or one of the other surface mount components has moved.
Hi, did the test at the end and nothing. Now battery is 3.6v (old was zero) so I'd expect something. Any other ideas? Thanks
I can't get the bottom to move. I've twisted and twisted with a vise. Doesn't budge???
Don't twist the bottom, just squeeze it with the grips. The cap should then pop out slightly and you can then pull the cap out.
Hello why do you have to desolder the JP 1 connection? Why not desolder the + and - connections only for the battery removal?
JP1 is a safety disconnection for the battery. After disconnecting JP1 you can safely desolder the + and - battery connections and if you slip with the soldering iron you won't cause a short-circuit.
I used duct tape in a y shape to make a pull tab to pull the battery out as I de soldiered
My tooth brush simply will not charge. Will changing out the battery resolve my issue?
When you say it won't charge, does the charging light flash on the brush when it's on the charger?
Ionic Industries no doesn't charge at all, the light doesn't come on and it doesn't charge when on another surface

Solved: I poked the second side while the first side is poped out.
I can't believe that Sonicare would make such a difficult product such as this! I love the product but being elderly (and there are millions of us!) it is very difficult to change the battery...thank goodness there are much cheaper products to replace this pricey toothbrush now. I will never buy another Sonicare toothbrush again.

This might mean that the circuitry inside the toothbrush was damaged. Check the PCB for signs of water ingress such as staining, corrosion or crystal formation.
Just how do you release the clips once the cover comes off?
Use a small screwdriver to reach in and move the black clips away from the inside of the handle casing.
Hey guys! I thought about replacing the Battery with a 4.5V power supply . Do you think this is possible? :)
4.5 seems a lil high, pretty sure this is a 18650,so 3.7v. You could always add a small resistor in line to drop the voltage under load. There are calculators online for this type of thing.
After removing the battery you could in theory replace it with a 3.6V to 4.2V regulated DC power supply hard-wired in, but you might have an issue with waterproofing.
@@rompdude The cell is a 3.7V Li Ion cell AA size, much smaller than a 18650.
this batteries are really hard to find and not cheap.i order now everything what i need it so will soon replace the battery.i let u all know.

Diamond Clean tooth brushes are great, but they die quickly. I've had to replace mine under warranty every year since I bought it. Now, Phillips is demanding the original receipt, so because it is long gone, I can't get a warranty replacement. If you want a great toothbrush that lasts for about a year and costs nearly $250, the Diamond Clean is for you. Otherwise, look elsewhere.
Same here, mine was 2 months over warranty and they wouldn't even repair it even when I offered a fee. Switched to Braun after having this happen to every Sonicare Toothbrush over the past 6 or 7 years. You're just left with a load of chargers and glass cups!
Mine lasted five years and three months before the battery gave out. I've been using it twice a day on 2.5 minute mode.

@@superstarDJ537 If mine dies again, I'll be switching back to a Braun. My dental hygienist told me that a manual toothbrush, if used twice per day for two minutes, and applied to all surfaces of my teeth is as effective as an electric toothbrush. Of course, like the electric toothbrush companies, she has a monetary interest in my dental health.

My base does not pop out at all!
If there is a lot of dried-on toothpaste around the base cap you might end up needing to pry the cap out while squeezing the handle.
@@ionicindustries Thanks. I finally got there after struggling with it for a long time. It definitely wasn't easy! The next problem is that my battery doesn't just pop out when I use a soldering iron to remove the solder. Yours came off so effortlessly but i'm not having the same success.
@@M0rph123 If you can't get all the solder out with a solder sucker you might have to simultaneously heat the joint and pry that end of the battery out.
@@ionicindustries Thanks for the response. I might try with some solder wick although I can't really see any remaining solder with my eyes. I will have another go to repair but I did pick a replacement up in the sales as a backup.

And here it is, 2024, the same battery, same approach, same problem, same answer. Great toothbrush but will never buy again because of this issue.
First part is easy it's the 2nd part I'm struggling with. .what the hell are you suppos to do with the clips , push, pull, side twist, wtf
The black clips need moving towards the centre of the toothbrush. Away from the inner walls of the casing. It is difficult to do both of them simultaneously!

Sorry, I don't know what the 2 buzzes with green flashes, then 1 buzz with yellow flash means. Possibly PCB damage or empty battery?
Philips wants you throw away your perfectly good tooth brush because battery got old and buy a new one. Changing battery is not an option!

what ever happened to giving AUDIO detailed instructions while SHOWING what to do. The best Instructional videos use audio detailed instruction as well as showing what you are doing, AND NO music background (and you did not have music blaring in the background).
