*Leave your best wishes to Joe and Margrit here!* --- 71+ years of experience them both... WOW!
** Pilot at 1:25 says "Bon voyage"... sorry for the mistake. *Bon voyage, Joe and Margrit!*
Thank you Joe and Margrit. You flew everywhere. I knew you people now. Really appreciated that you are going to retire. Got surprised that you pilots have 71+ experience of planes. Goodbye. 😊😊😊
Ight
And, Margrit's reply was in French too. It was "Merci".
Rajiv Mantena it was “grazie”. “Thank you” in Italian.
Bon voyage! This is awesome.
I've seen a few pilot retirement videos on CZcams, however, this one was refreshing to see a married couple, who obviously love each other, retire together. All the best to the Fahans!
Not going to lie, they look a lot better then someone who’s been flying for 35 years.
That’s what doing something you love does for you. You’ll always have stress, but when you love your job, it’s good stress.
Awe thanks~ yes, maybe it is because we loved our life and it was more than just a job🤗
Margrit Fahan Whoa, and the girl herself is fished up to the post. lol Congratulations for your retirement!
Congratulations and enjoy retirement!
Congratulations happy retirement
So heartwarming!
Congratulations to the Flying Fahans! I only flew with you once, JFK-CDG, but was very glad to meet you both. Best of luck and have fun in your next chapter! -Gretchen
I remember you, Gretchen! Thank you!
Wow!! What a great send-off! Thanks for capturing this! Juan.
Nice of the airline to set this up. You DON'T hear much about carriers treating their employees well these days, so kudos.
Good luck to both of you! Great pilots! I have flown with both of you when I was a second officer on the DC-10. Lost an engine with Margrit one night out of DTW, Can’t forget that!
That was a crazy light show for the tower and all the people on the ground😜✈️👩🏻✈️
Congratulations Fahans!!!
That was sweet. I kept hoping there would be a water salute - pity we couldn't see it. All the best to Joe and Margrit - hope you have a long and happy retirement.
We did get the water salute, perhaps it’ll be in the next video.
@@joefahan1362 Can't wait - to be honest, this video had me doing my own water salute - the respect, love and admiration shown by the ATCs was quite moving.

Thanks Nancy! Enjoy your time off as well:). Maybe we’ll bump into you on a flight somewhere.....😁✈️🥂
Congrats to both of you, Joe and Margrit! It was a pleasure having flown with both of you! Joe, I will always remember our flight down to India on the A-330 and of course “KEBUD” intersection😁. Mazel Tov in your retirement. I know how it feels, having just retired after 40 years.
Congrats to you too❣️
Congratulations to you too, then!
Looks like there was a water salute. Nice to see them on the same flight when they retire.
I dread the day I do the mandatory. I have 10 years left. Congratulations on your retirement.
Don't live in the "wreckage of the future". When that time comes, embrace it. All the best to you!🙂
It comes fast! Enjoy every crazy minute of the adventure❣️
Congratulations. I've met many many pilots during my lay over at hotels driving for yellow freight. My union retirement last 11 months. I was going nuts so I went an bought my own truck an started a company. Yes I know I need to see a doctor but I love driving so much as I know as I know the both of you totally enjoyed flying. You experience is the reason I only fly DeltA. I wish both of yall a happy an prosperous RETIREMENT.
Keep on Truckin' Tom! From a "Former" Yellow guy from AQE. Now after a Change of Operations, I've been in Phoenix, Arizona since the merger of YRC. Steer clear of here.......... 117°F today! Drive safe!!
Hey Tom! I’m an old retired Yellow Freight line haul driver and later safety supervisor at CLE. I remember staying at a motel in Chicago that some of the aircrews were at. As a licensed private pilot, I always enjoyed talking to them. I thought I had stories - there’s were WAY better. Retired now and enjoy visiting/touring our western states. Be safe out there brother!
Thomas Wilson uh
@@bigjeff1291 thank. You. Be safe brother. Always good to hear from a fellow teamster. I was near Cleveland the other day. Wow the roads are rough.
Thomas Wilson I live south of Akron and the roads are fine. Akron is a whole other story. Haven’t been in Cleveland for quite a while and honestly I don’t miss it. Be safe and happy trails...
Happy retirement to you both, Joe. Seeing this reminds me of our flights together on the 3 holer out of DTW years ago. Good fly'n and great times back then are well remembered. And I won't mention the couple times you confused me with ChazBoh. Ha. I retired a year and half ago off the ER in ATL. Love retirement but wonder where the time goes. There doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day to get everything done that I have planned these days. Miss flying the jet and glad to be through with the other "stuff". Congrats again, stay healthy and safe to you both. Trapper
Hi Trapper, those days seem long ago but you were always one of my favorites. Great to see you on here!
So awesome! Soon to be future airline captain here-thx for the great advice! Enjoy retirement❤️🛬(DL173 Has Arrived)!
All the best for a wonderful career ahead!
My hart is broken badly.. miss flying
I was not aware of this couple previously. Kind of surprised Delta let them fly together. A company I worked at for 22 years had a no spouses working for the same supervisor policy. Also a no one supervising their spouse policy. But they will love retirement. Over three years for me. Best three years of my life. Congrats to them!
To Delta, we are simply pilots. There is no consideration for spouses flying together because we are expected to decide if we can do the job professionally. There is another couple at American who also fly together.
Rather unique and rare to see a husband and wife Captain/First Officer team. To see it work very well is awesome. I too wish them the best. Maybe they’ll have a cup of coffee with Kennedy Steve too one day. Captain Joe, this would be a nice interview segment: how does marriage / relationships work after so long and JJ the sky.....
We are going to talk about that in an upcoming interview.
Wow good time to be getting out. Hoping I still have another 15 years (God willing). ✈️🤞🏼
✈️🤞❤️
Congrats on your retirement
Wonderful to see, happy retirement to both!
Congratulations on your many years of professional service. Good luck on your next endeavor. You both look young enough to have another career before commanding the ol' rocking chair...
Lol-we’re looking for the next adventure🤗✈️
Thanks, sometimes that rocking chair looks pretty comfortable!
To Joe and Margrit, congratulations on a successful and rewarding career and please accept my best wishes for a wonderful and very well deserved retirement!

