    Loving Garage Talks and the new Following! You convinced me to get a Following which I picked up just before Xmas and absolutely love it. Went for a red and black look on mine (would include a link to a pic of it but CZcams policy blocks it!) Keep up the great videos 👍

    So I have a super deluxe on my following and I have the rebound 6 out of 10 clicks in. After watching your video, I realized on my ride today that it did feel “lumpy” or kinda bouncy. 1 more click in and feels better and more planted. Thx man.

    Looking good... assume saddle position related to running the 140 vs. a 120/130 fork. Was going to recommend flipping to the Low setting with the longer fork but in your video it looks like it's already in Low (vs X-Low). One of these days I'll run into you out on the trails... or on the patio at Harry's next to Joyride.

    I'm going back and forth between a Wreckoning or Following dream build so it's nice to find videos on Evil bikes and as supply issues persist as well as price increases on Evil frames, it's difficult to find certain components to complete a build this season.

    Completely agree with you, thinking the same thing that’s why I feel like having a dedicated park bike is the way to go. Even a dual crown setup wreckoning, NP Giga or propain spindrift. Are you running an angleset? Does it wander on climbs with 140. Cheers buddy

    I like the race car vs. rally truck analogy. Glad you're willing to experiment because I had started thinking maybe the Offering was really similar to the Following just with a little more travel. Based on your comments I think I'd always be happier with the Following. I guess you pushed your saddle forward because the 140 Pike slackened your head & seat angle a little. Are you running the chip in low or x-low? Cheers 🍻

    Rode a v1 following... for the past year and a half been riding a v4 Tallboy. Though I think the tallboy has it's benefits (especially strait linein steeps), I miss my old following. Specifically more poppy, rails corners better and just a more engaging ride.

  • @timmyrogers7507
    @timmyrogers7507 Před 2 lety +2

    Really like your Chanel. Started watching because you had the Following…glad you’re back on it. Did you use an angleset or plan to try one? Does the 140mm fork slacken the head angle enough to not need the angleset?

    • @dustinbjohnson
      @dustinbjohnson  Před 2 lety +2

      Thanks dude! I believe the 140mm fork should kick this to about a 66.5* HA.. I'm going to try X-low mode and then we should be around a flat 66* which I think would be perfect without having to do an angle set

    • @geneyoon7499
      @geneyoon7499 Před 2 lety +1

      I kept the 130 pike but installed the 1 degree angleset. In the x-low position the HA is 65.4. This has been a game changer for me. So much more stable and confident over the drops and steeps.

    Hey, great videos. Curious of your thoughts on the 11-6 vs the air shock on the following. What's the biggest advantage and drawback of it on the following. What do you like best? You staying with the air shock or going back to 11-6? Thanks.

    • @dustinbjohnson
      @dustinbjohnson  Před rokem

      I really think the following needs the 11/6 coil. It really calms the bike down. The only drawback is the weight. And it doesn’t climb as fast as the air shock. But the air shock on the downs can just be a bit overwhelming at times. I have to run it full slow cause it can buck you at times. Once you learn it, it’s not a huge deal. But the coil is amazing and makes the bike feel bigger then it is…. In a good way. 🍻

  • @phantasma2323
    @phantasma2323 Před 2 lety +1

    Been following (pun) you for a while now. IMO Id stop looking at these big ass bikes, including the evo you just rode. Your trails are basically smooth, dare I say, doable with a gravel bike. Stick with your shorter travel bikes. If I rode what you have I would only ride bikes with less than 120 out back. Of course you, and others, can do as they like, just an observation. I ride steep, rocky stuff in the northeast with lots of climbing and undulations. A mid travel bike to deal with high speed repetitive hits works for me. 130-140 range seems to have worked best here. The 120s get bucked pretty good here. Riders vary in skill and can probably ride those just fine here but efficiency is only one part of the equation here. Capability is the other. Keep producing content you’re doing great. I told you you’d sell that pig! 😂 I had it too, fun bike but when I wanted to get serious it wanted to goof off and was lazy to move. I wonder when the v4 drops 🤔
