But if you lose you don't play anymore (and also get poor)
OMG!!!! ❤ is this why i like watching the video? it popped up on my feed, caught my attention & stayed for the nostalgic feeling you described. despite it being a busy lunch rush, this in my opinion is very calming.
Omg those games were my childhood
Like “overcooked?”
OMG YES
As someone who has worked at like four costa coffees, the idea that you would have time to WEIGH coffee for every shot is absolutely insane to me.
I'm sorry but costa coffees are shittt, everywhere around the world
@@ChrisTravelsTheEarth didn't say they weren't, its dogshit. But you sure as shit don't have time to weigh precisely 18 grams of dogshit either haha

I came home a busy day at my job as a barista only to watch 29 minutes of a barista being busy.
I really just watched a man handle a busy lunch rush, on my day off as a waiter...
And enjoyed it thoroughly...
Massive respect and great job!
"rush"
Also i have respect for the guy, its just that this doesent really qualify as a rush, good on him for managing everything smoothly, but I wouldnt even say any of this was stressful and wasnt anything close to a rush, just a couple peeps wondering in that werent even served super effectivly
Omg same here! xD
@@bryanroberts7703you have to take in that he is on his own, which is difficult in the first place, and he had to do multiple orders at a time at one point in the video- which is very difficult alone as being efficient with your time is very key in those moments- taking too long will upset customers. i think youre underestimating the situation

Massive respect. Efficency and costumer service at its highest level. Cheers from México.
Loser.
Efficiency? Spent so much time taring the portafilter from the scale for each order. Instead of using the Tare function of the scale she could “zero” the scale with the portafilter on it once. Then and the grinds. It’s not like we are in an organic chem class here and need to be accurate down to the microgram. There was a ton of time wasted so it really is not efficient. But she does work hard and is consistent. Managers really need to get their heads out of … you know.
@@exodeus7959 The portafilters don't weight the same, design flaw of the machine that was amended for the version with in built scales. A dosing cup or two would fix the workflow issue though.
I've been to several cafes in Zona Rosa, Mexico City. Wonderful service!
bro, is Mexico safe to visit?
Going to be there in a month!
“Being a cafe barista sounds calming, I should be one”
What being a cafe barista is really like:
counting it to the gram, my sweet summer child. nobody is going to notice 0.1g difference
Great video! As a barista myself, I admire your efficiency and the ease in which you interact with customers! Keep it up ☕️
Thanks so much! Will do ☕️
What's efficient about this guy taking 5 minutes to measure 18g and then literally wasting time taking 0.1grams just to fuck the customer lol.
As a fairly new barista, seeing you weigh your coffee and steam milk without a thermometer genuinely made me jealous. Smashed it though!
It's nice that you have thermometer. I've been learning how to make coffee for 4 days, and during this time I burned my hand twice😭. On the other hand, thanks to this, I have already learned how to make milk elastic
@@lattuse lol "on the other hand"

Those dusting hand claps in-between actions, too 👏 just extra satisfying. Amazing work, my dude ☕
For a busy shift, the way you handled things and this video overall was quite relaxing

You are an absolute rockstar. Not only are you great at working solo, but while you’re working on someone’s order, your chatting with the next customer and aren’t slowing down or getting confused at what you’re currently working on. Not to mention you’re so kind and friendly
anyone who uses a scale consistently even at a rush hour of service has the respect of every snobby barista there is.
I've never seen what a barista goes through when flying solo, this is amazing! Professional customer service!
Mad respect for this man. The fact that this man is out there working this hard and being this kind in the middle of it is so encouraging.
Man this brought me back. I didn't have a lot of love for hospitality when I worked it, but now I'm away I have some aspects of it I look back fondly on. A bit of kindness from customers never failed to boost my energy on a stressful day.
I love how you gave the gentleman the extra few stamps for being a regular.
I have been a regular at the location I go to and they had me start from the beginning. Not sure if there is a rule for some places on doing that though.
That was great customer service there.
My regular place would give you a free drink at the end of each card, but I went so frequently (daily) that they started asking if that's the "normal size I get" and then they changed it from a free drink to a discounted drink. Lol
Thats horrible@@MissMarvel_
I worked at Costa Coffee for a few months, and it didn't suit me at all. I felt incredibly overwhelmed and stressed. From one solo barista to another, I'm amazed by how well you work even during a rush. Also, coming from a small local coffee shop, seeing some of the exact same items but also with high tech coffee stuff makes me happy.
Hi can you help me decide on an espresso machine please??? You seem to know your stuff! I want to buy one for my daughter who used to work at Starbucks and she loves her coffee. Would you be okay with doing everything manually like weighing your coffee and using a thermometer. Or would you want a machine that helps a bit by giving you a perfect dose of coffee. Also helps with by steaming the milk for you if you want and has a built in thermometer. Basically I’m choosing between Breville Barista Express, Breville Barista Touch Express, and Breville Barista Touch IMPRESS. If Baristas prefer manual stuff might as well go with the lower price.
@@Nurse._.drea28I mean if she works at Starbucks I think she’d prefer not having to do her same routine for work at home, I Cook l, and sometimes I like to cook at home n sometimes I don’t depends on the day tbh ik it’s diff but I’d say go w both options or jus the one that provides the measured amount 🤣

As someone who is a bartender/barista at my work. Your efficiency and politeness with the guests are absolutely fantastic. You have a great attitude and people SERIOUSLY appreciate it without even having to say anything. Your latte art is absolutely amazing, and effortless 😤💯
I'm hoping to start a coffee shop a few years after I finish university. This is really inspiring to help me pursue this career. Kudos to you, Connor.
What are you doing in university if you don’t mind me asking? Business?

