Since he did not actually hit anyone he will of course not spend much time if any in jail. Perhaps just pay a fine which I hope it is hefty.
Yes school buses set you back 30 minutes but then there are tons of streets that detour around the school with perhaps only a ten minute delay where you can drive also. Or simply wake up earlier next time so as not to be caught during morning school bus drop offs.
No excuse to do what this idiot did period!

@reallyitsme1980 you don't know much about kids do you?
I work for a local school district and I've seen kids run away from the school bus after being dropped off. They run away from the school and for obvious reasons this usually means crossing the street opposite the school.
Now if any person would want an extra lane just so they can pass buses well this situation I've seen can make it complicated.
Also nobody's life is more important than any one else's. This means that regardless of the emergency a person thinks they might have there is absolutely NO reason to endanger other lives specially kids to take someone to a hospital like you mentioned.
Go around the school if you have to or simply wait for an ambulance. They might have permissions to go around school buses. Simply don't ever drive on a sidewalk full of children exiting school buses.

    • @davidescobar5366
      @davidescobar5366 Před 3 lety +16

@reallyitsme1980Yes stop all traffic because kids are getting off a school bus. That is why school buses have stop signals and it is against the law in most states to disobey this signal.
Now what I meant by kids running away is not skipping school or truancy cas you called it.
I mean kids and specially the younger ones sometimes feel the need to run away for the moment or get scared and run away for whatever reasons and run opposite the schools.
Now you may think adults lives of schedules are worth more than kids but you are wrong.
Kids and schools are here to stay and adults have to deal with this. Not nagg and cry like babies simply because they don't want to wake up early or go around the schools where kids are being dropped off
      End of discussion.

Unfortunately, this isn't the only incident of people with too little patience. I was at a school in a cab (the school doesn't have an official bus and hires cabs along with bus drivers). The cab driver was all the way in the back of the line. Both of the people he was picking up was already in his car. Instead of waiting, he literally did a U-turn onto the grassy hill, onto the sidewalk with kids still being let out through, and out the other way.
Needless to say, his boss got a call immediately and he was fired and arrested.

This should have included public safety work around schools (if the perp isn't a perv/SO) and loss of privilege to drive, FOREVER. There is no world where this man should ever be able to legally drive again. But likely after fines are paid, this guy was able to get back into his car and endanger the lives of others once again. The law is at their side, they can take as much time as they want to get those kids out and they can park wherever and however they want. If you don't want to wait for 15 to 20 minutes behind a school bus, plan your route away from school zones.

She was on the last step if she would of taken the last step to the ground who new what would of happened to her.

I got angry at a mother and was given angry back. Did she not understand I was angry that her family parked their car on the sidewalk? There is also an area in SOHO that have increased traffic officers as people go through red lights and drive on the sidewalks to bypass red lights and the cars that stopped for the light. It's ridiculous and infuriating.
