    I messed up and din't show the run time. Not sure why I didn't, but I just ran with 2 batteries both 4AH and fully charged. One being an older battery that gets used a lot lasted 10 minutes and 30 seconds. The brand new one lasted 11 minutes and 15 seconds. I have not seen in any description for these what the runtime is, but this is what I got in a climate controlled garage at 70 degrees. I would expect different results in much colder or hotter temps.

      Great review! One comment: you need to use an HP battery with the new one to experience its full power. I used mine with both, and the difference is quite staggering.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Před 6 měsíci

      @@mottishaked1446 I’ll have to check what kind mine are, but if they are not HP I’ll wait for the new edge batteries. I have 20 18v batteries and don’t want to change. I’ll just run 2 4AH if I have to. I’m pretty sure the new battery I tried was an HP.

      If you got the bug blower this isn’t needed. It has its place though for travel and people in apartments or townhomes. Focused areas it’s good as well. Does really good with the wheels and areas the big blower can’t fit.

    Just ordered that new Ryobi brushless blower today. I've been trying to find the kit (the one that comes with the tool, battery, and charger) for weeks now and it was never in stock or available to order anywhere near me. Finally saw it become available to order this afternoon and jumped on it right away. It should be here in a couple of days and I'm looking forward to getting it. It will be used exclusively for when I wash my cars. I already have an Ego Power+ 650 CFM blower (with a stubby nozzle attachment) that I've been using for a couple of years now but I wanted something more compact and lighter for when I'm working on smaller vehicles where they don't need the longer runtime of the Ego unit.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Před 5 měsíci +1

      It’s really good for the right spaces water likes to collect. I think you’ll end up using both for the most efficient process. I’m doing that right now big blower for the large area and this one for wheels and other areas. Of course it will do a whole car as well no problem.

    I love the new little brushless one i use it a ton as a mobile detailer, i got mine for 89 bucks. Its light and easy to handle, of course its not a powerful as the 730 or other big ones like the ego etc, but with a towel in one hand and little blower in the other i clear out nooks quick. Great comparison. I was looking at the 730 today at home depot cuz i have 40v batteries already...i should get it soon

      Been using the 730 for two years now and it’s is so versatile. Gets the leaves and the beads. 🤣 Plus it’s so quiet. I have the EGO 765 as well and about to do a comparison with the 730 soon.

    I just got mine, wow, love it. I bought the kit with charger and 4ah battery for 199$ CAD. Also bought a 2 pack of 4ah for another 98$ CAD. Very impressed with he power for such a small device. I only use it to dry out my car and it does an amazing job. The best thing about it, it's really light, your arms don't get tired at all and that's what I was looking for.

    One thing I'd like to throw out there regarding this blower. Seeings how this is part of the Ryobi One+ ecosystem I figured any Ryobi One+ battery should work. Well I was wrong when I bought my blower I also bought the 8AH One+ battery assuming I would get longer run time. While I'm pretty sure I would benefit from longer run time apparently the 8AH battery also provides added "power" so when you try and use the blower it runs for about 5 seconds but then just shuts off with this battery. So I would say if you buy this blower and want longer run time just make sure you have multiple 4AH batteries.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Před 6 měsíci +1

      That’s some good info. HP batteries do give more power. I have some 6AH and they worked fine, but normally I run 4AH just strictly for the weight and I keep an inventory if already charged ones and cycle them out. I usually have the opposite on my Ryobi there are some like the DA polisher that will not run more than a few seconds on the 2.5 AH battery and have to use the 4AH.

    • @mcham0846
      @mcham0846 Před 2 měsíci

      The 6AH is good but I run the 2 4AH battery method. I think the 8AH is has too much amps for the Blower probably? Safety feature is my guess

    Dude, u still have one of the best bloopers, love it! I dry my car w/the big boy blower u have but I use 7.5ah batteries and it gets heavy especially when doing the roof/trunk. Great review as always!

