I'm glad he finally got the recognition for 20 long years in the sport. He is very much a success story.
For sure. & That flying knee is likely to get inducted into the hall of Fame some day imo.
100%
My favorite thing bout Jorge is he became a star on his own. And it was well deserved for the time he put in. He wasn’t this guy the ufc pushed in our face like paddy
Id give his career a 8/10. He is a skilled fighter with a well rounded game. Especially considering what era he started in.
Well rounded ? Lol not the wrestling/grappling for it but I feel that .
@@JCMILL02his grappling wasn’t bad, you just only watching him grapple with the elite grapplers
@@JCMILL02 Have you seen his first Usman fight? There is a reason he out of all people got an immediate rematch. He fucking scrambled all the takedowns and beat the living shit out of Usman.
@@theblaze2294 How did he lose if he beat the shit out of him lmao
@@GinkgoPete My point is that it was really close, and only on short notice. There is a reason why Masvidal was the only one that got the immediate rematch.
As a Masvidal fan this makes me happy and sad at the same time
Bro that journeyman talk is from colby fans…. Bro had a high level 20 year career.
And in all honesty the journeyman label shouldn't carry that negative of a connotation. Yes most MMA fighters who aren't cans are journeyman, but there's different levels to a journeyman. There's the lower level, un-ranked journeymen who are mid-tier, decent journeyman fighters who sit outside the rankings and might get into the top 15 and then there's the ranked journeyman who are actually good fighters. Some of them will slot into gatekeeper positions, others may be able to sniff a title shot but are unlikely to win it. Michael Bisping was perhaps the most successful journeyman ever as he eventually slotted into a gatekeeper position and eventually world champion.
A lot of Jorge’s losses are by controversial split decisions.
100
@@collincaulfield3399this 😡😡
You know someone’s career is officially done when Kiiyon posts one of these 😅😅😅😅
2:01 damn that's the exact same punch that Usman kod him with! Crazy guaranteed they studied that
Jorge always put his chin on a platter with check hooks, most his loses show this weakness
Demian Maia was asked who had the BEST BJJ defense outta every1 he ever fought & he said Gamebred for sure
One Of The Best Fighters I’ve seen in my life
I’m sorry you had to reupload this. I’ll watch it all the way through again for you. Good content.
My tops:
DJ: 9.99999
Silva: 9.8
GSP: 9.8
JJ: 9.75(Due to sus decisions, not talent/skill)
Aldo: 9.5
Fedor: 9.5
Khabib: 9.4
DC: 9.4
(Custom Legendary)
UberREEM: 10
TRT-TOR: 10
Sea-Level Cain: 10
Motivated BJ: 10
Chael P Sonnen: 10
Touch-Butt free Conor: 10
I dont know another fighter who was screwed over so many split decision loses
My man is on a roll with new episodes.
Even tho he never became champ he still became a star and got the paydays in the tail end of his career.
Why was this reposted?
probably got copyrighted by ufc
Jorge wanted a higher score.
The Usman knockout is super iconic.
What a shot he took, the sweat and spit blooming in to a big cloud of droplets.
Rad.
Bro, that was a movie quality knock out.
Hall of famer. Top 30 LW of all time top 15 WW of all time
Pretty similar career trajectory compared to Chael imo, both have always been talented but there weaknesses saw them have a lot of losses they could have avoided, towards the tail end of their careers were able to shake of the journeyman label which saw themselves become top contenders who challenged for the title multiple times.
Uncle Chael retired Undefeated
Love jorge
The Iaquinta robbery affected his career substantially IMO. Iaquinta went on to fight for LW title which Jorge never did (and likely would’ve had he won that fight).
Glad you used the correct term, robbery, because that's exactly what it was.
Solid 10
Why the repost?
Legend Yves Edwards , Legend Jorge Masvidals
best ever win 💙🙏🏼
Journey Man
If Daniel Cormiers career is a 9.5 then how is jorge masvidals career a 9
Dudes a legend. He fought everyone and everywhere. He's a pioneer. I understand he isn't as good as DC but jorge deserves credit for his whole career
It’s mainly because how dam successful he became because of it he’s a multimillionaire he’s a friend of the former president of the United States (hopefully president again) he’s made many good connections (bad also I bet) that’s why his career is a 9
the author of the video just likes him xD that's why.
@@AyAngelchillfoo1315Right like Trump is actually his friend Lmao y’all Trump lovers believe anything. So is Trump on Jorge’s side or Colby’s side in their beef? Since Trump is “friends” with both of them 😂😂
@@moversrus4048 I’m on Colby’s side ever since Jorge did that scandalous shit and sucker punched Colby
Great fighter.
5:01 daron was actually my wrestling coaches buddy and when they were in college they used to wrestle and spar together my coach said he could only take 3 kicks from daron befo he was done
Repost?
Jorge my goat
Damn
Sweet
Why do they say he never won ufc gold then later show him winning the belt
BMF belt.
thanks for that...
The journeymen, Street Judas Masvidal
7/10
9/10 😂😂😂😂😂😂>>>>>>5/10
The only reason I know who he is
Is bcuz of Nate diaz
Then you are a certified casual
@@iDanny559 is that suppose to be an insult
@@theobserver86 nah it just means you dont know what you're talking about
5/10
It doesn't really matter how good of a fighter you are in the ufc. All that matters is if you are a "needle mover".
You can be a shit fighter as long as you sell tickets.
I hope you can be monetized again for this stuff.
Why do you do that thing at the end of each sentence, sound geh
Glad to see him getting love. I can't stand all the soft b1tch made fans who cry about him punching Colby. Colby had that coming, Colby literally asked Jorge to hit him next time they saw each other by telling Jorge it's on site. Unfortunately a lot of like I said soft MMA fans don't know what the term on site means. And even then, it wasn't a sucker punch, Colby saw masvidal coming long before the punch because colby tried to hide from him in the restaurant at first. Then masvidal got no respect going into his last fight. Everybody kept saying he'd get submitted early and easily. And I kept telling people if Damien Maia couldn't submit masvidal I don't think burns will either. Jorge deserves respect for his fight career. People say he don't have ground game but neither Maia or burns could submit him, and he submitted Michael chiesa so Jorge obviously has legit ground game. The only fans not respecting him are the new fans who came with McGregor. Anybody who was watching UFC before the Reebok deal and was a fan of Jorge before that knows hrs legit
It’s weird how he wasn’t good but still he wasn’t really bad either 🤔 and realistically you don’t get to ufc if your not one of the best
He was hot as magma after the knee but then his fighting started matching his terrible personality.
Tough guy but weak strikes. Very few knock outs. Very few finishes. Just a lot of decisions. He's the definition of journey man. Very overrated. 9 out of 10😂🤣😂🤣😂
Not very good really
Not very good
If he wasn't really good I'm sure it's because of the systemic racism of the UFC. Right kiyoun? 🙂
They're all very very racist.
He was above average but not great.
Skill-wise mid af. Legacy, though, at least an 8. I'd call it a solid 7 overall. Still retired without putting that fucking belt on the line knowing full well he'd have lost it 100% had he.
Holy moly, 9/10 for career rating despite not winning any belts and having a short-lived time as a contender? Seems like an exaggeration, Kiiyon. 8/10 would be more reasonable.
