I have a make up tip that I have started doing but don't hear about it anywhere. I came up with this tip by myself. I'm 39 and I don't have many deep wrinkles yet but, lines are starting. When my face is relaxed you cannot see the lines in my forehead until I crinkle it or make certain facial expressions. The tip is to wait putting foundation on your forehead until very last. I noticed that when I do my eyebrows and eye makeup, I crinkle my forehead. That just makes the foundation dry down to make those lines look deeper. I've noticed a big difference since I started doing this. Your face should be relaxed when your foundation is drying and settling.
Thank you for sharing this. So smart!
Or like a lot of youtubers etc just do your brows and eyes first (that way you can clean up fall out etc) and then do your foundation etc.
That is a great idea!
From one 39 year old to another: THANK YOU!! 🥰
Yes it’s a fantastic method, but I have seen it done many times by other makeup artists. Keeps everything looking more clean and eliminates more touch ups. But for those that don’t know this, it’s a great trick to know.
Girl, ever since the last time you talked about applying loose powder with my damp sponge I have been doing it. And everyday someone new tells me “your makeup looks so good. It wasn’t bad before but now it’s just better.” THANK YOU for sharing with us.
Same! I have that same RT fuzzy powder sponge and it’s really a game changer for my 52 year old textured skin!
Good to know. I should try that! I have been using a powder brush for as long as I can remember. I spray setting spray and then press it in with a wet beauty blender.
I have dry patches and oily skin, dk you think it could work for me?
Is this something that would work with pressed powders too?
I like wearing highlighter under my foundation. It gives me a glow from within look without tell-tale streaks.
Nothing ruins your day or week, than catching your reflection while looking down. As a 58 yr old woman, it totally sucks. I invested in some fancii makeup mirrors and they’ve changed my entire approach to makeup. (Now that I can actually see my face and all angles!! Who knew?
I recently learned a great tip when it comes to doing your eyebrows. Powder the brow area before applying your eyebrow makeup, and it will adhere to your skin much better, giving you a more consistent, even application. Also, I've seen a few other CZcamsrs demonstrate the technique you used for creating a wing. They called it a "reverse cat eye."
You're right about mascara wands. Been using certain clean wands to separate my lashes also using them with mascaras whose wands I don't like. As an older gal, I use primer around my lips to "dam" in the lipstick. Not on my lips, but in the fine lines on top of and below my lip line. I just pat it into the lines and put a light dab of powder of it. It's the best solution I've found for lipstick spread.
Can you explain this “ dam” technique? Not sure I understand but feel I need to know so I can do it too. 😂.
For longer lasting makeup: use oil-free moisturizer because oil breaks down makeup (that's why we use oil to clean it!). Another tip is using a cotton bud to wipe out excess moisture on the lashes before applying mascara so it doesn't weight the lashes down + prevents smudging.
Eyeshadow primer on your lashes after you curl them but before mascara helps for mascara formulas I like, hold a curl!
Makes sense
@@IceechibiThis is so freaking neat. Wow. Never thought of actual eyeshadow primer. Any primers you recommend? & does it matter more if the mascara is waterproof or not? Last question, I promise..Lol. sorry! How do you apply the primer? Thanks for the cool tip!
Yes!!! Oil free moisturizers are a game changer!!! I have dry skin and no issues.
As far as oil based, water based, silicone based, it’s also best to have your primer match - use oil based primer with oil based foundation, water based with water based, silicone based with silicone based. Of course, some different ones can go together but some you wouldn’t really ever want to mix together. If you do use different ones together, it’s best to make sure to give the primer time to settle beforehand and know that the makeup might not last as long as it would if you used ones that go together. Hope that made sense 😂
Thanks for the great tip! 👍
LOL, I was going to write a similar comment. It took me a while to figure this tip out, but it makes so much sense!
For instance I just started using Chantecaille foundation, how do I figure out if it's water, oil or silicone based? Same with all foundations and primers? Even moisturizers?
