Great video, Tony!!!! I just brought home a new Husqvarna 125B from lowes Largo, Fl yesterday. The instructions were not clear at all. After watching your video a couple of times, I put it together easily!!! I'll try it tomorrow because it just got dark here. The H 125B was $140.00, but the Husqvarna BVX is closer to $300.00 Whoever priced your item probably mixed the two models up. Maybe you could get some money back. Thank you again for making it so easy and enjoyable!!!!
Thanks for a simple and well videoed segment.
This was really helpful thanks!
Great video! Didn't get the Quick Start Instructions, so this really helped!
Glad it helped!
Nice video, thanks from Germany!
Great info. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Tony! I've gotten to the point whenever I buy something I just check CZcams for the real instructions!
Thank you very much
6 months later you are still awesome 😎! Thank you more than you know.
I just bought me one yesterday
I wish I knew what the purpose was of the pre-cranking before official starting, Could it be some kind of pre-lubricating step for the Pistons and the Valves before the official start up?
Yeah I’m not sure to be honest. That might just be for the initial start up. Each time I use it now, I just do the full choke with 3 pulls at which point it fires up then dies, then I switch to half choke and pull 1 more time and it fires up. Let it idle a few seconds then switch choke all the way off. It’s like clockwork every time I use it, 4 pulls. Lol
On that last instruction step: I believe they meant after holding the throttle at full on half choke, to let it warm up for 1min *before* using the machine.
Great video still.
Instructions unclear, chopped hand off 🤣
That exact blower
Hey this has nothing to do with the video but that 08 Dodge Ram you had in the beginning that you dyno. Did you ever improve the horse power on that? Or make another video on the upgrades and dyno to see if you increased hp?
Unfortunately, I never got to do any mods to it because it got totaled out. It also should have dynod at slightly higher power numbers, but they didn’t want to run my truck up to 140 mph on the dyno as they were afraid of the drive shaft failing.
You don't actually have to take the bolt out, just loosen a little
Just got mine today from lowes and man that thing runs rough. Straight out of the box it rattles and the one in the video must be a different model cause my 125B is underpowered compared to the one shown. I bought it to replace the cheaper one i got from Walmart because Husqvarna said on the package and in their videos that its 170MPH however, it appears that the cheaper Walmart one has a much stronger blowing force and doesn't shake and rattle. this one will be going back to lowes and will try
Yeah that’s odd. I’m not sure how close any of the MPH ratings are to be honest, this is my first gas leaf blower and it works great for around the house. I did have mine start making this odd rattling noise like my 5th time using it and it didn’t seem to want to go full blast but I never had that issue again, it was weird.
Correction, the price was $150, but since I used my Lowes credit card I got a discount of $7.58 making the final price $141.55 before tax.
Hi, thanks for sharing your opinion. I just received my blower and as another wrote, your instructions were far greater better than the inserts. I’ve had a few blowers in the past and thought I’d try the Husqvarna blower and I’m a bit disappointed. The power in the Toro, purchased at Home Depot is much more stronger than this one. I’m going to try dropping the attachment tomorrow ti see if it fixes the problem otherwise I’ll return it and repurchase the Toro which is $60 cheaper.
Thanks again!
Yeah, honestly I don’t really have anything to compare it to and I’m not sure how it stacks up against others. All I know is it beats sweeping and raking lol
@@TonyTheTruckGuy
Going to try adjusting the carburetor gauge… perhaps it’s an elevation issue.
Thx again!
Do you know if there’s anyway to add a vacuum kit to the 125B model?
Haven’t tried it myself, but it looks like they make a kit for about $40. Just Google “Husqvarna 125B vacuum attachment”.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy had someone reply to me on Amazon saying they wouldn’t recommend it because it’s very difficult to get the retaining nut off. Debating if I should try to do it lol
@@michaeloliveira4060 Yeah that’s a tough one. Makes you wonder though if it was just operator error lol. I’d read some other reviews.
Might as well buy another carburetor ($12-$15) when you buy the 125B. The #1 problem with these is a clogged carb--which is almost impossible to clean. Lots of youtube videos on fixing this problem and changing the carb.
Hmm. I wonder if this is more prominent with people using gasoline with ethanol in it and being stored for long periods? I use 91 non-oxy to mix with my 2 cycle oil and I have not touched the carb or added any fuel stabilizer since I got it almost 4 years ago haha. Good to know a new carb is pretty cheap, though!
@@TonyTheTruckGuy I have always run ethanol-free gas & 2 stroke oil, that's all. It lasted 7 years on the original carb. You cannot get the last few drops of gas out, so when it sits over the winter that's when it gets clogged.
@@Fred2-123 Yeah I haven't even drained mine each year haha, just run it low. 7 years isn't too terrible though.
Do we have to repeat the process When we use it again?
