2024 Yeti ASR // Bike Review
After taking a decade off from the ASR model, Yeti brought it back.
For me, the timing of its arrival couldn’t have been better as sloppy Pacific Northwest trails started to dry up from a long winter. With fast dirt and even faster rolling tires, my legs are still sore from chasing uphill PRs.
Climbing aboard the ASR felt like being possessed. I couldn’t seem to ride this bike at my normal pace. Instead, I’d immediately find myself pedaling as fast as I could on my normal climbs. With the Maxxis Recon Race rear tire and snappy power delivery through the ASR’s frame, there was no reason to climb slowly.

Pivot Switchblade Talon Team XX AXS Transmission // Bike Review

It’s been a few years since I had the pleasure of riding the previous Pivot Switchblade. This is a model that has risen to legendary status in my mind. The updated frame has maintained many attributes of the outgoing Switchblade but turned up the dial on speed and stability by just a few notches. I can imagine the development team’s struggle to improve upon the outgoing bike without sacrificing...

Pivot Firebird TEAM XTR COIL // Bike Review
Just bought the Trek Slash 9.8 GX AXS gen 5 2023, What a dream! Just added stamp 1´s and Fidlock bottle. What a crazy CRAZY bike!
I had to shut it down at "zesty". bro cmon now. lol
Why do I hear "The Six Million Dollar Man" Opening Theme playing when I see you Review the Bike. 🤔😁
Oh he’s on an electric scooter - clown town
where's this trail? looks awesome
How is the Foam core easily removed?
Went from riding nyquist park to riding a mountain bike wtf
I had an 04’ ASR. I loved that bike. Light and fast. I over forked it ( before that was a trend ) and made it even better.
Don’t understand reviewers like this that insist on having the whole review shot while puffing along a dizzying single track. This review could be copied and pasted for any modern XC bike over $4k. No shots of the bike or build kit 👎
Valid feedback.
Right now I own a 2015 Commencal Meta SX 650B. I am quite happy with it, as it climbs well and is very solid on the descents, fun and, in my opinion, neither too twitchy nor as forgiving as I would like, but I think this gives it very balanced handling (although I currently have a 160mm PIKE and I don't like its behavior too much, personally). Once again, thank you for your reviews, they are very helpful and easy to love ^^. If anyone could give me some advice on what fork to mount on this type of bike, I would appreciate it. I would like to try something else, but I don't know what to go for. <3
I came to see the review not only because I fell in love with this model when it debuted in the World Cup, but also because of the affection I developed for Steve Smith when he joined Devinci, where both of them could be seen descending in that special way, where your eyes and senses delighted in the art this guy had. Thank you for this review, sir. <3
I get the feeling it’s as twitchy as the 2022 Remedy I had. I think you need to know how to tame these kinds of bikes or have a bit more experience to navigate certain familiar trails and even more so the new ones to discover. Am I wrong?
It's impossible not to love this guy. TY!!
I don't know at what part of the video it reminded me of the Propane brand, I thought of the Tyee model. But I don't see any videos on their CZcams profile. Does anyone know how this type of bike is? Thanks! <3
I have no words to describe all the sensations that this story, and within this story this character, has made me experience in such a short time of this fabulous video’s duration. At 39, I have been searching for over a month for a type of bike with which I can feel comfortable to embark on an adventure not similar, but aimed at being able to enjoy a life similar to the one told here. But first, there is a lot of work to do, the first and most important, knowing how to distance oneself from the slave life that we 'must' have to stay afloat. With a bit of intelligence, cunning, and good behavior towards others, I hope not too long from now to be able to live my own life, without needing to have the obligation to get up every morning to give away my time for a few pieces of paper. Like Craig Bierly, I cannot conceive a life without pedals, I was also not very good at walking with this gravity. I have been riding a bike since I was 4 years old, nothing and no one supported my path to take off. It is time to build my own airplane to go as far as one can go. Thank you for this video, for telling this story, and for being there. Thank you.
Amazing review!, ty so much <3
Riding and talking making the riding look way easier than it is in those wet conditions ! Looks like my next bike . Great review.
