This was the only Jim Carrey movie that made my dad crack up laughing in the theaters back in 1997 and he hated Jim Carrey.

At no point have I criticized him or insulted him (Jim Carrey) I was merely expounding on the Original post as to perhaps why his dad may have hated Jim. I certainly dont hate him. But take away the pulling faces and it's no longer as funny. The scene is funny no doubt but Jim's style of acting is abit like an 11 year old stuck in an adults body. Not that I'm taking anything away from the man. He is a good actor no doubt. But I dont ever find myself in hysterics when watching him. You probably do find him funny. That's you.

Nah the leaders must have the privilege to lie for the common good.... Three examples the covid restrictions were supposed to last 15 days when all started, they knew the problem could be only resolved with a vaccine in a year or little more but they lied. In 2007-2008 the FED authorities lied to avoid panic in the markets since they knew the problems with debt insolvency, and finally in WW2 most of the American people were against involvement in the war, and in public FDR promised to never be involved, but he worked in the opposite direction.
You missed the lesson of the film because Carey was able to win the case by telling the truth but a technicality ruined the father's life.

I know that the cognoscenti have "Raging Bull" and "Citizen Kane"....... but Jim C in "LIar, Liar" is a cinematic gem. Can watch it 10x. Those two films are fine achievements in cinema art, and in explaining the human condition. Laughing at the absurdity of life is also an artistic achievement and Jim C is a master of his art.