If you look on the leaf blower closely there’s a sticker right above the fuel tank on the air filter cover that has the normal run procedures. It’s not as in depth as the initial start up. Basically just pump the primer a few times and slide the choke over to 3 and give it a few pulls and then switch the choke to 2 once it starts and dies or starts running, then flip the choke off completely after about 30 seconds. Pretty standard procedure for anything gas powered.
ever tried it in snow? thanks!
Not yet. I’m sure it would work on the light fluffy stuff, but not so much on the wet heavy stuff
$300 now.
Just got one as well and I'm liking it. How has it been in the 3 years?
Mine is still holding up! Always starts when doing the correct startup procedure. It was making a weird noise for a little while last year but that went away, so maybe there was a leaf stuck in it or something lol
Thank you for getting back to me!@@TonyTheTruckGuy
@@slotvalleyracing No problem at all. I hope yours is good to you!
Can the vacuum bagger fit with this model.???
I would guess so but I don't have that attachment so I'm not sure. I'd imagine they would list on their website which models the bagger kit works with.
I would suggest definitely 91 octane or 92, that is ethanol free. As well adding stabilizer to the gas as well
Yeah not a bad idea. I did use stabilizer after I ran the fuel low for storage this winter. I don’t feel it’s necessary during the months of use where fresh fuel is going through it.
Agreed! Great video Tony!
@@mjones6115mj Thank you for the feedback!
@His Masters Voice Not quite sure how Ron compares to octane, but around here, 91 is considered good. You can get E85 or 110, but 110 is super expensive. 93 is a little hard to come by.
Mine arrived missing the first pipe that attaches to the blower itself. Ugh
Most annoying. Where did you get it, and were you able to contact the seller?
How has it held up?
Good so far, but I've only had it a few months.
Awesome
You haven't had any problems with it?
@@gagegarton6844 Not yet.
I think squeeze of the trigger means a full squeeze, but without holding it.
Possibly! But it did say “squeeze throttle trigger fully through all remaining steps” and the only remaining steps were to turn the choke off and allow engine to warm up for 1 minute. Either way it didn’t blow up I guess 🤣 pretty happy with it for the price.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy Strange. But it's not good to do it every time for sure. Chainsaws have returning chokes, so maybe it got mixed up, or something. Like they thought that with the squeete of the trigger will set the choke off, and you can let it idle. But it's still strange that they typed to hold the trigger.
@@TonyTheTruckGuy I am jealous a bit tho, as you've said it costs 150-200 $ there. Here in hungary, the same costs almost 400$, it's insane. We have the mcculloch gbv 322, which has nearly the same specs, and that costs around what you've said for this one. But if I had the choice, for that price, I'd go for the husqy. But there is no way that I'm going to buy it for twice as much here.
Well they did say to turn the choke off directly after squeezing the throttle, so I guess they just expect you to be fast about it haha. But yeah, probably should have reversed those 2 steps. I don’t recommend running at full throttle with choke on. I have an old McCulloch chainsaw and I’m pretty proud of it still running haha. Are those prices that you listed USD or your currency?
@@TonyTheTruckGuy In USD approximately.
Just bought one for 10 buck at a garage sale. Former owner does not watch CZcams 🤫
😂😂
You got Ripped Off I paid $60 with free delivery...I have the same P O S and after al lot of work it NOW IT RUNS GREAT !. I had to dremmel a slot in the Fuel Jet Set Scew on the right as you are looking at right side of Blower and at the carburetor. Then take a small flat screw driver and back the screw out a 1/2 turn. This gets it running but it still can't Exhale so (Like a bannana in a tail pipe ) It stalls. I took off the cover and spark arrester screen and took a 3/8" drill bit and drilled out the existing tiny hole and added another inside the inset area. I use a 1/2" socket on an electric drill turning Clockwise to start and it runs excellent now. Good Luck.
Huh. I had a small issue where mine was making like a rattling noise and seemed a bit low on power but that corrected itself and it’s worked fine ever since. I bought mine through an action for a charity ride so the extra money was for a cause. Where did you find one for $60? I’m wondering if that’s why you’re having issues lol
Sounds more like you got ripped off 😅
160 new lol
The one I got was new so I only overpaid by about $10 haha. It was for a good cause.
Mine just craped out after only 4 years of light use.Only husqvarna i have ever owned and i will not get another. JUNK JUNK JUNK
Beats the 1 season I got out of my Remington weed whip 😂
@@TonyTheTruckGuy I’m going to get an electric one this time
@@DonRyanWA I’ll probably bite the bullet and get a Milwaukee when this one craps out since I have a lot of other Milwaukee tools
Guarantee it was a simple fix. Most often, lack of fuel management at the end of the season. Sounds like battery is the way to go for you.
€340 in Ireland 🤬
That’s crazy
@@TonyTheTruckGuy I know. We are getting ripped off over here. Ireland is now the most expensive country in Europe
