    I know I don’t get onto the bank much these days but always looking forward.
    As I’ve said before my favourite flies are the Spiders but these little critters do appeal too. lol
    Thank you for another one dude. Always appreciate your uploads. 😊

    Hi Davie did you get that post about that idea it would help flyfishers getting started and also it would look nice anywhere 👍

      Hi Lawrence,
      It is a great idea and I can see it really doing well but getting the time to do this would take up a lot of time which I don't have at this time of year it would be something to do more in the end of spring or the beginning of the summer..Thank you for asking and I'm sure you'll find another tyer to do this for you as there's many good tyers out there...
      All the very best Davie..

    Do you know of any good patterns that use peacock blue breast feathers? If so can you tie up some?

    • @kalikasurf
      @kalikasurf Před 2 lety

      SFOTF (sport fishing on the fly) just tied up a ‘guarantee’ attractor. It uses the blue breast hackle. Might be what you’re looking for

      @@kalikasurf I saw that but thays the only thing I could find using that feather

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  Před 2 lety

      Hi Jesse G,
      The main flies that I use these feathers on are the goats toe though I have used it on a few other patterns of my own like the butcher patterns for a wing rather than use the mallard blues..I have also used it on a spey fly that fishes well for salmon and steelhead...

    How do you rate the gulff resins over bug bond ? I found the bug bond too tacky.

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  Před 2 lety

      Hi Paul,
      I have used both resins and tried many others over the years since they came on the market and even the old epoxy resins as well and they all had a slight tackiness to them after they cured so I have alway varnished over them to keep them clear and dry..
      All the very best Davie..

      Stick to the time consuming 5 coats of varnish lol.

    Can i invite you to review Kylebooker New Chest Waders KB008?

    • @DavieMcPhail
      @DavieMcPhail  Před 2 lety

      Hi Kyle,
      It's very kind of you to ask me to review your waders but I do more tying now than fishing since I stopped working on the river though I would be very interested in buying a pair of your thigh waders for the summer months instead of using my chest waders when the water is low..Do you have a shop that stocks them in the UK?
