Even though he played for Rangers and I'm a Celtic man, love big Dunky. He was the reason I started watching Everton, and now I'm a fan of the club
Newcastle fan here... what a player this guy was. To think we lined up with Dunc and Shearer up front together for a season, wouldn't fancy being a centre half against those 2. Good finisher Ferguson as well, bit underrated as a player.
What a sound fella, what all our players attitudes should be like
I'm now 36 and Dunc is still my footballing idol. I was at Goodison to see his first goal, and took my little brother to his first game against West Brom to see his last goal.
As a Newcastle fan I enjoyed this, the type of player every club would be proud to have.
dunc is the first player I remember playing for Everton. Love this man love the way he stood up for the badge!

Loved big dunc when he came to Newcastle. Had his poster over my textbook in primary school before that, loved his passion and intensity. Top top bloke
He's right big dunc , he lost half his career through injury never took penalties and played mostly in an era where everton were struggling , he should have had 3 times his goals tally at least
My older brother played against Duncan in the Under 15's Scottish Cup Final at Tynecastle. Duncan played for Carse Thistle but jad already signed schoolboy for Dundee United. Carse won 5-0 that day and Duncan was brilliant. Everyone knew he was going to be a great player.

When Big Dunc made his debut for Newcastle I was surprised at how good a footballer he was. His first touch, hold up play and all round game surprised me - was gutted when he left. They don't make them like that any more!

25 years... I've done a scrap book (2) nearly all the goals shame not enough but lot's of memories. Duncan in is our hero, he wears the no. 9
I was also at the 2-3 win at Norwich and saw the winning header, right before my eyes. Golden memory.
The big man represents the passion and continuity. It was clearly emotional for him to talk about fans booing Everton victories under Allardyce. Tells us all we need to know; he wants to win in the Everton way. Says it all

The bogeyman's mum used to tell him behave or Duncan Ferguson will come after you! What was so cool about him back in the day, is that he was ONE PLAYER that had a bit of mystique about him. He was intriguing. He NEVER did interviews. Players just reacted Differently to him. He's a guy who didn't need to talk about himself. What ive noticed about the rare characters and true hardmen is that it's NEVER them who talk about themselves. They don't need to. You ALWAYS hear it from other people in hushed tones. A true one off. Man i'm SO buzzing that Big Dunc is our manager now. For us Evertonians, it's the stuff of dreams. If the players don't respect and play for him, they won't play for anyone. Especially the kids that he'll bring through. I'm sure he knows a lot of them with him managing some of our youth teams. Good luck Dunc!!

I was in lower gladys when he came back.came on scored 2 won 3 nil.singing his name piling out.unlike others I won't mention, who could've been legends, Big Dunc NEVER let us down and NEVER turned his back on us.There ain't many evertonians who wouldn't put their lives on the line for this guy.

Big Dunc, watched him playing for Dundee United,Ra gers and Scotland,so when my dad told me Everton had singed fergie.from rangers I was absolutely delighted as I new we were getting a quality player,an he has been brilliant,nearly 30years big

A brilliant footballer & the hardest man to play on the premiership. The SFA really must regret the way they handled the aftermath of his head butting incident, he would have scored a ton load of goals for scotland had he not been treated so poorly by the Scottish footballing authorities & quite rightly Dunc told them where to go!

Btw we are form Belfast, so Everton supporters post 1985 are few and far between.

As a Celtic supporter, I was really worried when he signed for Rangers, and I mean REALLY WORRIED ! He was a helluva player, run through a brick wall that guy.
Still respect him to this day, thank fuck he never stayed at Rangers to long ! His whole life is Everton, RESPECT.
He came here mate and he's been one of us ever since .... Any former sins are absolved :P

Absolutely love this! Being born to a Scottish mother then moving back up in 04, he was my ultimate hero. The first footballer I chanted the name of, the first on the back of my shirt. He might have been a lunatic but his passion for the club and especially the fans was unparalleled then. The definition of once Everton has touched you for us born post 93.
Also canât understate how much of a gentleman he was when I met him as a kid and as teenager. Iâm not one for getting pictures with people but I wish my dad wouldâve snapped up while I was in awe.

Toffee TV : Everton Fan Channel just thinking about how Nev said Colin Harvey is what he pictures as an Everton player.
Iâm too young to remember Harvey, bar my dads 60âs/80âs propaganda, so big Duncan was always synonymous with Everton in my mind at a time when we werenât necessarily winners, but fighters, and he would fight tooth and nail for us.
Legend is our big dunc, evertonian through and through. Love the interview boys!

Manchester lad and Manchester United fan, rivalries aside I have always had a lot of time and respect for Everton as club, a lot of tradition and proper passionate fans! Duncan could play, I know in the football world he was known for his physical game and his passion but he actually had a good football brain and a good first touch! I was at Wembley for that FA Cup final and was gutted but fair play! It's a shame there are not many players with nowadays who played with the same fire as Ferguson, nearest we have nowadays is Cavani (a bit of throw back CF himself) but sadly for us he is past his best now and injury prone but always gives his all!!! Anyway, good job lads and keep up the good work!

I used to watch Dunc when he played for United. He was great to watch.
Got a signed montage by him for my birthday one year includes the blue nose pic. It's my prized possession

As a Scot the thing about Duncan that sticks in my mind is him waiting and taking an overhead kick against Germany.... think it was a friendly (I'm old so I maybe wrong). He didn't score but I remember thinking Scotland didn't have a striker who would have taken that on at the time. Confident with skill, sadly lacking in our game now. Great guy sadly didn't get the props he deserved IMHO.
Note the sneer by Dunc at 21:00 when they mention John Collins coming in - Collins did fuck all for us.
Big Duncan. What a player he was. Hard as nails. Took no shite off anybody. Hope he does well as interim and who knows he might get the current crop of players to grow a set, turn their blood blue and get up the table.
As a scotsman big Duncan ferguson was badly missed for us at euro 96 his presence would of been big asset then he was a menace for Everton scoring goals I know everton fans loved him

A Rangers season ticket holder and what the SFA, and mostly the Strathclyde Police did to him was nothing short of barbaric.. He had to get away from Scotland..he had balls of steel and everyone knows, he is a true blue.. Everton that is.. what a love story that became, and still is.. a giant of the game, in every sense of the word.. he couldâve been a legend up here.. but he found home when he went to Everton and he found happiness. Scary big geezer but supposedly a nicer guy you could not wish to meetâŠrespect big Dunc. đđŽó §ó ąó łó Łó Žó żđŹđ§
