- After a 33 year career at Horizon Air, my family and I were lucky enough to accompany my dad, Captain Steve Brown, on his final flight as a commercial airline pilot.
Capt. Steve Brown’s legacy lives on through the many young pilots he trained while serving as a Check Pilot at Horizon Air.
Lucky for dad, his son and his brother have professional video experience, and we put our best effort into capturing this special moment. We hope you enjoy!

In retirement, Steve is re-qualifying as a flight instructor in general aviation, and pursuing studies in computer networking and security.

When you LOVE what you do, you NEVER work a day in your life.
When he started reading the letter a student wrote, I teared up. "People in this world who matter most are those who chose to care and make a difference... without people like you, people like me can't realize their dream." Being a pilot (and in aviation/airlines in general) is being in a community that you just can't replicate. Aviation is like love story that even some of the best filmmakers in the world can't capture the spirit of. You did so in just a 10 minute video. Best wishes to your dad in retirement. Handsome man. As a former flight attendant, now a nurse, I still miss those days flying. I can only imagine the bittersweet thoughts going through his mind; wish him luck with a new career and making time for himself.

Saw the oil cleanup crew following the bird. You greased your last landing....congrats captain. Found myself in a similar situation. Retired 4 years ago and have been busier than ever. Change gears but not your transmission. You got this.