I greatly admire and respect all of you food service professionals. It's truly impressive how you handle each customer's orders with efficiency and maintain a sense of order, while also ensuring the meals are beautifully prepared and served in the right sequence.
this is making me nostalgic for my barista days. i really loved your efficiency! you handled being a solo barista during a rush better than i did. we didn't have those built in washers for the jugs so if i couldn't run to the sink (which was in a room behind the counter) my counter was looking a mess! love your set up!!
Such a humble and kind soul. This video feltlike therapy to my mind.
I've spent the last 30 odd minutes living through your POV and feeling like i don't have raging terrible dyspraxia and I could actually work in a job like this.
Props! Efficient and natrually decisive movement. There is a craft in everything and you're a master of yours.
Thanks mate!
WOAH what are the chances I'd stumble onto this comment. I have dyspraxia too and I'm an absolute ditz doing anything hands-on for the most part but I'm a barista myself. I'll say it was a hell of a learning journey, doing latte art and the like is still a struggle sometimes but I absolutely love the job. Not even a massive coffee drinker but I found the step-by-step nature and repetition of making coffee made learning and getting better at it really easy and eventually my co-ordination caught up. Maybe give it a try someday, won't know until you do if it might be for you!
And piling on to the love for the creator I'm absolutely floored at how effortless you make every aspect of this job look while under stress and making damn good coffee while you do it, props to ya mate.

you did such an amazing job!! bro i would be so stressed but you kept it under control! :) your work is very much appreciated, from one service worker to another
wow your ability to entertain engaging conversation while working fast and steady is so impressive!
Best part of the job!
This video brings back memories. Some good, some not so good. I worked many a solo shift at the local bakery, and while I loved the customers and found the rhythm and flow of the busy rushes quite fun, it was definitely better when I had one of two more staff on shift. It was really, really unfortunate the few times I had to turn a customer away if they asked me to do something for them that'd take me away from the front of the shop for more than 5 minutes. An example I'll never forget was on Mother's Day. We had a steady rush of customers picking up cakes, buying cookies, breads, pastries... all very normal stuff. But then a young lady came in and wanted to buy 8 sandwiches. It was so awkward, but there was a line of 4 or 5 people behind her, and I knew her order would put me in the back for 15 minutes of more, so I had no choice but to turn her away.
Normally, I'd have at least one other person on shift with me, or the manager/owner at least, but it was a Sundway during wedding season, and the owner often delivered cakes. My coworker who'd work with me on Sundays would have usually been able to help me, but I think he had either been pulled along to help with the wedding cake delivery, or he may have been pulled away to help out at the farmer's market (where we also sort breakfast pastries and bread every Sunday). Normally, situations like turning a customer away rarely happen, but regrettably, it DOES happen. I had to make a snap judgement decision that likely didn't reflect well on the business overall (and the customer was DEFINITELY not happy), but what could I do? If my boss or literally anyone else was there, the situation would have been different. Unfortunately, I had to choose the lesser of two evils.
Working solo can be tough, I've had some real challenges at the cafe with entire offices needing 30+ coffees on the spot or rushes catching you off guard. I think it's just important to communicate with the people waiting and let them make their own decision.
I hope looking back you can remember the times where it was fun! Sounds like the harder parts of the job were purely management issues and you did your best.
Thanks for sharing!
@@ConnorDoesCoffee Yes, you're very right. There were some aspects of my time working at the bakery (I was there for 4 years) that were extremely positive and impactful on the type of professional I became, but there were also parts that I look back on aghast (mostly management issues).
All in all, it was very formative to work with the public, and to develop customer service skills. I loved that job, despite the aspects that weren't the best. The people I worked with were also some of the best co-workers I ever had.
Hey i'm starting to work in a bakery and I wanted to ask you in which way you turned them down? Like, I can't think of the most polite way I could do it and I wanna be prepared in case that happens...

i did a little bit of barista work when i worked at mcdonald's, and that was so fun but so stressful. i eventually quit because the workload was so much, we had hardly any staff, and the staff we did have would yell at me for the stupidest things. they would also pressure me into working overtime. i worked 5 days a week, 8 hours a day, sometimes 10. i would get 3 hours or so sleep each night. so grateful i had that work experience, but i wouldn't go back in a heartbeat.
