    I like Goss' channel because he always encourages people to think about what they are trying to achieve with make up, thoughtful placement vs fancy products. And he caters to softer looks rather than drag techniques (not to knock drag techniques at all, they are beautiful.)

    • @jasonmack2569
      @jasonmack2569 Před 4 lety +6

      This drag queen agrees with you. Drag techniques are to create an over the top look; feminize a masculine face; and be seen on stage in a dark night club. Also, they can take a long time to perfect. Wayne's techniques are easy to master and look great. I love his eye tutorials. Plus Wayne is not hard on the eyes. 😉

      This is similar to what I do for stage makeup in situations where the face has to be very defined to stand up to the lights but also look very natural. I always use powder over it (the lights and costumes get really hot and sweaty!) and then setting spray or even just water in a fine mist to make it look less cakey. It does look really natural, but unless you have very dry skin, this is going to look oily quickly without any powder.

    Wayne Goss technique to do your face is method I used to do my makeup for many years....moisturize , concealer, contour, foundation, then creme blush or lipstick high on the cheeks. 1970's thru 2016 . I may go back to this method. We also used a white or cream eye shadow below the brow bone & high on the cheeks....we didn't call it highlighter....lol We used our makeup products as ( 2fers ) double duty....we owned fewer makeup products in the 70's 80's & 90's & 2000's then after 2010 everyone seemed to have hundreds of makeup products. Zabrena the face makeup technique was a great look for you. Thank you for reminding how I used to do my face makeup. ♡♡

    Right. I'm a 90s girl too. But I'm really an 80s girl who modelled in her heyday. We used blush then the way bronzer is used today. It works because when you get a real tan, you turn pink (or lobster red, lol) before you turn tan/bronze. How my makeup was applied then? Moisturizer first, then liquid highlight, contour/bronze and blush (not lipstick, but def all liquid). Once it was all blended, a light dusting of translucent setting powder would set it all in place. That done, my face was sprayed with a setting spray and THEN they would add the foundation and powder products to enhance the liquid makeup base. The effect was airbrushed, natural and stunningly flawless. I looked like I didn't have much makeup, even though I actually had a shit ton of makeup on my face. I use this technique to this day.

    I’ve always had hooded eyes and I discovered this technique from Stephanie a while back and loved it. Brilliant for hooded eyes. My mom used lipstick as blush back in the 70s. She said it always guaranteed that her cheeks and lips would match. Xx

    I've been using that Wayne Goss 'reverse application' method for a while. Especially for a daytime/office look, it really is nice because it's subtle. I'm not tryin to do full beat glam at work everyday. LOL (Reality- I haven't worn makeup for the past 7 weeks! Haha 🏡 )

    French women have been using their lipstick as a blusher for decades and still do. We also typically put some (a teeny tiny amount) on the tip of our nose, bottom of the chin and above the crease for a more cohesive look. Trust me it works a treat!

    If you do one like this, try Wayne's tutorial for oily skin makeup. I imagine this super moisturized method would have you shiny like crazy in a couple hours, so you'd probably enjoy the longer lasting results of his foundation for oily skin better.

    I'm a 90's girl... I never stopped putting a little life back using blush on my forehead. I also have lots of freckles, but never covered them completely. They are beautiful! You are beautiful! I always used face creams to thin my foundation even then to get a more natural even look on my skin.

      I needed some blotting later on! Haha! Next time I would personally omit the amount of moisturizer used and possibly the facial oil, but stick solely to cream based products with a light dusting of powder. I think a primer would help us oily skinned gals more here, too!

      Did you ladies see the technique where you powder BEFORE putting on your foundation? I was amazed by how good it looks. I have very dry skin though so I’m not sure it would work on me. Look at Alex’s video where she explains it. czcams.com/video/0VbY1owBjfs/video.html

    i love Wayne Goss, I've been using his techniques for years now. Also I have been using lip products as blush ever since I started wearing makeup, my favourite is my revlon lip stain in just bitten, i use it on my cheeks, nose, lips, eyelids and around my temples.
    I recently scooped out the last remaining bits of my gold LA girl cream highlighter stick & mixed it in with whatever was left of my maybelline baby lips, a soft pink. It created the most stunning glowing blush highlighter duo and i love it. I use the halo highlighter technique by Wayne Goss and it gives the most ethereal look ever.
