lol you're the only one that explains it thoroughly on CZcams, amazing job
LITERALLY!!
This is the best video I have seen for installing this type of floor. Awesome!
He's!!!He killed this!!thank u sir
Girl who does flooring ?
@@559kalifornia5 yes I’ve done my own flooring.

It's really helpful. Finally there's a video involving seam glue.
Definitely one of the best explained videos I've seen on CZcams. Thank you
I’ve never done this job but will be soon, I watched to see how to make a joint, I feel very confident I can do it now! Thanks for the step by step!
GREAT VIDEO! Was binge watching these types of videos because I am starting a flooring project and found yours the best! Thanks!
Great Video! Your delivery is easy to understand along with your step-by-step instructions and video. Appreciate this a lot and will be following your installation steps as I install my rolled vinyl for a bathroom!
Its funny when you go into the big box stores to purchase rolled linoleum, you ask them if you're going to need glue and they tell you yes, glue down any of your vinyl flooring. They do not share the fact that different manufacturers use different methods for their floor.
Excellent video.
Tip for beginners, use double sided masking tape to help hold the straight edge in place.
Also, don't move the straight edge if you don't have to, like he did on the first cut.
Hi Excellent tutorial video. We just had a vinyl sheet laid in our laundry room after it was damaged by water leak. The guy who laid it did not do the preparations like you did. Did not remove the old glue no sanding so the floor is rugged. even though I mentioned about the floor. No underlay was installed even it's in the contract. I saw him just applied glue and laid the carpet. No ruler either. in 20 minutes he was done. Put back the Washer/Dryer right away. Just few minutes after he left humps and depressions were all over.
We complained and 2 days later he wanted to rip the whole vinyl and move out the W/D. I told him no. Even the project manager agreed with him. We told the project manager that it could be seamed and we don't mind what's under the machines. He will send another guy who works on vinyl tile. I saw your video and maybe I will show this to the Project manager. Hope this will solve the problem.
Excellent video! Best one I've seen. Thank you.
This is the best video I have seen to date. Great job. You explained the process so well. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Most informative video that I've seen. Thanks.
Thanks so much! This makes it look far less daunting!
I'm doing this tomorrow, thanks brahhhh. I'm really glad I looked at this video for the wood filler part, I have a tiny gap that I wouldn't think it would show but youve made me want to buy it very badly before i do the linoleum.
How'd it go?
My new house has this type of floor in the kitchen, living room and bathroom. it looks nice.
Does it hold up well? I want to put some in my bedroom
Excellent video. Very value heavy content. Thank you
Perfect! Well explained.
Deserves a subscription, thank you
very informative for a first timer. thanks
In addition to doing everything very professionally, that roller really does the trick when smoothing it out. I'll have to find a place that rents those.
Thanks so much! Very helpful.
Very interesting informative video thanks. 👍
AMAZING good job
Great video and thanks for sharing!
Perfect dude!! Great job.
Thanks a lot!
Awesome video! Now I know how it's done!. You are very thorough. Thank you so much!
Excellent video 🎉🎉🎉
To roll the vinyl, I always cut the cardboard core (that it comes rolled up on) down to smaller length and just use my body weight to roll it out with that.
@bellinghamfpvI have a feeling you're joking, but for those that don't get the joke, I'm no physicist, but the rolling pin might not be enough leverage. With the cardboard core, they're probably 8 inches in diameter, so with my 240-pound frame, leaning on it will add considerably more pressure than if I used a rolling pin. The core also allows for longer, wider strokes of pressure. It will be hard to keep enough pressure on the rolling pin to get every inch of the floor. All physics aside, it's better than nothing. Although, you might be better off just taking small steps and walking all over the floor, allowing your entire body weight to do the work. HTH
@bellinghamfpv Come to think of it, we have a slightly bigger bathroom (4x7 maybe) and years ago when I put vinyl down, I didn't do anything, not even trowel. To this day you can see the bead of adhesive I put down, through the flooring. You can even feel it on your bare feet. I wish I had used a rolling pin. Anything would have helped, lol.
Very thorough
Thanks for the video
Love your work. Easy step by step video I've seen. Can I get the link to the video how to lay underlayment floor?
you are great!
Great Thanks
Thank you
Thumb up to you 👍👍
Omg ive spent 6 years useing a trowl. This is so much nicer. Abit more expensive but worth it.
woww want to come do my place haha
We just did this to our investment property floor. Same style
Great video! I have vinyl roll flooring that was purchased over 25 years ago. So I don't know what the manufacturer recommends for seams. I think it is paper backed. What would you suggest I use for seams?
Great video - unfortunately my bathroom "designer" didn't use damp cloth and wipe glue as he went - made absolute mess that looks like stretched chewing gum on a pavement..
Nice video. But why would you put glue over the tape, and not just pull the protective layer off the tape and press the vinyl onto it?
Do you have a video on installing baseboard?
Thank you so much for sharing this video this is so good is it necessary to add the underlayment if you are already on plywood flooring if it’s not like a major indentation underneath
Not necessary but the floor needs to be cleaned and possibly primed for adhesive to stick.
