      Hi guys
I went thru the truck extensively and couldn’t find it.
Hence the mention of having it resolved by the dealership.
If anybody is reading this comment and they’ve located the second battery, please post a reply below as it could help the world

Battery is behind rear driver side seat behind the black wall liner. If you have or had the infamous rear widow cracks water can get in and damage the battery causing electrical system malfunctions also the key fob control module is right next to battery causing issues with the key fob not working. The rear battery is covered under the power train warranty. The dealership has to reset/upgrade the battery software. I had same issue with my 2019 Rebel all started with those damn window cracks. If battery is damaged beyond repair they’ll replace under warranty costs about $1200.00 the OEM rear window $1250.00 with labor etc my insurance covered $800.00 of the $1250.00. Hope this info helps.

thanks for posting this sir....I have had three batteries go out and my 2019 ram laramie is in the dealership now. Tech was charging my battery and told me he'd need vehicle for 3 days and that the second battery located behind the back seat will need to be a part of the charging process also. I haven't looked behind the set for the etorque battery but i knew its behind there when i purchased the vehicle

Apparently, the second battery is located behind the back seat. The voltmeter in the dash in My truck started to act funny. It would fluctuate sometimes full, then 3/4 couple time zero check engine light came on, then it went off and one morning it started with hesitation then the battery indicator cam on, then check engine, the slip? light, airbag, ABS, and all followed then the whole dash went off my AC stopped, the window wouldn't work interior light wouldn't come on but the truck was running and could not put it in gear. shut off the truck then it wouldn't start. The battery shows weak. I don't think it is bad but like a truck with an alternator, it drained the battery. going to take the battery in to check first. Haven't fixed the truck to add anything useful to this.

From what I understand, the etorque ram 1500 still uses the standard 12v battery to initially crank the engine. the etorque generator charges the 48v battery stashed behind the rear seats since the 12v alternator is replaced with the etorque generator. and that etorque battery charges the traditional crank battery with a 12v step down converter. The 12v step down from the etorque battery also runs the accessories in the truck. I'm having an issue where my truck is occasionally reporting low voltage down to around 12v instead of a nominal 14v. It's also my understanding that the volt meter in the dash only reports the voltage from the 12v battery and not the etorque battery. Although my truck has no problems starting, driving, the only thing I get is the auto start/stop quits. (Which occurs by design if you are drawing too many amps , e.g. running A/C) I did get a check engine light at one point with a message about the auto start/stop but it had cleared before I was able to look into it. I also note that i was hearing a faint whine coming from the engine bay for a while only when braking (etorque charges during braking somehow from what I've read although i know it turns by a belt) but this is my first time with etorque I'm not sure if that's normal or not (sounded akin to the delorean from back to the future). I don't think i'm hearing that sound anymore. maybe had a bad bearing in the etorque generator, or maybe the etorque battery is bad. I'd also just recently installed an update that appeared on my uconnect radio. i'm not sure if that update tampers with the PCU or not but I had to wait a while for misc features to start working again after that update. I've read about people having problems being fixed with a PCU reflash. At any rate, I'm waiting for my RAM appointment. I have a HAM radio wired up to my truck. I tested with removing that to make sure it wasn't the culprit, but I guarantee the dealership is just going to point at that as the issue right away and cause some beef.

Crazy I'm having exact same problem as you but I have to wait 2 weeks for my appointment so I trickle charge my 12v battery every night since its not charging seems to be working for now for when I go back and fourth to work before I have to take it in. so frustrating.

UPDATE turns out the 48V battery behind rear seat was the problem and gonna replace it and was under warranty. mine is a 2022 dodge ram 1500 torque only 7k miles crazy now have to wait 2 weeks for them to get the battery. Not sure how battery went bad i don't have window crack leak. maybe just a bad battery? anyways just wanted to post this for anyone else who runs into this.

I would jump it and if your getting around 13 volts on voltage screen should be good than that tells you your 48v battery is charging is good but your 12 volt battery is probably the culprit. Its been a month now since I had my truck in the shop and still have not gotten it back from the dealer ofcourse i had to take it in when a strike was going on so annoying. @@sergiosanchez2161

@@2Point Not at all. I was a bit embarrassed for you in posting this. The info was literally on the window sticker when we purchased Etorque trucks. It's in the owners manual and brochure. I can understand some confusion on HOW the Etorque system charges the hybrid battery and then that battery inverter charges the engine battery but... you genuinely didn't know there was a battery behind the back seat? FYI, we also don't have alternators.
