The other day my dad said “I don’t say I’m a cis man, I’m just a man. I don’t use these new words that they’re insisting on these days” and I’m still very proud of my comeback: “well, it’s Latin so it’s not really ‘new’….it’s like, extremely old”
Ammo for your arguments: The first written records of Latin are from the 600s BC (the Praeneste fibula, the Duenos inscription), the first written records of English are from 700 AD (Cædmon's hymn, the Franks casket), so Latin is about 1000 years older.
Also, Julius Caesar and others literally talked about cis-Alpine and trans-Alpine Celtic languages/people.

I was at a coffee shop the other day and the barista was not sure of my gender. I am non-binary and I look very fluid. She said " What will you have friend?" I was very impressed! Way better then "mame , sir I mean mame"
Even though she was visually uncomfortable at first, ahe was professional. I will be going back to that shop. My pronouns are any, as long as you are being polite to me.

The trans fish reminded me of a wholesome interaction I had at work. A young girl was checking out LBGT+ children's books and I told her about how we were hosting a pride art event at the library. We were also giving out paper fish for kids to color. She proceeded to show me her lesbian flag fish and said "You guys won't throw it away?" I told her absolutely not and that all the fish can get along even though their all different. It was such a heartwarming moment to see how happy being accepted made her

What I was pointing out was that being trans is completely natural and can be found in a number of species. The transitioned lions *do* take on a male role within the pride of there are no males to speak of.
Im nonbinary and once had a Booomer get mad and stalk my profile and proceed to tell me "I can't even tell if you're a man or a woman!" and I was just like "OMG thank you! Thats literally what Im going for." and he stopped replying.
I know that was an insult when he was young, but it gave me gender euphoria and he can't take that back. 😂

Slight side note, it bugs me when transphobes say men and women are born as men and women. They start as *babies*. Small wrinkled flesh things with no desires or opinions except that they want physical comfort, food, and a familiar big person to be there for them. Every other care comes later.

To be fair I got really confused when all this came out? English class for me was a LONG time ago and it wasnt til a friend who is autistic reminded me about Gender NEUTRAL pronouns, that it was like all the puzzle pieces finally fit. You want a gender neutral pronoun perhaps because you are not comfortable giving them more information yet or you just don't want to describe yourself any other way. I kept thinking, if someone had told me that from the beginning, I wouldn't have been so confused. Some Gen Xers cant remember their English Grammar Classes, we aren't being assholes on purpose, be patient, we get there in the end ;)

It's terrible since the idea is actually great and if government and corperations were to try to serve the public even 10% of the time instead of themselves it would easily be implementable. Too bad Better Help was caught selling patient information. Therapy is Important, and if you can trust them by all means use the service. But taking advantage of people in vulnerable positions, hearing their problems and just selling that information. Its disgusting. And I will never trust them.

Ha ha ha, these remind me of an exchange I actually had with a kid at my library job a while ago. I'm AFAB nonbinary, present very masculine but I'm not on HRT so my voice is still feminine. The kiddo was asking me to help her find a book and initially "sir'd" me until I started talking, where she swapped to "miss." After we got the book she wanted, she very frankly told me "You know when you look like that people won't be able to tell if you're a boy or a girl" and I replied with equal frankness, "Yes, I do that on purpose."

5:27 going to always say this to the day I freaking- genderreveals were started by a woman who was celebrating finally getting pregnant after several unfortunate miscarriages. It wasn't supposed to be this Forest destroying life-ending thing, and she is horrified about what it has become. The gender reveal was a simple cake. On top of that, it was later revealed that her child was actually non-binary. So you know what she did? She threw a *_second_* gender reveal party for her non-binary child.
To say that gender reveals are pointless is to say that birthdays are pointless. They don't necessarily have to have an intrinsic meeting or a point in order to be something that is supposed to be a happy occasion.

Having a party to celebrate your pregnancy is fine. I mean, that used to happen anyway didn't it? With baby showers, that aren't necessarily about revealing the sex of your baby? But anything that becomes a fad that people spend too much money on, or compete with other people over, or which can get out of hand can become a problem.

