Flew many flights with Captain Frank, and this is my way of paying him back. Come along with us for Frank's retirement flight from Boston to Paris and back. Look at the blog post I wrote about this trip here: bit.ly/9RYc4f
4:03 Ramp Agent: "It's your last flight?". Captain: "It is!". First Officer: "And it's my first flight!!". Hahaha... ;-)
I don't know about you but I'd be balling my eyes out once I retire from flying.
Mark Batarina yep, this would be me. Definitely!
he is just retiring from flying airliners. id put money he flys GA
yep I think I wouldn't even want to get off the plane I'd be crying my eyes out but I ain't a pilot but it is a dream of mine to become one
@@davidlee6117 Pilots two worst days: the day he knows its his last fight and they day he doesnt know its his last.
depends who you work for.... the airline gig isn't all everyone thinks it is!!!
how could someone dislike this??? this is amazing!
Aria Ostad
Liberals hate everything. Just ignore them. Many were abused as children.
@@jennifergriffin3690 Actually pretty sure right wing fascists are the ones hating...they despise anyone educated, like pilots.
Probably disgruntled American Airlines passengers.
SquaadZulu you have no way of knowing if they’re liberal or conservative.....you just outed yourself as a complete fucking moron
@@SolRayz fascists lol, liberals are more interested in gender studies, hating police and white people than actual jobs, nice try buddy
Im also a retired pilot.
on FSX.
:(
If its the low graphic FSX I see what you are saying
Yup, heard that they don't pay much ;)
I was a retired pilot from FSX too. But Don't worry I got my new job in P3D.
I retired from FSX but now I back on X-Plane 11 haha
I have 3.5 million miles logged on this airline. I owe my gratitude to all these dedicated professionals who have safely brought me back home. Thanks Captain.
Time flies, Frank has retired in 2009 in 10 years ago, I wish him keep good health & enjoy the retirement life. 👍
He's gonna miss the smell of the coffee brewing, the cabin itself, man its gonna suck not being a captain anymore.
He will always be a captain. His ranking doesn't go away, now he just adds retired to his title.
Concorde Aviation it gets boring after 21 years
German Aviation that’s because you’ve never flown
Very true. For me it's like catastrophic of Concorde
Lovely video. That's very touching when he says THAT'S THE END. Congratulations for serving your passengers and getting retired so respectfully.
Alot of respect to this man.Well done sir and thank you for your service to people.Gongrats on your retirement.
Godspeed Captain Frank ... you are what makes America proud. The airline as well, I am sure.
What a nice story and video .Kudos to the videographer/editor for a splendid tribute !
That final landing for a commercial airline and walking out the most amazing office in the world. That is when it all starts to sink in. Hats off to you capt.
This is the sweetest retirement flight. I like how he kicked the tires!! His family with hi. Happy Blessed Retirement!
We need even more videos like this.
THANKS TO CAPTAIN FRANK FOR HIS DEDICATION AND FOR MAKING OUR FLIGHTS ON AMERICAN SMOOTH AND SAFE, MY RECOGNITION TO ALL THE PILOTS THAT MAKE FLYING POSSIBLE EVERY DAY WITH NO ACCIDENTS, ENJOY YOUR WELL EARNED RETIREMENT, ENJOY FAMILY!!!!
Congratulations Captain Frank! You are not retired yet... you just have 7 days off a week (◠‿◠)
What an amazing video. I am an aspiring pilot still at school, I hope someday I can end up like Frank. A legend he seems. Congratulations Frank.
Congrats Frank, You got to live a dream that a lot of us would love to live. I would love to be able to do what you have done in your time. Also you are very professional. Nice video Thank You.
Always think its so sad when a pilot retires but what an amazing office you’ve had during your career!
Thanks Kent! Really enjoy your videos. Your tour of the MD-80 cockpit was excellent. Each one of those aircraft was a work of art, and skill. I also look back fondly to the L-1011 TriStar, which I was fortunate to travel on several times. Happy skies, and smooth sailing. Thanks, rich
Frank thx so much for your years of service!!! God bless after flying so many people around the world in such a safe manor!
I just cant think of a job that would have a more emotional retirement attached to it.

