- Do you want to learn how to order food at a restaurant in English? In this English video lesson I will go to 4 restaurants and I will help you learn 4 different ways to order food in English.
It was really fun for me to teach this English lesson in the real world at actual restaurants! Come with me as I order a pizza, a hamburger, a sub, and some donuts. I will even help you learn some English as we go through the drive-thru and order a cup of tea for Jen on the way home!
I hope you enjoy this English lesson and I hope it helped you learn just a little bit more English!
Have a great day!

I'm going to use this in class next week. So hard to find real people speaking real English in actual real life! Thanks, Bob.
I am thinking exactly the same. This is so good material to teach and practice real english. Love it. Thanks Bob the Canadian. When you come to the Riviera Maya in Cancun let me know. You are great.
It's true! Nice.

Bob the Canadian videos are my favorite to use with my ELL students. His diction, pacing and vocabulary are just right for our advanced intermediate students. We've actually developed whole units around one of his videos using it as a springboard to expand on.
When he was asked about his name, I thought he would say Bob The Canadian
Hauhauha... 😂

It feels like I was with you during all your orders. Thank you so much, Bob, for all what you do and all your lessons
I teach English down here in Brazil and your content is absolutely fantastic, Bob. What I love about your videos is that you offer tons of high-quality input for learners. It reminds us that we shouldn't be chained down to workbooks or outdated grammar-based methodologies. Learners need to be exposed to real-life situations so that they can build automaticity.
Simm❤🎉
I’ve been in Canada for 4 years, mostly for college. Believe it or not, I only shopped at Tim Horton once and order everything online to avoid face-to-face conversations because I’m just too shy of my poor English. Will definitely eat out more to apply what I learn from the video. Thank you so much !
That’s good and keep going to be better 👏🏾
go ahead and do it

Ahaha ! This order crossed my mind at the beginning of this video xD
You are one of the few showing the whole real situation going on!
It's so hard to find something different apart from the typical fake scenarios used in traditional ESL teaching.
Thank you so much.
I can't thank you enough for your devoted work! You enable people from other language speaking countries to access all this authentic material for free. Thank you!!!
The first time I went to the USA I went to a Subway. When I was ordering, the attendant ask me for the type of cheese I wanted but I couldn't understand the question. Now, watching this I realize that she said "white, cheddar, orange or swiss..." 😅
Thats a great experience, I'd like to live abbroad and feel this experience as well

I find it really helpful when you present real-life situations for speaking practice. It helps me understand the context better and provides insights into what people might say in those situations.
Thank you so much for your valuable videos! You can't even imagine how they help to understand English conversation and to find out a little bit more about your country, culture, shops etc..

@hello Elias how are you doing?
Hello Bob, I'm from China. I've been wanting to improve my spoken English and have bought many courses from other teachers, but I didn't find them engaging enough to stay committed. Until I stumbled upon your lessons, I found them practical and enjoyable. I hope this time I can stick with it.

This is very useful for my students. Thanks a lot, from Argentina!!!
You should make more videos like this one teaching the basics things when living in an English speaking country. Excellent content Bob.
I tried to confirm this with my friend and teacher before because I felt weird to say/hear 'having here or take away' whenever I order at a fast food restaurant (the take away is fine, but the having here is weird to me). But it seems like this is what we use here in Malaysia. Glad to learn another way of saying it: for here or to go :)
I am studying for my IELTS exam and I am happy to come across this video.. thanks Bob!
I knew a couple of useful phrases after watching this video. Thank you Bob!

This recalls my experience in the Philippines, it is my 1st-time visit abroad, everything is new for me, When I scanned the menu, I can figure out several dishes, and I pretend that I can understand it, and only choose some dishes including rice, fish, and chicken, the waiter is very kind, and he understands my embarrassed, and show me what I booked, and tell me the foreigner may not accept the taste.
Gracias por sus videos. Los descubrí hoy pues deseo aprender inglés y de verdad es usted un gran maestro. Aunque no lo entiendo todo, los subtitulo ayudan mucho. gracias. Soy de puerto rico.

Hi Bob, I got to tell you your video is extremely helpful. I've been learning English all the way from middle school to college. I've even founded a toastermaster club and won speech champion couple years ago. So I thought I was a fluent speaker already. BUT ! Guess what, when I travelled to the US last year, I was shocked even the simplist thing as ordering in a restaurant or coffee shop, was too damn HARD! There were so many words and expressions that I had never learned, or even heard of, from textbook. So thank you! Keep up the good work!
Hey Bob, you're classes are helping me a lot, specialy in liestening and New vocabulary