    Sadly Metrovac hasn't innovated their Sidekick blower using battery power so I've been waiting patiently for a product like this. I bought their 8HP blower a few years ago but having a corded unit was troublesome in my environment so I picked up an EGO blower. However, I would like a compact unit for drying crevices after rinseless washes inside the garage where the Metrovac unit can be cumbersome to use. When washing the summer car I prefer to make sure my black satin wheels get dried before water spots can happen and this Ryobi would be a great tool for that!

    Hello. I was wondering if someone could help me. I just picked one of these up and it doesn’t seem that powerful. Does the type of battery matter? I also got a 2 pack of 2AH 18V batteries but I’m wondering if 4AH batteries would make it more powerful? Is there a difference between 2AH and 4AH as far as power is concerned? Any help would be great, thanks.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Před 11 dny +1

      The high performance Ryobi batteries will work better and 4ah would most likely do a little better. This is the most powerful handheld out there, but it’s still only as strong as the weakest bigger leaf blower. Mainly for around the shop and works well in the nooks and seams of cars when drying. Can dry a whole car as well. Just not good for most yard work. Cleaning off a patio will work pretty good.

      @@CarsWithKeav Ok great thank you. Maybe I’ll try a better battery. I like the tool for sure and I think using it as you suggested, drying nooks and such, is probably best. I think I’ll still towel dry and then use this for spots the towel can’t really get to. Thanks for the response.

      I assume Ryobi is not carried in the UK? I’m not familiar with what is available to buy there. I do know you can get Bilt Hamber easily and at a good price. Here we have to import from Canada and pay a higher price until we get a distributor in the U.S.

      @@CarsWithKeavWe do actually have Ryobi.( I have a few of there things,there snail shop blower,tire inflator etc),but we don't seem to get, all models, they never seem to arrive on these Island shores 🥴. Good example, is there 12v battery jump starter, it's not available over here, oddly.

      @@DJJAW11 I wonder sometimes if it’s materials or things used due to import regulations and things like that. Same reason many things can’t come to the U.S. especially chemicals.

    With a fully charged battery, this lasts literally five minutes. It does a great job but I can usually only do 3/4 of my car with it. It’s been like this twice now.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Před 3 měsíci

      I think it depends on how much time you spend on areas I usually is my big blower and this on lug nuts and the areas that need a blast. I have done a whole car, but when I do I run the 6ah battery usually.

    Measuring dB with a phone is like measuring voltage with your tongue.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Před 3 měsíci

      You are probably right and I’m looking into getting a real db meter. I tend to go by what bothers me more and what is loud to my ears which sometimes seems to be the one with higher decibels. Say high pitch vs a deeper sound.

    • @amedsoprano
      @amedsoprano Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@CarsWithKeav sound is very tricky to measure because of the inverse square law and the fact that our perception of sound is logarithmic (every 3 dB the sound energy doubles). So the distance from the source is a crucial measurement too and the specific calibration of the microphone used, regularly dB meters are calibrated to be accurate at high loudness but suck at reading low level or quietness you need a specific dB meter for that, although some Fancy ones can work in orders of magnitude and will allow you to read both ends of the spectrum.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Před 3 měsíci

      @@amedsoprano I just picked up a calibrated one to use in future videos. I figure I should be okay as I'm usually in the 50db to 100db area I hear less than 30db is when you need a specific meter for that. Thanks for all the info it is very appreciated I love learning and then applying that to the next video. I for sure will do some kind of distance test with all of them and I would think the environment as impact such as a very high echo garage versus outside. Measuring a pressure washer at 2 feet to me is not the right distance I think 5 to 10 feet would be the normal working distance.

    • @amedsoprano
      @amedsoprano Před 3 měsíci

      @@CarsWithKeav as long as you do all your measurements in the same environment you should be Gucci. Ideally you want a room with as little echo as possible but standardized tests are just that, a standard environment for all test subjects. You could do an indoor vs outdoor test too because of the frequencies and harmonics you could produce destructive interference resulting in a decrease in overall loudness In confined spaces instead of gains. at the end of the day for leafblowers I'd say an arms length is a perfectly fine measument just pick different environments.