#2 Police officer

Farewell Captain, Many Many Blessings.
Wow, this is a very nice goodbye tribute and I think it was great that family members were there with him too. Reminds me that so many of us dream of being a pilot when we are kids and here is a man that did it and he looks very happy. Hope all is well, Kevin.
Everyone must be so proud of your accomplishments and dedication.
Enjoy your retirement to the fullest Captain Frank.
So great to have so many amazing pilots that unfortunately are retiring.
This generation of personnel will be very hard to replace, especially ex-military.
very emotional, congratulations sir all the best! ;)
This is what life is all about! Congratulations Cap. Frank!!. As your son said. It´s inspirational. Thank you Ken for sharing. Great video!
What a nice write up! happy that there are men with good hearts flying high and yet simple and greed-less like Cpt. Frank. Thanks to you Mr.Kent and i wish Frank a peaceful and happy life ahead. thanks to you all pilots.
Its a shame he didn't get a shower on the tarmac..American dropped the ball on that one.
They tried, but Boston had recently put a stop to those celebrations. Hope they come back, at least before I retire!
Kent I really enjoy your videos...my mother retired from USAir DCA operations at Crystal City, Arlington and she has since missed the "family" feeling working with everyone. I get a sense of what she described in your videos.
They’re a rarity to find anywhere now after one such celebration ended in an aircraft covered in foam instead!
Ruined the engines! Congratulations on the retirement Cpt.
Hope it’s going well!
Jeffrey Chesser I think they only do that when an airplane retires not a person/captain, but I’m not sure.
That's a shame! I'm sure it was MassPort that shut those down. That number of years flying AA deserves a little respect! Enjoy retirement Captain.
Just got all my books for ground school! Can't wait to actually get in the air!
aStealthyPilot my daughter finished her ground school unfortunately she couldn’t get into pilot training school because her medical test she was failed before going abroad for further training . When she was small baby she had fits few times so at medical test sshe was failed . She is now a young healthy girl who is now studying in Uk for her Masters . She is an inspiration to my nephew who is now a commercial pilot in India and flies abroad also . I remember how me and my daughter was very upset when she failed in medical test. Now all for her Good whoever believes in our Lord .
Congratulations to Mr. Frank, handsome young man. Thank you for your excellent service. Now enjoy retired life have fun and take care.
Frank, you have just completed a wonderful journey that some have yet to begin. Cheers
What an amazing career....
As I am a pilot by myself, this has to be a very sad moment. I can't imagine to stop flying airplanes, for me it is not a job, it is a passion. That's my life. I wouldn't want to stop that.
But maybe I will be thankful to retire in a few decades.
touched me...amazing video. Frank I wish you good health and happiness and many happy years in retirement.
Love how he kicked the tire!
04:19 Copilot: "it's my first flight" hahaha LOL
Thanks for keeping all your passengers safe over the years
Congrats Frank! Thanks for your service!
that is so sad :(
Why? Now he gets to spend his time however he wants. :)
fastson yeah but he cant fly these anymore
Joshua Sutherland
In fact you can, if you own one for yourself.
Itapirkanmaa2 yeah what are the odds he own a jet and can afford the maintainace and fuel
Joshua Sutherland Pretty small, unless you are John Travolta. However, what may not be appreciated in general, that you can fly any plane for your own if you have a valid multiengine licence and your health check passes.
congrates sir.. this video really tear my eyes..
niroshan david why
flyer boy coz.. very emotional moment that.
niroshan david u know what teared my eyes? Titanic
lol
@@hamlettelmah441 u know what teared my eyes? 747 and a380 and md80 retired
This video shows so much contentedness. Thanks for uploading this very special moment. I really enjoyed watching!
How cool. I'm 12 years late. I hope his retirement is going well. ✈️👍 🙏. Thanks for posting Ken ☺️
Last I heard he is fishing and driving a Morgan and volunteering at an auto/aviation museum I think.
Frank is like the BMW 7-series of the piloting fraternity - he has a proven track record of being the most stable machine on the job, has a lot riding under the hood but, isn't a show-off still. He is fit as a fiddle and cool as a cucumber when it comes to taking his job seriously (just the way all jobs are to be taken by the men/women discharging their responsibilities) even though it is quite evident that he can outrun other aviators with his tall professional credentials. To me, that pretty much sums up my drawing parallels between him and the top end Beamer.
American Airlines would do better to request him to be the mascot on all marketing and advertising materials of the company and also the poster man for recruitment advertisements. Speaking purely out of my personal feeling, I think that would perhaps be a higher honour he could be bestowed with to make up for the water cannon salute that he couldn't receive; no real and fair comparison between the two there though.
How is Frank doing? Is he flying elsewhere?
Without a doubt brings a tear, over and over.
It is a lovely story to a great legend. I watched this in March 25 2019.
You surely like the Logan to De Gaulle route don't you. Mine is SFO to SYD on the 744
Oh the days where you could fly a 747 :(
Klass! very nice flight! Cheers from Russia!
Excellent video and I can tell Frank is a cool and calm Gentleman.Well done all and enjoy........
I CANNOT STOP CRYING, THIS IS THE WONDERFUL MOMENT!!!
Will he be able to fly after that flight for hobby?
He retired on my 7th birthday.
Best of luck Frank. Thanks for sharing.
that was such a nice video! Congratulations Frank! Thank you for your service!
It is a 200, we don't have any 300's in our fleet
That's messed up they didn't let him have the water cannon salute.
Congratulations on Your Retirement, Captain, and Best of Luck and Happiness in Your Future !! Thank You for an Outstanding job... Well Done !!!
man, that music was perfect with it lol to pilots and aviation enthuseists, we all felt that little tear comin, that was his retiring flight, but once a pilot, always a pilot, he wont stay out of a plane for long :) great video again
Congrats Frank. Looks like your set for life!
Time flies when you are blessed and having fun.
How can you dislike this?
Congrats Captain!
i watch this video over and over again
The seasoned veterans are deserving of extra honour for ensuring the safety of so many over so many years
What a phenomenal job to experience. What phenomenal people to want to shoulder that kind of responsibility.
Thank you and excellent retirement to you..... Our loss.
I'm endlessly amazed by those who makes their lives in this industry. Kudos.
all though i don't know Capt. Frank i think this video does him great justice! I really appreciate you uploading this and hope to see more like it! Congratulations Capt. Frank and best of luck on your future endeavors!
My Dad was also a Navy pilot. Graduated from the Naval Academy in 74', worked in the Pentagon, and flew the 737 for a while until he became a check-airman on the 777 for United. Retired in 2015. I start flight school in the fall; hope to follow in his footsteps and fly in the airlines. Really enjoyed this video Kent. Thank you.
Really enjoyed this - congratulations Cpt, I sure hope you are enjoying your retirement.
Congratulations from the bottom of my heart and I understand what this meant for you and i hope you have a good retirement!

Loved this video! What a nice and humble man Captain Frank is - he's done it all!
Just graduating from the Naval Academy is super-fantastic.
