Wayne Goss is the GOAT! I have followed him since he had the tiny, dark apartment with bad lighting. He is so sincere, so talented! A perfect compliment to Zabrena!
@@pwallace5359 It stands for Greatest of All Time. Although I do love that the term spreads the love for goats. They, like most predators, get an undeservedly bad rap. 🤍🕊️
I love Wayne!! He is probably the first person I started following on CZcams YEARS ago and I am glad that you are shouting him out. Many people on CZcams have taken his tips and do not credit him.
You are such a light in this world. Never change. Wayne Goss is the boss. One of his tips that I have taken to heart is how I apply my blush. He says applying it to the apple of the cheeks ages the face and drags it down. Apply it higher on the cheekbone and up to the temple.
Oh yes, Wayne is my very favourite. He just seems like such a nice person, sincere, honest. This eyeshadow technique is for me. Even at 73, I have a lot of space between my lash line and eyebrows and lots of eyelid space. In fact always felt like I had to wear eyeliner of some sort otherwise I looked tired or sleepy. I also tightline. Really brightens the eyes.
This is how my Nana taught me to do eyeshadow "if I _have_ to wear it." It also works with bright colors for a good pop without taking over! 10/10 for small eyes
I agree that with hooded eyes usually taking the eyeshadow above your fold is more flattering, but the lining of the eye that he talks about is brilliant for hooded eyes. I learned that from him years and years ago and is still one of my favourite ways to do it! ❤
Don't you love Wayne. He's one of my favorites as well. He does a lot of the tried and true. Amen, people need to check him out. Love, peace and joy to you as well.
I saw this video when Wayne released it. It reminds me of high school, mid 1980's, when we all wore our eyeshadow like this. I think it gives a much softer look than the Instagram worthy looks you see everywhere now.
This is how I did my makeup in my late teens & early 20’s in the late 90’s-early 00’s. It’s how I learned in Bobbi Brown’s original makeup how to books. Every so often, I go back & do this technique again and forget how simple, yet elegant it is. You can even do this with colours.
Thanks, Zabrena. I like seeing videos demonstrating make up tips and techniques. I am getting bored with videos that are nothing but new product reviews. I appreciate seeing new ways to use what I already have!
As a child of 6 or so, I used to watch my grandma (RIP) do her eyeshadow like this. She would then add a thin line of eyeliner on her upper and lower lids to make her eyes pop. I always thought she looked so elegant. It was the first “eyeshadow technique” I ever leaned. I’ve always used this method when I’m in a rush. I still do.
I learned this technique with your addition 50 years ago. It’s timeless and classic. The only difference is that black eyeshadow wasn’t a thing then. We used a very dark brown or navy shadow or cake eyeliner applied dry.
I LOVE Wayne!! Not only are his tips pretty fabulous but I could listen to him all day long, just a perfect speaking voice and a really great British accent! I've been a subscriber for years and years. Thanks for making this particular tip more widely seen with your own audience, Zabrena. I use this tip on really fast mornings and I admit I smudge the shade a bit higher in the crease - once & done sorta thing... Have a fabulous weekend! Our weather in FL should be excellent for our weekends!!
I think it is very similar to a 90s look! I love a solid or shimmer color all over the lid! It gives definition and a stronger lash line look! Maybe a quick look makeup day idea!❤
It's so funny to see this as I was wondering what the heck I used to do back in the day. Seems like eye looks have become so involved and I don't remember stressing so much about it. Granted, I'm much older but this is definitely something I'm trying because it's simple and beautiful. Thanks and congrats on 600🎉🎇🎉🎇🎉
Ahhhhh, Love Wayne. He has wonderful tips like you said & he is just so dang classy. Thank you for showing us! You look beautiful! You don't give your natural lashes enough credit - they look great. 😊
I loooooooove WG! He's awesome! I love how he's bringingin back simplicty for those of us who don't have the time (or talent/skill) to apply 15 diffrent shades of eyeshaow to our eyes. Thank you for sharing your take on his technique. 🙂
I remember when this was my only eyeshadow technique. I hope I have gotten better. I haven’t worn make up much in the last 20 years but have recently got back into it, also a teenage daughter who loves make up and does it well helps get me motivated to try new things. Love the tutorials!
I adore watching Wayne Goss! He’s the one who got me into watching Mel Thompson and those two taught me so…so much! I especially like the way that he plays up the female face. He’s not afraid to point out what is considered drag makeup. Not that he’s against it but he doesn’t see the need for women to replicate it on themselves, per se. Awesome video❣️👏❤️
I love Wayne! I'm 41 years old and I've been watching CZcams since it was created 🤣🤣🤣, he was one of the first makeup artists I started following. By the way, I've been following you for years too❤
This is literally how I do my everyday eye makeup and never watched any tutorials. I find as I hit my mid 40s this technique gets me more compliments than overdoing my eyes.
I wore my eyes like this forever!! I loved it, but I have fully hidden lids, so it had no impact 😅. I do love the simple and beautiful and Wayne has a bunch of those!
That is totally how I did it in the 90's! It took me forever to even *think* about putting shadow above the crease - and I have hooded eyes to it was pretty dramatic when I finally did. 😅 I love Wayne. Such a sweet guy.
Love this video Zabrena. I wore my eye makeup like this since I started wearing it, lol. I have slightly hooded eyes, I'm not that young teen/20s anymore. I've been flying CZcams videos looking for more natural colors and ways to apply my eye shadows, not the entire face, and I saw one of yours, loved it. I lost my hair due to chemo and alopecia then covid, so I'm now a wig junkie. I wear reds, blondes and some lighter browns. I hope you come out with another tutorial soon, more realistic, easy to do and beautiful eyes.
I saw Wayne's video the day it came out and I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it myself and absolutely loved it. Thank you for sharing this technique with us.

Wayne Goss is, indeed, the GOAT. As are you too Zabrena!!! Question though...you make your Giavonna lashes look amazing! I bought them because your website guide said they will suit my eye shape but these lashes just look very comical on me. What gives! Advice?❤

He is such a sweet person, and so full of knowledge! His products seam fantastic...both pakette and brush but in Italy is almost impossible to buy them without huge taxes.
I used to do this look with CoverGirl's Shimmering Sands eyeshadow trio, with Clinique's Charcoal Brown pencil as the liner/definer. So easy, but dimensional - it gave a thicker look to the lashline with only one coat of black mascara. Thanks for the memories!

Mature hooded eyes here. I find I end up making a muddy mess of my transition area.