I should have watched the whole video! lol If there's any other ways of telling water/silicone/oil products apart, let me know! The more you know, right? 🌠
I needed to see this. I could not figure out why my primer and foundation just looked awful together. Both have excellent reviews and here I am looking all funky and wondering how this happened!
Zabrena, that's the prettiest backdrop I've seen in a long time. Love the silver hearts and sparkle!
I agree, I’ve seen some tacky backdrops. First thing I noticed.
I think it's purple/lilac not silver? Idk!
I agree. This is the prettiest backdrops I've seen!!!!
Thank you for making videos on stuff we forget about, cheap stuff, old but gold things and not always just pushing new products. Your videos really help me as I’m on a low-buy as my new year’s goal this year and practicing less consumerism! ❤
Amen
The most versatile lipstick is a standard creamy lipstick. It’s very easy to use as a cream blush . For a sheer color apply lip balm and using your finger lightly apply lipstick over it. For a colored lip gloss appearance apply lipstick and top with clear lipgloss. Finally for matte long wearing; apply lipstick and blot. Apply second layer and blot again . Finish by using a single layer of tissue press against lips and lightly apply translucent powder over the tissue to set.
I've always preferred creamy lipstick for all of these reasons you mentioned!
These are old-school! Love it 🥰
A little tip I like that idk if others do or know about but works for me is, when applying mascara, I've always let my eyes do the work/applying. What I mean by this, is I usually don't move my hand to apply it, I'll blink against the wand and for some reason it just looks so much better like this, and lengthens them like crazy and you also don't get that clumpy look. Try it, trust me. Oh, also 1 more thing I recently tried. Apply your first coat to the TIPS only, 2nd coat you can either do mid lash or the root, depending how many coats you want, like if you wanted a third make that the root.
I always start my eyeliner on the lower lash line. It works best for my hooded eyes! And I’ve been saying for years how most mascaras are the same (aside from some being more dry or more wet or in-between), it’s the wand that makes the difference - thin for length, big for volume, separated fibers for separation, etc. It’s why I just never feel the need to pay for expensive mascaras. Great tips as always! ❤
Love the heart decor. One tip for making lip products last longer. After applying lip liner powder with tiny bit of powder then apply lipstick. You can also add a little powder on top of lipstick. Let set for a few minutes then add gloss. You need to play around with it to find your happy place. But this makes my lips stay fresh looking for hours.
If you have textured skin and a problem with highlighter looking terrible; use the damp real techniques miracle powder sponge in a stippling motion. It smooths even glittery highlighters. This also works for blush. If you prefer a brush, use a dense small dome brush in a stippling motion. To intensify highlighter while smoothing; spritz the brush with setting spray after dipping into the highlighter.
We used hairspray on our brows in the 80’s. 👍
Also I remember clear mascara.
@@SirenaSpades yes. 👍
LOVE the bold lip color on you, Zabrena! I know you prefer more nude colors, but bold colors suit you well too. 💖
I borrowed my husband's CZcams so I could send a tip.
Before the "brow craze" started, like late 80's I'm talking. I used to buy clear mascara and add my favorite brown eye shadow to it. I created my own brow gel.
I used to get so many compliments on my brows, which I kinda thought was weird, until I realized that no one really focused on their brow game!
Mine was out of necessity! They are blonde/invisible!
I was still doing this up until a few years ago, when a girl told me that my eyebrows were "on fleek!" 😂
If I didn't buy into the brow products that I have now, I would still use it. In fact, I really, truly don't even know what made me decide that I needed everything I have now! 🤷🏼♀️
Love your videos Zabrena!!!
-Colleen 🙂
I’m actually allergic to SLS. I had to eliminate all products that had it. For years the dermatologist told me I had folliculitis. None of the meds could get rid of it so I started researching. Finally after a lot of trial and error I figured out what it was. I always enjoy all your videos and have gotten many good tips and techniques from you. Thank you and keep the info coming please!!
