This latest iteration of the renowned Jekyll features a split downtube which houses a Fox Float Factory X2 shock (Jekyll 1 build) with 165 millimeters of high pivot suspension. Even more notable than its design is the Beetle Green paint job-guaranteed to snap necks at your local trailhead and inspire debate among your crew. Flashy looks might not be every rider’s cup of tea, though you’d be hard-pressed to find another modern mountain bike that beckons the eye to the degree of the Jekyll. As your viewing angle shifts, a scintillating emerald-green finish transforms to emit a peachy-orange glow.
Top quality mountain bikes are abundant in today’s marketplace, though few blend sleek design and rock-solid fundamental performance as naturally as the Jekyll. For riders seeking steeper than steep trails and sonic boom speeds, the Jekyll is an undeniable option. You may burn a few extra calories on the climb than your friends, but you’ll be reduced to nothing more than a blurry palette of shimmering green when it’s time to head back down. In that sense, the Jekyll is a work of art.

Legitimately the only bike reviews I watch
The best reviews and you always shred!
Love your reviews! Thanks from the PNW.
Beautiful bike. Can’t wait for mine to arrive!
Loved this review, and the actual ride had me hooked, very coll
Best reviews on utube.... gr8 job mate
That trail is so dreamy
You’re an awesome reviewer!
Yes!!! I've been waiting for these to start!! 🙌
So glad I got this bike ..love it!
I have the XL ..Im 6‘2 and 150lbs ..the bike is so stable it swallows everything and makes you feel safe
Any chance you were able to try a large? I'm 6'1 and usually a large for most manufacturers, but their sizing guide says the large tops out a 6 feet and XL down to 5'11. Were you an XL on your previous bikes? Thanks!
Your so light!
I’m around the same size as you. Does the bike seems hard to move around under you?
@@stoweboarder720 no I did not try a large ..I just went with what cannondale recommended ..BUT if I would order again I think I would go for the large ..still happy with XL ..but I think the large would fit a bit better
@@arrang_f3413 I know haha ..
Amazing review! I love how you discribe how the bike feels. And i have a question. What camera do you use to get these pov shots?
Legit video as always
Nice riding! Would love to ride like that soon, i've got a sprained wrist.
this is what a review should look like.
Great review brother. This is a bike I have been hunting down. How would you compare it to the Spartan you recent reviewed?
Really like what Cannondale did with this new Jekyll. If I had not gotten my new Wreckoning, I'd likely would have bought one. I like the spec, although I'd want a longer dropper and would likely replace the wheels with something better, but that is just personal preference.
@Kito Kai Wreckoning is pretty amazing. My buddy also has one of the new insurgents and LOVES it. I will say that the traction and handling that the Wreckoning offers, is fantastic and it is pretty playful for a coil suspended bike. Now, it is not as poppy, spirited and light feeling as my Canyon Spectral 29, but it instead offers better composure through the gnarly sections of trail and feels a little more stuck to the ground, but is still eager to jump and is well balanced in the air. It climbs very well, but mine with DD max grip tires, it is not what I would call a rocket and requires a little more effort up hills than a more trail focused bike.
I cannot for the life of me decide between this bike and the Trek Slash 🤦🏾♂️. Amazing riding as usual and the best reviews on YT!
New Slash will drop soon, I would wait for the new model or buy the Jeckyll if you can’t wait that long
@@farmernat65 That's what I was thinking also that the new Slash will be revealed soon. I have a Stumpy Evo and YT jeffsy to hold me over till then luckily 😅
would love to see one of those with a coil
How good is that paint color!
Would love to see you ride a Process X and hear your thoughts/
Such a sick bike.
Hi man, great videos.. just a question: the stumpy evo is a lot slowe than jakyll and spartan? I'm an amatorial enduro racer, but pretty good and i'm moving from my specy enduro beacuse is too heavy and i'm very confused🥲
Oh i can hear the pulley like on my norco range which i hate pedaling up. Will sell it soon since im not riding enough bike parks to keep it. Downhill its just god mode
Is that creaking the dreaded Cannondale bottom bracket? Love the channel it rocks! 🙏
No, it has a threaded BB
@@robkillick7050 Glad it's not press fit but many of Cannondale issues are related to frame build poor tolerance of the BB cavity.
Such a great review, was completely immersed in the riding. Could you share your video settings? Grading, resolution and fps? Many thanks
Hero 7 with karma gimbal on chest mount. 4K 24fps, Superview, low sharpness, and auto shutter for the woods. Grading wise its mainly just adding contrast
@@freehubmag Thanks so much for your prompt reply, appreciate it :)
Great review! Seems the geometry on that bike is spot on. Any thoughts of same class bike, same geometry but without high pivot design for that same downhill trail segment??
That would be hard to say. Certainly all the bikes I've ridding in this category are amazing plow machines on steep decent. This bike did have a special pivot around the hips feel that I've experienced on a few of the HP bikes.
@@johnsospencer what about (vs.) the spartan HP or the Norco?, or any chance to ride a Nukeproof? (Giga or Mega) as those seem like solid options in this class.
Canyon just released the new strive might be a good bet, I've got a jekyll 2 and I love it
i wish you guys could review a 2022 Firebird
Had mine for a few months now and love it (apart from the rims which lasted one run)
I'd be interested to know how you found the shock tune, mines fully open and the compression still seems harsh.
Curious how you got your hands on one so early? I’ve been trying to find one but nobody seems to know much about this new bike.
