  • Sky News host Rita Panahi has slammed a woke Doctor Who 60th-anniversary special after the Doctor assumed an alien’s pronouns.
In the clip, Doctor Who is scolded by a transgender character for calling an alien “him”.
The Doctor asks Beep the Meep what pronouns to use, with the alien saying it uses the definite article in conjunction with the creature’s name.
In a separate clip, the same transgender character also told Doctor Who it was a shame he was no longer a woman.
Ms Panahi said she would rather stick thumbtacks in her eyes than watch the show.

The use of the word woke was never about political ideology but was about social issues, mainly racial issues. It is an incorrect use of the word itself in the first place and was coined by black people originally who were talking about awareness of racial inequlaity. Since then, mostly from the 2010's it has had its meaning spread out, so much so that now it has very little meaning and is more of a pejorative now than anything else. So no, Dr Who was not woke, that is a recent thing.@@peterjermey7235

I think doctor who changes to suit the different generations that will watch it. It is pretty much inevitable that at some point people are going to leave certain progressive shows like doctor who, because that’s how the world moves on and Doctor who is and has been for a long time one of the shows on the forefront of the world moving on. So as many fans leave new fans arrive, which is kind of what a show that is designed to last a very long time needs. Again, I didn’t mind anything in that episode, nothing in it annoyed me (although the ‘male presenting time lord’ part wasn’t needed. However, I can almost say for certain, as a natural process that happens to go on in the world and has been going on since humans ever became Homo sapiens - intelligent, one day I probably will leave the show. Why? Progression. But when that happens, new fans would arrive, and the cycle would continue (that is if doctor who lasts that long and I think it can).
Woke is a good thing, and is derivative from the numerous ideas that has happened within society for centuries. Essentially, if there was never ANY progression, we would still be cavemen fighting woolly mammoths with big spears and generally unhygienic and a much shorter lifespan than we have now. Progression is a good thing and has bought us to this position, and will continue ever onwards so we can thrive in the future.

Now our teachers are encouraged to tell tomboys they really are boys and should look into hormonal and cosmetic surgeries to express their male gender.

The thing that really pee'd me off about doctor who was that if this had been an episode that had happened during the chibnall/wittiker era it would have just been par for the course ..it was the fact that they dangled tennant( possibly the most popular doctor ever)and tate in front of us to get as many eyes as they could back onto the product then use them to get " the message" across ..I thought that was really low even by BBC standards ....I for one will never watch this show again and neither will my children...doctor who is done

The BBC just can’t help themselves. With it being clear that the Jodie-era Doctor had reached an all-time low they finally decided that a new writer and regeneration was required. Shock horror they came up with Ncuti - were they deliberately doubling down. I believe that even they knew this was going to be a challenge because, I believe, they made up a story that Ncuti was busy with other work so couldn’t take up the reins straight away so they introduced three episodes with past favourites RTD and Tennant. In my mind this was purely a ruse to raise up the interest and audience so that Ncuti had a good starting point. This is sort of ratified because the start of the Doctor Who has been delayed so presumably what ever ‘made up’ prior engagements Ncuti had would have been over so he could have started without the need of the Tennant fill-in.
But then the BBC just could not leave it alone. Instead of create a 3 episode mini-series to lift the interest in Doctor Who with good old-fashioned, tried and tested, story telling they double-down with this garbage (and more).
All I can say is “good luck Ncuti” because you aren’t going to be starting out on the stable, popular, foundation that you expected.

When I heard Tennant was going to come back along with Tate I was kinda excited. Seeing that clip - I'm not going to bother watching. I would say that I'm so disappointed except that I don't care anymore. The entertainment industry has proven they are incapable of producing quality so it's better to not put too much interest or energy into anything so that when they do fuck it up you can shrug your shoulders and watch old episodes when TV was great fun.

Was genuinely looking forward to Doctor who, The previous dynamic of Catherine Tate and David Tennant was good so it seemed the series was back on track after losing its way but unfortunately No.
The BBC decided to go with, if its broke, don't fix it, make it worse. And it did indeed get worse. the story line was awful, the woeful way they deprecated men and the predictable spilling of the coffee at the end made the whole episode a 60th anniversary episode to remember, unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.
I find it amazing that the doctor has battled all manner of evils throughout the galaxy and beaten them every time but when faced with some moronic woke twats he fold like a house of cards blown over by a fart.

I don't think we need worry that much about Dr Who. Beeb has been losing around 250,000 license payers per year for about ten years now. A while ago at a social gathering, a chap next to me opened the polite small talk with "What's on the BBC" - that's the first time that's happened to me in about twenty years. Nobody is watching it, nobody knows, nobody cares.
East Enders spent piles on a set and the numbers are in melt down, Top Gear is being "rested", Lineker (MOTD) has blown all his credit as a footballer for a ridiculous paycheck, any decent talent avoids the Beeb as a graveyard gig so the "talent pool" is a few weirdos and wannabes doing shows that only have any recognition of "who's shagging/divorcing who" from the daily blurbs in the tabloids. Nobody knows who they are except for Lineker. Vorderman, Riley and such-like get their recognition from other issues - "controversies" in the rags. The rest are just taking their knickers off in the centrefolds, no one can name-check a single one of them because they're all washed up 50+ divorcees (again) that never made it in the first place - Denise van Outen, Melinda Messenger - that sort of haddock. Probably. I don't know................... I haven't had the Beeb for about twenty years. It stinks.
Very recently, the Beeb has mailshot half the country with threatening letters about non-payment of the license, apparently unaware that all our TVs now are monitor-USB-everything-else-capable and the Beeb have no idea who's watching, where they are or anything, they haven't the tec to ascertain VPN setups nor have they any right to harass/threaten with TV "bailiffs" door-stepping people. All they know is the money's gone so they want to approach Holly Willoughby - damaged goods - with a huge paycheck. Rylan Clark, Johnny Vegas, Sue Perkins......no talent at all.
Since the Beeb is largely now a forgotten force, most of those letters will go to landfill but effectively they're threatening a few boomers and OAPs - the only audience they have left. The major headache is the young. They don't even think about the Beeb.
    But...agreed. Dr Who is poo.
