- Today I'm showing you all how to order a special coffee in English. This is great if you're ever in a café or coffee shop and you want something extra special and delicious.
First off, in a café or coffee shop, it's very important to pronounce the name of the beverage correctly. For example, if you're ordering a cappuccino, it's pronounced "Kah-puh-chee-noh".
Secondly, when ordering, you need to remember that different types of coffee come with different sizes. For instance, a small cappuccino might be referred to as a "short" cappuccino, while a larger one might be referred to as a "long". You also need to decide on any additions or modifications that might be needed. These might include adding sugar, cream, milk, or flavoring such as vanilla or cinnamon.
Thirdly, when ordering a special coffee, it's important to use the right language. For example, you can say "can I have a large cappuccino with one sugar and extra cream?" This makes it clear to the barista that you want a larger size cappuccino, with one extra helping of sugar and cream.
Finally, when asking for the price of your order, you can say "How much does that cost?" This lets the barista know that you'd like to know the price of your order.

Every single class I learn a lot, even had lived for 13 months in the USA. A shout out from Brazil, Alessandro.
Oh, very cool. Welcome to the U.S.
I've been speaking English for, oh, close to 30 years at this point so I didn't think I would really be learning anything (you never know though!) but I got captivated by the video content not because of its subject but its delivery :D
Thanks youtube algo for showing me This Guy!
That's great! That makes me happy to hear.
Great video 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Thanks for this awesome video from libay
Hi Brent,
That was a quite interesting lesson, I would like to try this kind of coffee, unfortunately it doesn’t exist in France.
But geese, that Jenna spoke quickly, I would not have understood her without the subtitles especially since she used so many technical words and her voice was a little bit muffled! It was kind of difficult for a non native speaker!
I really liked this lesson, please keep on making this kind of videos.
Thanks for all.
For sure, Freddy. I had asked Jenna to speak as normally as possible, so viewers could get a feel for how quickly a native English speaker might speak. 😀
that’s kind of lesson is very useful 😊
Thank you! 😃
to be honestly,i am Chinese ,I really love ur video.
I love this video! I want to have gingerbread latte too! Thank you Brent 🙏☺️
Miho, I promise. It was so good.
@@AmericanEnglishBrent Glad to hear that! Stay warm Brent ☺️

There is not, but I'll be NYC next week. Maybe I'll find a good coffee shop there. :)
@@AmericanEnglishBrent that’s awesome Brent! Check out for some nice coffee shops to recommend for when I go there this year 💪😎🤩 enjoy! ☕️☕️🙋♀️
Very helpful video...its help me to learn how to speak natural
Glad it was helpful!
One thing that I like the most in this video is that this is not the Starbucks we can commonly see on CZcams.
Thanks so much. I try to go to local businesses.
Hello, Brent! Thank you, it was a nice lesson and a nice girl and I hope the coffee was nice as well.
Thanks, Mahdi. That coffee was so good.
What's the difference between pastries and pies? Thank you in advance.

Hello teacher . We like all your videos and have learned a lot of English. Can you do a video on rivers. How can we tell if it's a pond. A creek. A river or lagoon and some other names. Thanks

Another rookie mistake, you didn't get any of the pastries lol
A lot of these people in the comments seem to have a decent grasp on grammar, even if they're not native speakers (or typers, I guess)
Doh, looks like I’ll have to go back. 😀
You call that a coffee shop, it looks like a school canteen. Seriously mate, you need to come down to Melbourne and try world class coffee. If you don't believe, do some research. American coffee is undrinkable. Molasses in coffee OMG 🤮
So I'm vegan I never use cow milk cus I know what happens to.cows and baby cows to get their milk forcefully, before I became vegan I was ok with cow milk but I realize that having breast milk at the age of 27 is not necessary anymore so I'd go with vegan milk 😅
Fair enough. I’ve never had it. Maybe I’ll try vegan milk one day.
i really like ur video。
Thank you!
Good video, before I saw weird to say "can I have" to ask food, etc, because if see it literally it's like the have possession of something, don't you think it?
And another question there do you always pay with cards or still pay with cash?
Hi dear teacher Brent, thanks for your excellent teaching 👍🌺🌺🌺🙏🙏🙏
