"I Should Have Stayed At Everton"| Andy Gray Exclusive
Have always said , I'd rather have 10 Andy gray goals than 40 Gary lineker goals
remember being at london first time away from liverpool with my cousin after we lost 1-0 to the manc`s we where all in blue flags over our shoulder ,somehow found ourselves at a train station ,pulled in the train staition was EVERTON team ,we watched the players staff drinking unwinding after a fantastic season. Andy Gray came to the Window as the train was pulling away "keep your head up lads we will win it next year" train was gone but we had our hero talking to us that stuck with me forever dont no why ,even going to the games when we won everything the famous night beating bayern munich staying behind on the steps of the gwladys street singing for hours after the game we just knew this was a once in a lifetime. hope am wrong.
Baz i absolutly love the shows your doing with the everton 80s superstars,i fell in love with football watching these players at everton, and am a everton season ticket holder,im from st.helens and was brought up with rugby league rammed down my throat from a very young age like most in st.helens, but everton fc is my real passion and it started because of howard kendal and his team.coyb
Thanks Stephen, I absolutely love speaking to these players. Takes me back to being a kid and watching them make us the best in Europe !
@@ToffeeTVEFC yes it takes me back to being a kid, graham sharp was my idol as a kid,i was made up when you interviewed him.thanks again baz
Seems like a top bloke. If only we had that sort of character around the club now. Same with Big Nev. Always proud to be a blue 🔵🔵💙💙
I remember him scoring a diving header against notts county in the fa cup when it was low enough to volley!! Haha
Great player...loved him.
god i loved that goal
@@daveandamyenglishschool3486 epitomised what he brought to that side in that game.
Remember that team well,we all had our favourite player,Andy gray was idolized by everyone, gutted when we sold him
I wish you did Evertonians love you Andy lad
He was a player with passion and aggression, hated losing, that's why we didn't, oohh some of those diving headers, wowzers ! That team should have a 1to1 with each player in their relative positions to give them an insight as to how to fight and work for each other. COYB only 1 Howard Kendall
Yes Bobby exactly ! Keep up the good work and maybe invest some of your 'billions' into the club ! Haha
Got a mate who's a wolves St holder and he's a legend there too. Mark of a player every club you go to your a legend.
Brilliant channel. This channel is a ‘must subscribe’ for any Evertonian.
One of the only pundits who actually talks sense these days
Spot on Isaac
Great little chat with Andy, great guy👍
That Squad was magnificent because there was no superstars, just great players who was great mates led by the Boss Mr H Kendall.
I remember sticking Andy's face in my sticker book back in the day.
Maybe people know Evertons history that's why we dont get mentioned.
VAR dont get me started.
2 players that left #EFC that I cried over losing. Bally and that guy, pure CLASS
Maybe Everton could have won the European cup in 1986, maybe not in 1988, we will never know.
Great stuff Baz
Good guy, Andy, Hated how sky treated him. Complete stitch up job. I’m a little young to remember his playing days but know he was decent
Remember your first game for us.
A night game?
Just new youd be brilliant.
There wasn't many of us there, pre sky days.
such a commited player andy was in is efforts at everton
The most influential Everton player along with Peter Reid by a mile over the last 50 years,a born winner/fighter,you should have stayed Andy.I reckon we would have won a few more trophies with him in the dressing room, thanks anyway mate you were awesome.
An Everton legend!...💙
Wonderful to hear a Legend speak about our club 😀 you’ll need to do your roots soon baz 😂
Haha naah salt and pepper will do Peter :) .... As for Andy he is great
Great vid 👍🏻
One of the Everton greats was Andy no doubt about that.
Loved that interview, and gray was brilliant one question I would of liked answered I feel he had a perfect opportunity to manage the club, does he think it was a miss timing with no funds to produce what we had in the eighties.
I have asked him before about managing us and he maintains he was never ever offered the job, says if he was he would have bitten Johnson's hand off but they didn't seem interested in giving him it. Weird
Not that weird he didn't have any managerial experience whatsoever! Admittedly we were scraping the barrel, and there weren't too many takers at the time. Dark days them I remember.
It really pissed me off when after we asked him to be the manager he decided to stick with an improved sky deal
@@ianclarke3627 ... He was never offered the job Ian. He said he would have bitten off PJs hand if he had been offered it.
@@ToffeeTVEFC Oh right, thanks for correcting me, he's back up there with Reidy and Sharpy.UTFT
I am a Liverpool fan that Everton team of 84:85 was as good as any Liverpool team probably better
I have no doubt in my mind we would have won the European Cup. That ban was a fucking disgrace. Should only have been two teams that got a five year ban. Disgraceful.
It was a total stitch up by UEFA. They wanted British teams out because we were winning so much and they hated us for it.
Only Andy, Bale and Ronaldo have won the young and senior player of the season in the same campaign. EFC 1878.
Sure join back now 😀
They should have banned Liverpool for ten years and let that be a lesson, but UEFA wanted to get rid of English clubs becaus we were winning so much and they hated us. It wasn't just the hooligans...I don't remmember Everton fans wrecking places. It was at that point I really started to loathe the Red S.h.ite for what they did. Before that I had a sneaking admiration. Everton could really have had some prolongued success.
Yeah....that's when Bitterness was born....💙......will never forgive the gobshites!..
Everton would have won the European cup in 1986 and dominate the 90s if English clubs were not banned from Europe
"Andy Gray is an Evertonian"
Maybe it was the right time to sell Andy though. He did nothing in the game after leaving Everton.
He was shite when he went back to Villa.
Mind the rest of the team were as well.
Because it was a step down for the great man....💙Everton legend......
As great as the 85 team was The 1970 team was superior 💙🧡
I seen the both.....💙.....so hard to choose...😱💙
He was brilliant at Everton but Gary Lineker at Everton was better
?