@ShinyTillDawn actually a few smaller creators have opened up and said that better help locks you into a set amount of promotions and if you don’t meet your end of the deal they can fine you. Some people have learnt about better help and their scummy behaviour but have been unable to pull out of their contract from threat of legal retaliation :( better help and their practices are predatory with their sponsorships just as much as their “therapy” unfortunately.

Kids stare at me when I’m on my mobility scooter, that’s ok, it makes me laugh. One staring kiddo was so entranced by me, that they were immovable! The parent said to their kid “move for the……person” and that pause gave my nonbinary heart so much joy.
I mean even outside of gender issues i identify as a goth, i like goth music, literature, film, and even the cringier parts like how we dance, do i dress "like a goth" 24/7 and sleep in a coffin? Absolutely not it takes hours to do my makeup, put in my contacts, and choose an outfit. Today, it is grey sweats, a maroon deadpool long-sleeve t-shirt, and rainbow beanie, im still a goth even if i dont look like a goth today (also have you priced a coffin in America recently? Quick story of my own past ignorance. Before I took an active role in learning about transitioning I was SO confused if "trans man/woman" was for pre or post transition. I was so nervous of getting it wrong I basically avoided it all together. Then someone I know came out and I dove deep to learn all the right things. AGAIN, your channel has been a godsend for learning and understanding. Thank you!!!

I am also quite curious of what better help has done.
They are awful. It seems like they are in damage control now, maybe. I ignored it when it was Pride Counselling (a subsidiary/sister of BH) because maybe they have something different going on. But I have seen some awful stories when it comes to BH, including people who asked for an LGBTQ+ friendly counsellors and then ended up with a raging homophobe/transphobe.

I know this isn't accidental allyship, per say, but when I was in my tech training program we had a self-defense class we could optionally sign up for, and, on a whim, I signed up for the men's self-defense class. It was a bit awkward, because I'm not far into transitioning, but when the big dude in the class came over to practice with me we went through the drills without a word spoken or a singular moment of hesitation. I had that guy in a headlock until the instructor told us to swap to another exorcise, and that moment's always stuck with me because in the face of a group of awkward young adult men he accepted me right into the group and put me through the paces with no awkwardness at all. Probably one of the first moments where I felt like I really fit in and found my people.

I also used to struggle with differentiating the terms "trans man" and "trans woman" and believed there was only one way to be trans

4:50 I'd say there's an accidental ally angle the moment they say aliens who are advanced enough to travel between stars see a trans woman as a woman.
They can't possibly be so scientifically backwards they can't detect the variation from cis women so they obviously just went (in their language) "that one's a woman, that one's a man. Grab them." In my head they'll just finish her transition to make up for what our tech lacks once she's on board.

Surely, it's not beyond the wit of these advanced beings to make the right kind of germ cells from whatever humans they have if making new humans out of the ones they abducted is really that important to them. Posted this on another accidental allies video but I'll share my story here too.
So I'm nonbinary, and this is back when I was still going by my deadname. My search engine is connected to a news site, and at the time I didn't know how to disable it. Looking back the news site was very far right in terms of beliefs, and a lot of stuff about trans people was very negative.
So one day there was this article about one (can't remember what it was about unfortunately) and I decided to go into the article's comments and defend the person since a lot of people were being hateful.
This one person must've thought I was transfem (I'm AFAB) and replied to my comment, calling me Kenny instead of my now deadname.
So anyways I now go by the name Ken out of spite. Thanks for the new name, asswipe.

Like, you can have a lot of janky shit happen with genetics. Autism can be caused by any of various mutated traits. Non-deleterious (high-functioning) cases of autism were passed down by both carriers and those who expressed the trait outright over the course of millennia, so now it's distributed across the human population. There are some people with XX chromosomes with testes. The SRY gene is literally the one thing on the Y chromosome that's necessary for testicular development, and it essentially activates several autosomal genes so that certain proteins that regulate fetal development are produced sufficiently to promote solely testicular development. The SRY gene is occasionally translocated onto an X chromosome, and when meiosis happens, now you have a sperm cell whose embryo will produce testes with an X chromosome instead of a Y chromosome.

