loads of sanding needed but we got a mock up of the body and chassis and a different idea for the flat head v8 too! Plus, more sanding! #modelcarbuilding #scalemodelbuilding #modelcars #40ford
Love the 40!!! Looks like you have a Great start and plan for it. Love watching what ya'll are doing with this kit. The engine is out of the 41 Woody. I'll be watching
I went to the goodguys car show yesterday in pleasanton ca mainly went for the models and model show but I saw one of these kits for sale and thought of this channel I didnt buy it but did end up buying a 1988 Revell '68 Corvette L-88 to build alongside a 1989 Revell 69' 427 stingray I got at a model show on the U.S.S. Hornet in October
The 40 Ford mock-up is progressing nicely Bryan. I made the AMT 40 Ford Panel truck this past summer and the hood had issues sitting level too. I've always loved the look of these 40 Fords, big round fenders and that beautiful grill. Hope that you have a great week. Tom S.
I sort of agree, it's almost like you're learning the model kit as you work on it by doing all the sanding and test fitting. I feel a lot more connected with the model when I have to do more of that type of work on it. 🙂
Right . I don,t get modelers complaining about a little bit of flash . Its part of the build and if builders do not like a few parting lines leave them there .we are not all perfectionists The AMT 40 should be awarded the all time greatest model
Solid start Bryan! Stance of the car is a killer. Some nice additions to the anemic flathead.Lol. I would definitely put bigger tyres in the rear, this car is craving for them. Looking forward to see more. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work my friend.
Looks good Brian. I think the first issue was 1963. Yours has a LOT of flash, probably the most I've ever seen on a kit. Remember to clean off those circular mold marks which are on most of those parts. I like your "Super Flat Head" there! 1939 Woodie? Is it the 1941 AMT Woodie Custom? Paint your Nailhead in red like it was in 1961! :D Interesting tip on putting sandpaper on the tire to open up the wheel well symmetrically. Keep up the good work and have fun building!
lol the wheel wells aren't the only things on that kit that are asymmetrical! Compare the door lines on the b-pillars for a nice 'they don't make 'em like they used to' moment. 😆😆😆
Nice progress on the 40 Ford Bryan. I really like those 40s and 50s cars but because so many of them are older kits they seem to need a lot of work, I'm going to try one before too long I think.
I like the idea for wide tires on the back. They sell you on the body style and get you with the lousy fit and finish. Lots of scraping and sanding for sure. A little flocking should hide the cut lines on the interior tub sides. You mentioned that you mocked it up with the canopy glue, does that come apart again for painting?
Having recently built the Revell 40 Ford I think Luka Cee knew what he was doing when he picked this kit for the creators build off. So many things that are issues, extra work here was separate pieces on that kit - making it easy to detail. With this kit, I think we will all truly get the best from each creator.
The work on the hood and wheel openings is looking great, I have this kit and it is a little challenged in the fit and finish dept. I agree that it could benefit from a wider rear wheel and tire also ! 🍻
I hate to be "that guy" but I guess any comments help your channel, but that Flathead is from the 41 Ford Woody, I built that kit too so I remember it. Also on your hood, I'd try filling the underside cut out marking with plastic rod or something solid, it might help keep the line from showing up later. Just my 2 cents.
I like where you are going with this. The stance is nice, and I think a car like this is cooler with a flathead. All that flash and the mold lines were very gruesome. I nearly had to report you to CZcams. 🤪🤣😂😁
Looking good and a very informative update 👍👌. When you say you use the canopy glue for the mock up, do you then “unglue” to disassemble and if so how?🤔
Hi Rick! The canopy glue is like a stronger, thicker Elmer's glue. So parts can be removed with a little effort and the glue can be literally pulled off and rolled up.
@@BGsModelWorkshop I bought both versions, when I first saw them one the shelf, at Thompson's toys & hobbies. In Lakewood here. I have been buying kits, and supplies there since 1965. Got the hotrod version to experiment with ways to try to make the wood more realistic than the box art. That experiment failed, so that engine will go into another project. Still mulling over ways to do it on the Stock version. This time the experimenting will be on scrap plastic . I want the stock one to look good when it is finished. The '41 body style of the Ford line is my favorite. My full sized project car is a Tudor Sedan. Something of a mild Kustom. ( Yes, I am a George Barris fan).
Hi Bob, if the parts don't pop apart right away, I soak them in warm soapy water. That does the trick. Other wise it peels right off and doesn't leave a residue at all.
It is looking really good. Love that flathead you found.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. GREAT PROGRESS ANDA GREAT BUILD. GREAT VIDEO AND THANKS FOR SHARING.
Thank you John, glad you liked the video! ☺️

Yeah buddy the stance is right on,,, looks like a winner 🏆,, gonna be cool fer sher, keep us updated dude
I find cleaning flash and mold lines relaxing, I guess I'm strange haha That's a cool kit
Can I subcontract all my bodies to you Dave for seam line cleaning, lol
@@ramblers69 you bet, I need a lot more relaxin'! haha

Great update, Bryan. When is the end date for the group to complete the build?
That looks awesome BG. Thinking I might need some 40's/50s cars to "apocalypse" for my fallout terrain. :/
Man that thing looks good in the mock-up. Cannot wait to see the final product.
Cool looking build so far, that parts box flathead is awesome! Nice work on the hood and wheel openings.
Thanks Jeff!
Coming along nicely Bryan, that engine idea is going to look great. Cheers
Great stance. These do look like cool kits. I'd say I'd add it to my want list, but that's a damn long list already. Maybe one day....
Great tip on enlarging arches, Bryan 👍. I like the colour ideas too. I think intermediate blue will look nice on that period of car👍😎Pete 🤓
That is coming along great Bryan. So glad you chose the flathead. Your hoses should line up to the 40 radiator. Ron

Next part please !
I did more videos of the build under the U.S.A.C.C. thumbnails.
Somewhere I have a white metal chassis kit from the early 90's for that kit.
Really?! Had no idea there was something like that out there
I believe that it was a "garage" kit.

Soooooooooo much sanding on this kit lol as I’m watching this video I think I’ve sanded my fingerprints off lol.