My lips stopped daily peeling once I eliminated SLS from my facewash and toothpaste. Game changer!
From what I've read, the purpose of holding the brush at the end is actually the opposite: it decreases your control, which allows for a lighter, more diffuse application. If I were you, I wouldn't change anything about the way I apply shadow, yours always looks impeccable!
A new "Zabrena" video pops up in my notifications, and I have to press immediately. Your gentle and lovely spirit always brings a little sun to my day. I always recommend your channel to people who are looking for a great beauty guru who is never in drama. Wishing you and amazing and blessed day.
Amen 99% of the time i wach one of her videos before i go to sleep. For the same reason you say ❤️
Beautiful background and great tips. 1 I use is that when I curl my lashes I pull up on the other area above my lid to lift the lash into my curler better. Makes for a better crimp and wispier outer corner. Also, I have a fold on the outer area of my hooded eyes so I can’t pull off big wings but a little bit of darker powder up to the folds crease starting under my bottom lash line & upwards, helps create a small one that makes my eyes look more upward on the ends. Doing that before applying my shadow helps with the guideline of knowing where to stop shadow placement.
I've used some of these tips since I was a teen & I know I'm not the only one. Whenever I see the younger generation freaking with amazement in the comments of a make-up tips/hacks video, I can't help but wonder why that is. I really think it's got something to do with instant answers and information overload suppressing their imagination.. we didn't have social media when I was a kid so we were forced to figure it out ourselves.
I have never bought a brow kit, ever. I add a little shadow to each brow with a small brush (I have naturally thick brows but the color is light), then spritz my fingertip with hair spray and swipe lightly on each brow, then go over with a toothbrush for shaping and let dry. Has worked beautifully since the 90s :)
Yes ! Love the Valentines curtain lights! And thanks 🙏🏻 for your tips

Thank you... very helpful and your decor is beautiful.
I just love you! Your content is always informative and so easy to enjoy and watch - thank you!
Great powder tip! I wear the same foundation year round, but I DO vary my skin prep based on the time of year.
Thanks for the mascara wand info! I love a tiny, rubbery wand over a “ Christmas tree” wand on my smaller hooded eyes!
I've been waiting for you to pop up! Thanks for the tips!!
Thanks for your tips your valentines decorations are beautiful love ya ❤looking forward to tomorrow
Great video! Loved learning the water and oil based makeup tip. AND your heart lights amazingly beautiful.
One thing about the pilling of your primer/foundation, it could also be a conflict between your skincare and the primer. Especially if you are using a silicone based primer. The priming spray will still help because it puts a layer between the skin and the primer. However it is adding more expense when you could just do a little googling and find a different primer as well
YES!!
Thank you Mrs Zaby amazing video
As always l love the way you explain every single product and that is fabulous 😊❤❤
Thanks for the great tips! One I have lived by that u mentioned was changing what foundation I use depending on the season. I need something less dewy in the summer but need to pack on the glowy products come winter.
Best background yet! Love it! Love your videos Mrs. Z! Blessings to you my sister in God. 🥰
Great tips! I’m going to try and wet my sponge before applying powder!
Thanks!
Wow, I am new to your channel and I am blown away with your great tips. thank you.
Thank you for sharing where you got the heart lights from! Your background decor is always so beautiful 😍
The decor is so pretty 💖!!
I love your background Valentine's Day set. It is beautiful. 😍
Agreed with the wings especially with hooded eyes.
I love the tip for season-specific foundation. I moved from a dry climate to a very humid climate and have always struggled to get a smooth application. I had given up on setting powder as well so I will try the damp sponge next. Thanks Zabrena!
Such good tips. Hugs beautiful your makeup today was beautiful! Love the lip color.
I love the Valentine decor sweetheart! TY 💞💕💘💖💗💓💝 God bless you in every way Z.