Yes sir! My pleasure!
Congrats! Wow so amazing!! Thank You for your Service!! Maybe a story book of all your travels?? Bon Voyage 🥰
Nobody would believe it...😂
@@joefahan1362 maybe even a movie deal .. like Airport 👍 😁
Cdn Kate It would probably be more like “Airplane”...
Congratulations Joe and Magrit, an inspiration!
Dammit! Who's slicing onions in here?!?
@John Opalko, here too, what a coincidence! But then I noticed the fan blowing a bird feather in my eye so...
Birdstrike?
Okay, yeah, I'll just show myself out...be sure to mask your servers!🔥🤘😎💨💨💨
@@maggierezac5820 😁
i dont remember buying onions on my last grocery trip. damn!
😂😘😎
I’m not crying, you’re crying!
The fine words at the end are the best!
Thanks, I had no idea what I was going to say until I said it. It seemed to me that it was the most important thing.
This is just awesome. Congrats to both of them.
This must have been a rarity! Congrats to the Flying Fahans. Enjoy your retirement years now. (would love to know how many hours each of you recorded)
That's inappropriate! You never ask a lady how many hours she has flown...
We both logged over 20,000 hours it’s the airline.
😂Roughly 20,000 hours at the Airline, about 5000 before landing the “big” job😘
@@margritfahan2910 Wow. Kind of personal question, but do you and your colleagues wear radiation dosimetry meters, or does the airline medical dep't calculate hours and frequency? I've been seeing warnings about ionizing radiation at altitude. Cheers and stay safe on the ground!
@@joefahan1362 Impressive, to say the least! Happy retirement to both of you. Cheers, Bob
Very cool! There’s something in my eye.... actually, both eyes...
Mine too...
Thank you for sharing this special occasion. Congrats and enjoy your retirement.
beautiful... happy retirement!
Congrats from a A330 pilot from Scandinavia :) With 28 years to go 😂
Enjoy every minute, because those minutes add up to years faster than you know!
Lucky you~with 28 years to go there are so many airplanes waiting for you in the future;)
Joe Fahan thanks and best wishes! Hopfully will be back in the air in a few months and fly passangers to our exotic destinations again!
Margrit Fahan thanks alot :) I just want to be lucky and continue flying the A330 where I live untill retirement :) Been on ground now for 5 months ..:/

Doesn't get any better than that in the Airline biz...
Congrats
Classy couple!
Thanks❣️
Nice!!!❤️🎉🎉🎉
Watched it on the first upload
Good luck
pilot retirements get me all 😭
I’ve been flying Delta for almost as long as those guys have been driving the plane. I’m working on my third million miler card and thought it was a sure thing before Covid hit. But with the changes in flying for work, it might not. But I’ve been flying with a Delta all those years and all those miles because of the people of Delta. From the pilots, flight attendants, station staff, and the folks in the Crown Rooms and Sky Clubs, they’ve been the reason I’ve picked Delta over the other airlines. I’m glad this couple represent those folks so well. Enjoy retirement folks.
Thank you for the kind words for Us and for Delta.
It’s been a wonderful company to fly for..... wish we could’ve stayed longer, but hopefully it avoided 1 or 2 more junior pilots from getting furloughed.
Margrit Fahan , I’m glad that you guys are in a position to make that choice. I know a bunch of the older flight attendants thought they’d have been retired by now but alas the bankruptcy and attendant changes put paid to that. I do feel for the younger pilots, many of whom spent a small fortune, lots of hours in baby jets, and years of their lives getting on at Delta, only to have the virus set them back. I remember one of the executives for an airline last year saying they were set to make a profit for years to come. Well as the old saying goes, “Man plans and God laughs.”
William Wheeler One is our sons is coming up in the aviation world and faces possible furlough, so we have a vested interest in helping the junior pilots out. We feel
for everyone whose jobs are in jeopardy.
Congratulations to both of you for over 70 years of service. All the best for your retirement 🗽🗽
Thank you for what you do as well!
