What a gut punch this morning hearing that Darren Dutchyshen is gone. Growing up in northern BC, we got just as many Edmonton TV channels as Vancouver channels and I remember watching and enjoying him on ITV's Sport Night long before he went to TSN. I'd watch Dutch on Sports Night at 10pm and then watch Donnie on Sports Page at 11pm. Died way too soon.
Now that it's obvious the Rogers foray into BC sports broadcasting has been a complete and utter disaster, I am grateful Donny and his sidekick (that's a joke, Rick) stayed on the air to provide such great coverage while the Canucks march onward in the playoffs. I tuned to 650 in my car the other afternoon and the Sportsnet analysts in Toronto were discussing who should be the next coach of the Leafs.
I find Petey’s treatment of Farhan incredibly rude. Regardless of what he’s going through, there’s no need to act snippy to a journalist asking normal and fair questions. The way he snapped back at Farhan later in the presser was uncalled for - I’m glad Farhan didn’t engage.
Remember when we all wanted to trade the Sedins?? What would have happen if Mike Gillis let Burke sign the twins back in 2009? They would have had their best years as a Leafs
Look Petey always starts well & then fades down the stretch. He can’t handle the grind. He’s just not physically built for it. He’s small framed player who is great early but when it gets hard he’s gone.
I'm not sure what to make of Pettersson at this point. He really needs to find a way to appear less petulant and be more engaging with the media. Or they shouldn't have him speaking to the press at all. His body language stinks, and it only adds fuel to an already volatile market.
If injury is to explain for any of Petey's issues, then I would guess he's been hiding it for a long time. In a contract year and highly competitive, so he might have minimized his injuries and let them nag and pile up. Now he can't fully fess up because he signed a contract, and an undisclosed injury would look bad. Or maybe it's a mental issue, which is just as bad, and goes beyond on ice performance. In any case he needs to start being more open and honest. He is guarded to a fault.
Peterson has got to go. Trade him now. If this entitled lazy attitude is allowed to poison the team culture. The entire 12 years of pedos $100m contract will be the worst contract in Canucks history.

Rest In Peace, Dutchy.
Canada loves you.

The presser after the game just shows he’s frustrated. He’ll find his game, gotta believe in our home grown talent
Bambi40 is simply a diva.
Lots of fans love petterson don't matter if he hides from playoffs style hockey petterson going be same for next 8 yrs
Let’s give him a break, he’s got the pressure of the whole city and this is the first time around. He’ll be ok
Elias reminds me of the Quebec player from the movie GOON. He is afraid of the larger men
Xavier laflame LOL
This is actually funny cause I've been telling people Petey seems like he has a bit of a drug problem
@@whowhatwhenwhere-y YIKES. what a nice allegation to put out with no proof…
Petey isn't hurt...he's been playing like this since Feb

Not true, he started slow and tore up the end of the season 2 or 3 times. He’s just plain streaky and needs to work on his mindset.
@@MikeK826 He also needs decent, reliable linemates.

He looked totally deflated. Tough to watch.
Lahlji needs to go. Thia guy doesnt know anything about hockey. Stick to football.
Pettersson’s press conference - no Canucks gear, just a Nike hat and hoodie. That’s weird and … deliberate?
get your own identity. stop copying don cherrys mannerims way of speaking and style.