Man I love how well this channels camera shows speed. Anyone know if they ever shared their camera setup?
i wish next would be the exie review but I know that aint gonna happen! :)
Will you be reviewing the new Rocky Altitude? I'm eager to hear your thoughts on that one.
Holy cables batman
There are a lot of cables on the handlebar. :D
ASR stands for Also Sold as Rockymountain
Awesome review as usual :). Great to see you back on the bike after arm injury. Did you change camera settings by the way? I noticed that this video looks more "granular" than others :).
Camera settings are all the same, but most of the magic is in post in Davinci Resolve. You're right, I'm not sure why the film grain came through so much on this one...hmm
How big is the difference to a Trek Top Fuel?
Probably about $2000
It's been a while, but I remember the Top Fuel being pretty stable and an incredible feeling little bike. This ASR was definitely lighter and faster as spec'd though.
XC bikes have gotten so much better
I’d like to hear your opinion on Switchblade vs Ripmo V2S.
I just demo'd one last weekend. Purpose built for sure and fast according to my Strava.
Almost back to back reviews with the Epic Evo, but no comparison thoughts.
Did you enjoy this better than the EVO you just reviewed?
This ASR was set up for more XC efficiency, lighter build, and less grip - which made it roll faster. I'd go with the EVO in the PNW as the spec w/ the brakes and tires was pretty killer in wet conditions/steeper terrain. I'd go with the ASR as spec'd if I were trying to win a traditional XC race.
ASR vs. Epic 8 (non-EVO)? Any thoughts?
Another point…what is the value of the lockout, necessary or never used?
So, a long these lines of thinking, how does the new epic Evo measure up against the Transition Spur?
@@samd6405 Never had the honor of riding the standard Epic 8!
thanks for introducing me to my next bike. My sb140 needs a friend :)
Nice not having to deal with the Switch Infinity. One less thing for me to service. 👍
Seu idiota ao invés de mostrar você andando mostre a bicicleta
Tacky dry dirt and fast tires 🔥So Good! I'm glad I was able to do this review in the dry to properly enjoy the tire spec.
Great review and video! So funny how you are just rippin that trail and talking like you're sitting on the couch! Awesome. I just bought the 2023 model and can't wait to get it dirty! Thanks and happy trails!
Very cool to see this. I just bought a Mach 6 and it seems like it shares some of the same playful but plush qualities.
I rented one of these bikes for a couple days and it was a really nice bike, but felt like it just didn’t have enough travel. And I’m used to riding a hardtail all the time.
Love these types of reviews. Waiting to see the expert spec and new stumpy before I pull the trigger but I think epic evo is where I’m going.
They fall apart lol
Hi, how I would be very interested in your comments how new Switchblade compares to Trail 429 ?
Wow amazing ride
Glad to know that I'm not the only one riding an S4
Mr Bill Wanick how you doing brother? WWG1WGA 🇺🇲 WWG1WGA 🇺🇲😜
Any chance there could be some ebikes reviews? Maybe the new school "light weight" eebs? Cheers
Holy flip so fast for the sloppy conditions!!! Dang.
Cool flow trail, but def not a Black. I'd say Blue at most. Looks fun though and has a lot of nice optional features.
TRANSITION SMUGGLER... pretty please!?
Yep and that’s totally misleading. What’s the point of giving a review if you can’t say the truth. Garbage will be garbage 👍🏻
Best bike reviews on CZcams hands down. Love how consistent these are and the trail POV while you are doing the review.
he feels like he is on a very nimble package
😂
Another overpriced trash bike with another “review” from this guy that has nothing negative to say. These aren’t reviews This is garbage👍🏻
Yoo - interested in your input, as i’m in the market soon. Do you have some modern trail bikes you’d recommend that aren’t “trash?”
@@guychuxI wouldn’t trust this guys comment. He’s a hater. Checkout the other CZcams videos on the switchblade.
@@guychuxif you believe a bike will make you good at mtb then no one can help you. Garbage will always be garbage.
We must have arrived on Sesame Street... Oscar the Grouch entered the comments. Checks out... Knows a lot about garbage.
If a reviewer is ultra opiniated and negative about a bike I think no brand would send anything his way. E.g Bunachan... Think Spence is positive and instead of being negative or spilling the cons of the bike he simply states WHO the bike is GOOD for. Which I think is review centric and good enough for most. If you want a pros vs cons and full whammy of negatives then written reviews especially on Pinkbike and forums are for you.