Re validation from bullies: I (a transwoman) don’t know how to process getting catcalled. Because obviously it’s threatening and sexist, but it also means that I look feminine enough for someone to assume I’m a woman. It’s gender affirming in the worst possible way, and I don’t know what to think about it

clownfish can transition ;) In biology we call these organisms "Sequential hermaphrodites", because they dont produce male or female gametes at the same time but at different stages of life. Simultaneous hermaphrodites would be translated into culture as the intersex experience i suppose. Although we're talking about functional possible autofecuntation very fertile organisms.
A lot of animals can transition as sequential hermaphrodites... some fishes, some frogs, some jellyfishes, flatworms, earth worms, sponges, some water arthropods, there could be more, who knows!? But the parrot fish is knews to me! just learned about it today.

Whenever somebody somebody says that they/them is plural I go "Somebody lost THEIR car keys. THEY'LL probably be back soon. It shouldn't take too long, THEY can't get very far without THEIR car keys. I'm a painter, and recently I was painting a trans kid room. It was wall paper on half the I removed and pink on the bottom half. Under the wall paper was white. The walls were going blue, so when I was cutting in the walls, it looked like the trans flag. Their mom took a picture to send to the kid lol

My favourite accidents ally moment was in the comment section of an enby person who uses all pronouns. There was a transphobe in the comments who kept trying to misgender them by using She/Her pronouns for him. They were trying to use the wrong pronouns. For someone who uses all pronouns. Ok! The whole alien abduction thing reminded me of an episode of an anime I watched YEARS ago. It had an alien princess of an all female species going to earth to find her perfect match and she does with a Trans Man... which her species helped him transition with gene therapy. Took me forever to go down the rabbit hole to find what the hell the anime was called, it was "Level E" and it was basically a bunch of short stories about aliens living on earth and what they do when they're there, kinda like MiB. Thanks for reminding me of it~ It originally came out in 2011, same year as Stein's Gate and Madoka Magica.

Transmac and transfemme are broader terms for trans people who align themselves with a more masculine or feminine gender. They are abbreviations of transmasculine and transfeminie. Essentially, while transmen belong to the transmasc community, not everyone in the transmasc community necessarily likes and identifies with the term transmen. Some non-binary people can identify as transmasc but still fell like they aren't fully a man. Same logic with transfemme. Some non-binary people feel closer to the feminine side or the masculine side, but aren't fully comfortable with the term man and woman, as such, transmasc and transfemme terms were born.
Transmasc and transfem also embody nonbinary people who are closer to being male or female on top of trans people. People who use he/they pronouns or they/them pronouns but are very masculine presenting could be transmasc, for example.
I am neither a friend nor an enemy. Trans people are just people. I do not care about anyone's gender or sexuality at all.

Anyways, I was waiting for the doctor that wanted to double check a procedure I just got done. So I was in the waiting room with my husband and this guy that just got done explaining to a nurse why he didn't want to get a flu-shot (yup, anti-vaxer as well) then he sits down and turns to us.

Firstly and most importantly, we look nothing a like. Secondly I've always fallen under the 'well no idea what gender you are so....' (fricken thankfully) but I can pass a bit more male leaning -- like I prefer -- with voice training and people not using my old first name.
Knowing they are *that* type of person we just politely say no, not related but don't elaborate since we'd feel unsafe and don't like conflict. He chitters on -- thankfully just about traffic -- and we just nod politely until they busy themselves with something else.

They/Them referring to a singular person in the English language is OLDER than the singular use of You. Singular 'you' used to be thee/thy, so if someone uses singular you then they are using a newer grammatical innovation than using they/them to refer to a single person.

the long hair one reminded me a lot of my family, I always wanted to grow my hair out but I was never allowed to, my mom would make me sit in chair and use buzzer to buzz it off. But every time she was trying to get me to just sit down and cooperate one of her go to statements would be you don't want to look like a girl do you. It was so hard sometimes not to slip up and say yes that's the point mom, to my deeply religious mom. Like I knew it wouldn't go well, and I was very likely right since I found out after leaving for university of someone from my same church who was guided into conversion therapy by our pastor and I am sure my parents would choose to follow pastors guidance also. So I avoided that but staying closeted and hidden while hearing the anti-lgbt (or basically anti- me) stuff a lot still did a number on my mental health.
