He says stuff like that got him through his time there mate
It was/ is a feckin disgrace what happened to him back then, & i've always understood his decision to never play for Scotland again. I'm not even an Everton fan but loved these interviews. I think he'd do a good job as manager, but you also wouldn't want it to end badlsy/ sadly for him so maybe better to stay on the coaching staff only.
Duncan: It would be a dream to manage Everton.
Watching this on the evening he was announced as the (interim) Manager.

St Helens Rugby League fan here with a soft spot for the Blues. A great listen. Getting those heroes who do what the fans want is a massive part of sport. Someone, whoâs come from your background, and gives it everything for YOUR team is worth itâs weight in gold. Good luck Everton.
An absolute legend and a gentleman
At the 6 minute to 11 minute mark the emotional change in tone from the big man is amazing to watch. The line, He was man enough to give me his hand and I wasn't man enough to shake his and I regretted that. Old school values and a great role model for all young academy players to aspire to be like.

Aw just superb. We named one of our sons after the big man. Im am old git, but a fulfilled one and an EFC lifer. Its June 2021, Ancelotti has deserted us and Ive been banging on all over YT.....give the job to the big man. He will NEVER turn his back on us

Leeds fan here. Great to see that video and the previous one on Duncanâs playing days. Lived in Glasgow when Duncan first started and was a fan of his style đ. Obvious from the videos heâs a great guy. Well done lads.

Superb interview, that. We've just beaten Chelsea with Big Dunc at the helm, and I've heard a word today so many times...'PASSION'. He's got it in buckets.
I'm a Celtic and Everton supporter it broke my heart when big Dunk signed for Rangers as I've always liked him as a player and thought the sfa treated him badly used him as a scapegoat getting him jailed for things that happened on football fields every week but was over the moon when the big man signed for Everton and you could tell the two where made for each other apart from the Newcastle blip Big Dunk belonged at Everton and long may it continue COYB.
This man is an absolute legend. Loves our club and as you said you can here it in his voice. Great interview boys...

What a humble, elequant ant totally terrifying guy. This is one of the most engaging interviews I have ever seen and long overdue from the big man. If he is able to install a quarter of his efc passion into our current crop then signs are good. Good luck for Saturday Duncan!
I've supported LFC for over 40 years but I so like Dunc .Duncs passion as a player and coach is second to none.

As one of the generation who grew up idolising Duncan, with me still being a kid in 1995, I was very let down but how Duncan's career went. I believed too many of the rumours to which Duncan referred believing there was no smoke without fire. I wish Duncan had done more of these interviews when I was a kid and spoke to us fans. Anyway, superb interview which goes a long way to restoring his reputation in this fans eyes (but not completely - he still got sent off too often when he needed to keep his head!)

What a fantastic interview from one of my favourite players ever
Back here after the Derby tonight. Even though I loved him in the Chelsea and United games I never thought he would ever be the man for the job. However, where the club is at now off the field, and the dearth of quality managers available, he's absolutely the only man to lead us forward now. The fans were never having Rafa, and we will love this bloke until the end of time. Get him in and bring a feel good factor back. He'll get the lads to put a shift in again đȘ

What a guy
Fantastic work lads, he was a hero of mine growing up as I'm sure he was yours because he embodied everything us Evertonians want in our players which is why it's so important to have the likes of him at the club now influencing and inspiring the younger players through coaching. I knew he loved the club but I never knew, until this superb video came out, just what an effect we (the club and the fans) have had on his life. Cheers

Being a grassroots coach is an amazing feeling to see your team out on the pitch, giving it their all and pretending to be their heroes. To coach a part of the team you support would be an amazing feeling. What a guy! Would love to meet the big man one day and thank him for everything he has done and continues to do for the blues!

This is what I've been waiting to see for 25 years. Always loved the bloke but never really knew him. I feel as though I know the guy enough now to know I back him 100 percent at his job and just as a person. Everton through and through. Future manager ?

I hope everyone listens to him it's not about champagne football,its about winning he's sticking up for Allardyce he won games.and half our fanbase booed wins because there nutters who wants everyone to play pass pass pass 99% possession footy it's boring to me. Nothing better than a long pass and a header 1 pass 1 goal. Remember listen to him.
"when we had Sam Allardyce as our manager and we we winning and getting booed... it was incredibly hurtful, stressful, tough to go that period of time. When we were winning games of football, no matter how you look at it and we were getting booed off the pitch, it completely broke my heart, for right reasons or wrong reasons,, that hit me incredibly hard, and you've got to support your manager... Given up on that. Can't support his defence of SA. He was a disgrace.
