my two cents about murakami: i didn't like "norwegian wood", but really enjoyed "kafka on the shore" and "the wind-up bird chronicles" a lot your tbr sounds interesting! don't forget to rest and relax this month too🌸✨
I have only read Kafka on the Shore and was really pulled in by the writing and the story. I hear Norwegian Wood is very popular in Japan from a person who lived there for many years but not so popular here. I bought the Wind up Chronicles and hope to get to soon. 😊
A recent thing I’m trying to do (for no real reason) is to pick up books that are similar in theme. So my comfort reads tend to be books written by women who write about women (including but not limited to the unhinged woman trope) and I picked up some titles I’ve had for ages. Here are two I read and really enjoyed: The Life of the Mind by Christine Smallwood (this is MY kind of unhinged woman book. I’m not a Moshfegh girly. I prefer this overwritten and intellectually snobby type of writing) and then read The Book of Mother by Voilaine Huisman. Now I’m reading The Quarry by Damon Galgut and hope to read The Island by Karen Jennings next because they’re both, again, thematically similar. Anyway, that’s my way of keeping my reading life exciting. Thought it might make for an interesting video concept esp if you read some popular titles alongside some relatively obscure ones ✌🏼

The rest and relaxation reminder is a must for me considering the week I’m having😭🫣❤️
All of those books sound good! Need to check out When We Lost Our Heads
I saw it randomly on a list from my library and was super intrigued!
I’m going to read Nightbitch in February too. I’ m so excited!!
The Water Dancer is amazing! I love anything by Coates.
Ahh so excited to pick it up but trying not to put too many expectations😬
Great video! I got so many recommendations. I'm reading The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien and The Fire Next Time by James Baldwin.
Want to pick up James Baldwin so badly! Hope you enjoy them!
water dancer is on my list for MUST READ 2023.
Same Same same (obviously) haha

Overly written and intellectually snobby is my jam😂
Good luck with your reading!
