Love this video! Favorite books of the year videos and posts are the best. I've read some of your top ten: Just Mercy, Seven Days in June, An American Marriage, maybe another one I can't remember. All of those are fantastic. I think you've pushed me over the edge and I'm going to commit to finally reading One Hundred Years of Solitude this year. I've been intimidated by it but I think it's time to do it. I generally have very similar opinions about books as you do. My favorites of the year were Crying in H Mart, You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty, There There, and A Little Life.

Do you know about Marquez' controversial "Memoirs of My Melancholy Whores"? If not you would hear about it eventually so it might as well be now! Let's just say it involves a 90 year-old man who's addicted to prostitutes and a 14 year-old girl with whom he's "in love." Marquez couldn't even make her 18. The wealthy doyens of the publishing world saw nothing wrong with this at the time they published it and thought it was "heartwarming" and "sweet."
