Nothing against Jenna Coleman, but Dr Who went down the drain when she signed on. Not because of her, but the writing just got dumb, or boring. Sometimes for funsies it would be dumb AND boring.... We stopped watching Dr Who completely when they got Capaldi, tanks, dinosaurs, guns (or ballerinas??).... something stupid and improbable. It was like for the plot they pulled some random nouns from a hat and said "let's make an episode with this".... I'm taking the dr who decals off my car. It's never going to be what it was, but why they gotta kill it so badly? And not just once, but over and over again.😢😢😢

Our house stopped watching Dr. Who halfway through the first female doctor's season. No. We didn't have an issue with a female doctor. We had a problem with the virtue sermon that every episode contains.
I stopped after her first episode. I miss David Tennet and Matt Smith.

I used to be an avid Doctor Who fan. I've seen every episode numerous times. At age 79, I am appalled at how the DW brand has been warped into an aberration of wokeness. So very sad.
I and my daughter both gave up on Doctor Who during the Jodi Whittaker episodes it went woke and lost us. My daughter had watched since she was very little and Matt Smith was her fav. I started watching during the Tom Baker era.

Tom Baker is my favourite Doctor. When he learned he was selected as the Doctor, he stopped drinking and smoking in public so as not to influence children. Legend.
Everything before Adric was introduced. That ensemble they put together for Peter Davison was the true ending of the franchise. Everything afterwards was on life support.
@chadsensei-ue6jn I watched until Matt Smith. My grandfather got me started on Dr. Who with Tom Baker. That is the only thing I remember doing with him. He wasn't the affectionate sentimental type, but he enjoyed a couple of cigarettes and some Dr. Who after work.
I say bring back 90 year old Tom Baker back.

I like that my kids watch the old Disney movies I grew up with. Cool Hulu is added now but my kids can’t watch Hulu
I quit watching it when they changed it to a female doctor. I could see them pushing for this garbage. I tried to watch the Christmas special with David tenant, and made it 1/4 of the way through before I couldn’t handle the virtue signaling and nonsense anymore. So sad. I loved Doctor Who.

The franchise pretty much ended with the departing regeneration of the 12th Doctor. No shade at Jodie Whitaker or the new guy, but the writers and show runners have driven Doctor Who off the cliff.
Thank goodness for the older DVDs and Big Finish audio dramas. As it is, I am OUT.

David Tennant, Matt Smith, even some of the Peter Capaldi episodes were good. Amy, Rory, Rose, Donna, Martha and Clara....good companions....heck even Mickey.
I was excited when I saw David come back after Jodie, but I had a feeling the woke was going to get worse when BBC partnered exclusively with Disney for distribution in the U.S. market. Glad I'm not missing much.
The earlier seasons were pretty lit, though. Haven't watched it in years.

When i was 9 in 1980 i got sick and had to sleep on the couch a few days. One evening Doctor Who came on. It was a spooky episode that took place in a light house. Horror of fang rock was my introduction to the Doctor. After that i was hooked. I cut up my moms knitted table cover and made a long scarf. For years id miss out on the show but i never stopped loving it. Id read starlog when a article was written about dr who and read all the target dr who books. Most of my friends at school had no idea what dr who was. When it was canceled i was bummed big time. Then came the "new" series. I liked chistopher eccleson and had i hopes but gradually they all died. No regeneration is ever gonna fix it for me now. S.S.L.

Was happy that my children saw him and other doctors. Have introduced my grandson to Baker and the daleks. Animalia a book about alphabet stuff for kids the letter D. We also have all the old stuff on DVD and our computers. It so sad most young kids will never know. Take care
I stopped watching it when they killed off Capaldi's doctor. It got to preachy to me and that's not what I watched the show for. It was all about escapism. From now on, I will be sticking to the classic tv series where the Doctor was always asexual!

I’ ve watched Dr.Who randomly snd have to say Jodi Whittakers episodes lack that something. She was good but the the stories were mild. They had Torcwood, why not continue that? The main character had live affairs with both men and women, they could’ve continue that.
Not against diversity and different sexual identities, but when that is all you have to give on a show it’s not enough. Wanna change things, vote differently and do things that really make a change.

I was huge fan of Dr. Who and watched it for decades, I loved it. I haven't watched in about 12 yrs. It got super liberal, I mean, it was sci-fi, so always a bit liberal, but it stopped being good sometime after David Tennet and Matt Smith. Christopher Eccleston was great, Jon Pertwee, The original William Hartnell was fun. Dr. Who hasn't been any good for over a decade.
Always been a Dr Who fan but, this show died a while back.

I used to like dr who. watched and own lots of episodes. I tried the female doctor. made it to episode 9 i think. I found it to be a lot like the sara jane adventures, only made with adults. it was overly simple. Boring af. Preachy.
That is not a kilt. What they have done with the show is tell everyone they are going to crash it in to the side of a mountain. Then televising them crashing it in to the side of the mountain while saying the aircraft will simply fly through the mountain. They are now producing low grade fan fiction for 2% or less of the fan base.
As far as i and everyone i know is concerned, dr who is gone. Even the woke part of my family can not bear to watch it.

Checkout one of Nerdrotic's latest Doctor Who videos. At or near the beginning he has a montage from that one "is the future all girl? We can only hope!" scene to where we are now with all the focus on race, gender, and sexuality. Really disproves the myth that Doctor Who "was always THIS woke" - the frog had not been boiling in incrementally hotter water this whole time, they just dumped everything into the frying pan all at once in 2017!

Stopped watching when they announced the female doctor as is was suspect she was lesbian… not homophobic but dont woke stuff that doesnt need to be woked…loved the show for decade plus and watched the whole franchise multiple times up until the season prior to the female. The ENTIRE SHOW IS BASED ON A WOMANIZER DOCTOR WOOING A NEW GIRL EVERY SEASON OR SO AND SHOWING HER THE GALAXY… not propaganda pushing the abc soup.

He was actually pretty darn good in the Christmas special, at least when it comes to charisma and excitement and other things that Jodi just seemed to lack. So, I think he’s doing a decent job so far… can’t really make myself be upset at him for getting the job. It’s basically everyone from him on up that are determined to kill the show via The Message.

Oh dear, what a great example of someone that hasn't done their research! Dr Who has been LGBTQ+ friendly for years! Multiple sexualities have been portrayed in it, and some subtle inclusions of gay culture were considered as early as the 1980s. When Dr Who was brought back in 2005, there was a pansexual character, Jack Harkness, who left by kissing the Doctor and his female companion. Since then, there have been many gay, lesbian and transsexual characters, long before the word "woke" even existed!
