    Loved how you printed the four way brackets on the diagonal, eliminating the need for support and optimizing the strength of the part due to the layer lines!

    Wonderfully wholesome and love that with all that we can do with 3D printing, it wasn't a "one use case" design. Those brackets can absolutely be used for other builds if HAL or others want to.

    Looks good. Being that light with the wooden "sail" on top to catch the gusts of wind, you'd need to weigh it down or anchor it. Maybe just throwing a sand bag over the front bottom beam would be enough.

    I need to move my printers and planned on getting a metal shelf, I just may build a shelf using this setup instead, it' would be more appropriate for the printers as long as I could make the shelf very ridged. A back board should do the trick for that! Glad I found this in time for once. LOL

      It's definitely misleading. 3D printed brackets for a lemonade stand wouldn't be as exciting or clock-worthy though. They know exactly what they're doing. Is it scummy for unethical? That's up for you, the viewer, to decide.

    • @HaxPotato
      @HaxPotato Před 2 měsíci

      I'm sorry you don't understand, but if you're a printing fan you tend to better understand the limitations. You could say "I'm going to 3d print a circular saw" and expect to print a complete working saw but instead you get a plastic model. You can't print a working motor, electrical switches, copper wiring or anything else within reason or cost expectations that would be functional on that level. It's OK to make connectors, it saves tons of money and allows customization at the same time.

  • @rainmannoodles
    @rainmannoodles Před 2 měsíci +1

    Really? Hosting the files on Maker World?
    I'm not against reviewing Bambu Lab products or using them for their actual merits, but supporting and promoting their stolen platform when there are plenty of others available is a bit too far. It's sad to see so many 3D printing creators selling out to those kinds of companies.

    • @kimmotoivanen
      @kimmotoivanen Před 2 měsíci

      Popular files in MW generate income to uploaders in form of rewards - that can be changed to spare parts, filaments and printers.
      It can lead to
      - uploading other designer's files (let's call those _remixes_ whether they have any changes or not) to benefit
      - self-promotion in all available channels, including polluting non-Bambu groups in e.g. FaceBook
      - declining to upload files to other platforms as they lessen downloads and hence the rewards
      - forcing people to create MW / Bambu account *to get the dang files* (can't download without it!)
      We can only guess _where the money to support MW reward system comes from_ (esp. after A1 callback) and how they use user data.
      Of course their plan A is to compete every other STL sharing site (not to forget 3D-printer manufacturer) to death/oblivion, collect user data (the product) and designs (amount over quality, it's popularity game), gain world dominance (in 3D-printing, if not broader) and get absurdly rich in closed ecosystem.
      In the end, we are talking about Chinese company, obliged to share collected user data and print data to government when asked to. Some people are worried about *Tik-Tok* and wish to block it, but Bambu is just so _cute_ and _new_ and they can't do evil (like Google)

  • @StumblingBumblingIdiot
    @StumblingBumblingIdiot Před 2 měsíci

    Wonder why youtubers started using makerworld after the whole blow up thing in the beginning. Bambu must have changed their contracts to make in mandatory or thrown a lot of cash around cause I think that is the worst next to creality's but compared to the big 3 (thangs, printables and thingiverse) they are just way back.

    • @kimmotoivanen