@@Kevin-666 I'd searched for ages since it was announced and couldn't find. My local dealer told me they couldn't get too. So I got a privateer instead.
Then on new years eve (after many 🍺) I saw they had one left on Leisure Lakes and immediately pulled the trigger, and sold the privateer
Have you ever thought about doing a review on the new YT?
Loyal Cannondale rider here currently on a 2015 Jekyll. I really like what they have done with this new design. Me being 5' 8'' 180 ish pounds would you say a medium is the correct fit? I really am set on purchasing this rig...
I have been riding both medium and large at the same height as yours, I found the large comfy when seated but way too long in the wheel base so I switched back to the medium but fitted a 45mm stem, it pedals and climbs great but remains very agile, I'd go medium.
I have a video coming soon.
Even though you sound like Stevie from Malcolm in the middle on the climb you are an extremely experienced commentator on trail. Love the reviews
you should ride specialized epic evo next
Would love to see how fast that bike can be ridden
ohhh yeaaaa 👏
How would you say this compares to the Spire?
Sounds like a roller coaster 🎢 when climbing, "klack klack klack klack klack klack klack klack klack".
hello, any part is alluminium?
I did not know the noise of that pulley was _that_ distinctive. Just listening to it creaking in that first uphill is just instant turn off to me because it sounds so restrictive and almost like you're trying to break a chain.
Personally I could never have this as my only bike just because of that noise. I'm sure the bike is good at what it is intended for, I just personally would rather see it without that feature.
Really good. What’s your filming set up? Gopro + Gimbal?
Hero 7 with karma gimbal on chest mount. 4K 24fps, Superview, low sharpness, and auto shutter for the woods.
What trail/enduro bike is your favorite to ride?
That thing is hot. Finally.
Orbea Rallon next?
I'm about the same size as the reviewer, currently on a different bike (new Patrol) but with the Fox 38 and Float X2. Curious what your testers settings are in the 38 in terms of pressure and tokens? He said he has the damper pretty much fully open at least on rebound?
I didn't take note of the pressures. I do remember running the fork at my standard sag around 30% with no added tokens and I opted for a bit more sag in the rear on this bike (around 40%)
@@johnsospencer Cool, interesting data point and thanks for responding. You are definitely a much more skilled rider than myself on similar terrain (I live in Vancouver BC)... I run 20% on the 38 and 30% on the X2 (on a 2022 Patrol), always cool to hear what others are doing on similar gear and makes me want to experiment with more sag on the fork if nothing else just to see how it feels... I do use 90% of travel on the fork and shock on most rides at current settings.
@@hobmarg I've set my 38 close to reco from Fox.. then I had to remove some PSI(some more psi, actually) and speed up the rebound. I still don't get it to go beyond 70% of travel even on bigger jumps or drops. Feels very stiff and the control is excellent but the suppleness of my Lyrik is not present.(but, maybe I'm doing something wrong and I don't know it)
@@eugenux Did you check lower for excessive grease that might be blocking the negative spring equalization port? I'm pretty close to Fox's recommended settings (but with faster rebound) and I can use 90%+ travel on an average ride with small/medium drops and jumps. If I bottom out harshly it's 100% travel.
I took out all the tokens and now the fork is a dream
Hi, just wanna ask the intro camera settings please… thanks!
Black Magic Cinema Camera with Sigma art series lenses at 60 FPS
bold linkin if available.
Did you really say that after a few weeks that the idler bearings were rusty and required servicing? 😳
Where is that Trail? Van you make a Video about your GoPro settings?
The Trail is Double Black/Double Down in Bellingham. GoPro Settings: Hero 7 with karma gimbal on chest mount. 4K 24fps, Superview, low sharpness, and auto shutter for the woods.
@@freehubmag thank you very much
damn that idler is loud
What is the trail youre riding>?
This was Double Black to Double down at Larrabee State park in Washington.
Somebudy knows the camera setup of this videos?
Bike looks ridiculous good.
Bellingham?
The Spartan is a more quiet HP bike!!
Waiting for new reviews. Been a while?
We have a few in the works, stay tuned!
Gee, no more reviews? Been 3 months!
Fear not! Our reviewer has been wrapped up finishing a big film project for us (keep your eyes peeled for its August CZcams release), but the reviews will return soon!
Great review as usual. Cannondale is the brand I’m least interested in however.
Sounds like a squirrel is hiding in the downtube.
Why not speak about the price? Or the Value? By leaving it out you make it seem like price is no object, or is irrelevant.
Beware: Read Cannondale’s fine print in their Limited Warranty Policy. They may use it against you for their best interest. My $5000.000 carbon fiber frame Jekyll broke after six years of use. Cannondale never made a finding that it was due to use or abuse. A hairline crack formed at a weak point in the frame. The bike was sold to me with a lifetime warranty on the frame. The best offer Cannondale gave me, under their lifetime warranty, was 20% off of retail - yes, that's right 20% off of retail. I fought them on it over a two month period and lost. So, I am now stuck with a 34lb paperweight. Cannondale has what I feel is the worse warranty in the bike business. If you do purchase a Cannondale bike and something goes wrong, know that they probably will not work with you at any level in your best interest. In my opinion, Cannondale does not value you as a customer, they only value your money. This has been my experience.
I wish I could watch these bike reviews but the presentation is rough. Hearing somone breathing heavy and watching a trail POV might be the worst way to review a bike via video. Take notes from BETA