@@D.I.Y._All-in-One What do I buy to prime the floors a regular floor primer? Also what kind of brush did you used to roll the glue down
Just a regular floor pimer should work and I apply the adhesive with just a short nap roller
@@D.I.Y._All-in-One Thank you so much for this information I try to do this laminate flooring with a trial and oh my gosh it was such a mess....thank you so much
What are other suitable underlayments? My floor looks like cement. Has peeling a few layers. Some areas have some kind of primer sealer other areas have epoxy. Floor is not level. It slopes down. I do not have option to fix slope. On a very tight budget.. Need it to last 2 years.
C.L.S. All-IN-ONE (Or anyone who can help) Professional level video! Question please. I need to hang sheet vinyl on walls in a wet room (high humidity, very damp conditions). I have been unable to find much info on this.
I'm really confused about which adhesive would be best for this purpose. Any tips or suggestions? Thanks! Liked and Subscribed
I want to lay this in my basement laundry room. The house is 4 years old. The floor is concrete. Should I seal the concrete first? I am worried about the concrete absorbing the pressure sensitive glue.
Great video!
Primer / sealer can work good, but it doesn't necessarily need to be sealed, just extremely clean for the adhesive to bond good.
If it says "do not perimeter bond", does that mean to only use tape on all edges including any seems??
How much would this cost to install labor wise on a 1,500 sq ft home? More or less.
This helped me a lot thanks!
What type of underlayment do you recommend? I’ve been looking everywhere and can’t find one for vinyl flooring
www.menards.com/main/building-materials/panel-products/tile-backer-board/1-4-x-4-x-8-integraply-underlayment/1251910/p-1444441905352.htm
Is there anything that can be applied over the top of the vinyl sheet to help guard against scratching or scruffing up the surface?
Not really, about the only thing you can do, is use rugs/floor runners.
But if this is something you're looking to do just temporarily, there is self sticking clear sheeting that comes in rolls or paper sheeting that comes in rolls, that you can protect the floor for short periods of time.
Where's the video for the underlayment you mentioned?
Where I can I get some of that underlay
What is the manufacturer of the vinyl sheet you used in this video? Thanks
Hi there - how do I seam the vinyl if the length is too short? I’ve got a wood effect sheet but I’m not sure how to blend it with the “planks” being different lengths 🥴
You can do a staggered cut with the wood plank design, but that will require some very intricate cuts. Flooring with designs like that are usually seamed in the other direction.
I see that you are installing the sheet vinyl onto underlament. Have you ever installed sheet vinyl onto a subfloor?
Hi. Wats the flooring called that yur laying down & nailing bfor u lay the Shetty vinyl? That's wat I need to put on top of my carpet to make it firm & stable bfor putting down sheet vinyl
X2
Would you suggest an underlayment when installing vinyl sheet flooring on concrete?
No but if have uneven or cracked concrete you might need to use leveling compound to make floor surface smooth.
@@D.I.Y._All-in-One concrete is newer so it's in good shape. The reason I ask is I was recently renting a house before purchasing the one I'm finishing and they had used vinyl sheeting for the laundry room and I really liked it cause it was tough but somewhat soft. I asked the landlord and he said he installed a vinyl sheeting that already had a padding on it but the stuff I want to buy doesn't have a underlayment and is only 2mm but I would like a similar feel. Is it just something I am best getting over or is there a way to approach it?
I would try and find a thicker vinyl flooring around 3.5mm or more. There is also vinyl plank flooring which sometimes has padding/ underlayment built in, for another option.
@@D.I.Y._All-in-One awesome. Thanks for your time!
What was the brand and model number for the vinyl?
What did you put around the edges by the wall? Like where the flooring meets the wall?
The border is covered by baseboard.
I haven't seen a video about gluing vinyl flooring, yet.
I'm not a flooring expert and I would some cheap, paper thin garbage from Lowes. I got it down ok but ripped it when moving in my frig. I used two layers of cardboard. I have a better way to move it but my floor is hard and the adhesive seeped through and stained the surface..Wish I went a different route..
Try those plastic gliders next time, like Home Depot's Glide N Guard.
Can someone please say what materials and tools names used in this video.
What do I use if my floor peeled up quite a bit? Its not a clean surface…
Contact Adhesive you should have cleaned the flooring before you stuck the vinyl down.
What kind of underlayment did you use here ?
Looks like something called IntegraPly. I used Sureply, which is 1/4" thick. The markings showing where to staple are very helpful.
Can I glue this straight into osb?
If the floor surface is nice and even and clean, then yes. If there is wide cracks or seams they will have to be filled.
Think it last a long time?
15 year warranty. Id say so if done right.
do you need to use adhesive?
Check the manufacturer's instructions. With the one I'm about to put down (Mannington brand) it says you can loose-lay but only if there are no "pinch points." Unfortunately they were kind of vague, but I'm guessing that means anything heavy (bed, cabinets, fridge) or screwed down, like a toilet.
No mermolium?
iS THE mCCAULIFE ADD AIRBRUSED OR WHAT
Looks like a pain in the ass, laminate planks seems way easier
Laminate planks are more expensive and not as waterproof