You’re the best! Simple the best! Excellent tips and yes beautiful VDay background! Thanks for the helpful tips! Blessings, Zabrena!
I tap a tiny bit of my moisturizer under my eyes once makeup is done & after I set my face 🥰✌🏾. Blessings to you doll 🙏🏾❤️
Beautiful background!
Ty for the tips 😁😊
Your hair and makeup look here is fabulous.❣️
Your background is so cute! 😍 And your curly hair is so pretty! I would personally love to see a video of your curly hair routine, what products you use, etc. as well as how you refresh it in the following days after you wash it 😊
Love the background!💖
Oh wow!! I've never found anyone who loves this mascara too!! The big, is the best!!
Love this video. I love the lipstick you are wearing also.
Yes! These tips are great! As many others have commented, thank you for these easy to do tips.
Especially thank you for the tip for textured skin. I too suffer with this fun stuff & I can't wait to try this.
Much love to you, Zabrena & your darling family❤❤❤
I have used the wet sponge! It work’s amazing! Works wonderfully on aging skin.
Thanks for the tips. Your background looks beautiful!
You are simply the best!
Been watching you for a year and LOVE your content! Absolutely love this video! Such great tips!! Thank you!
Love your advices & your show 😍
That Monsieur Big mascara has the best wand and formula. I have never used a blacker mascara - even my mascara shades like 'Blackest Black' & 'Carbon Black' aren't as black as the Monsieur Big... that one's always been my fave for that reason. Thanks for another awesome video!!
I love the decor!! It’s beautiful. My tip is to wipe off my fluffy mascara wand after I use it. This reduces clumps from mascara that may have dried. 😊 💕
I love your videos! I’m always looking for a good drugstore dupe or an honest review of a product and I know I’ll find it all here. My favorite makeup tip is to warm up my eyelash curler with my hair dryer. I get more curl that lasts all day. I’ve been doing this since the 80s!
My go to for those of us that fell foul of the over plucked eyebrow phase and are now left with sparse brows, is castor oil.
I apply mine every night, to my lashes too. It will take a few months of patience, but well worth it.
Ooh I love all of these, thank you!
Your video are always helpful to me Zabrena Thank you.
Lovvvvve your lipstick color! Just put it in my Amazon Cart!!
Hair looks so good today!
I really appreciate this, especially the eyeliner one. Lord knows I need practice to make it look presentable and not lose my mind 😂❤❤
Love these tips. Definitely going to try the mascara wand one. I love the Bite mascara but I believe they went out of business. I love the wand and never thought of trying it with another mascara!
That lipstick is GORGEOUS on you!
One of my all time favorite makeup tip topics. 😊
Big hugs to you!! 💜💜
Awesome video filled with small easy hacks that make a HUGE difference! Sorry but must admit that I’m cheering with self confidence and pride at the moment. Although I’m probably the opposite of a makeup artist, the tip or hack you shared at 5:00 is one that I have been leaving comments about forever as I came up with it all by myself! Please save your favourite mascara wands AND this also works for any brow brushes as well.
❤ from Shannon in Canada 🇨🇦
I reuse my makeup wands when I like. I figured this out years ago!!
Thank you for this helpful video. Also love, peace and joy to you and your lovedones. :-*
I am extrehemely oily and I use a powder foundation over my sunscreen all year round. In winter I change to a more oil based/ hydrating sunscreen and in summer I use a matte sunscreen plus a heavy duty oil control primer. I believe we can change the performance of any foundation based on how we prep the skin. Loved your eyeliner technique. Will defo try out next.
I have been doing the winged eyeliner technique for a while and perfect for hooded eyes
Love your videos I have learned so much from you thank you i’m gonna to try the wing I do struggle with that❤❤
OMG I love your lipstick. This color looks gorgeous on you. You really should wear those kind of colors more often. Have a lovely day:)
Great tips!
Love your videos!
Zabrena this is an excellent video. Thank you.👍💋🙏
