OMG , I never thought I could manage to do any flooring. I’ve done my kitchen and it looks amazing. Thank you very much ❤️❤️
Just plan out carefully and take your time before cutting. The old standby rule... Measure twice before cutting once. Count on some unexpected snags when doing the work, just simply count on it. It's rarely as smooth and clear a job as show by pros in videos, particularly for first timers.
Enjoy your new floor.
Oh, you've already done it. Never mind.
you comment on so many flooring videos. how many floors do you have???
Farideh Eidi is it expensive and where did you buy yours from
@@montag4516 Measure twice, cuss once?
Should I cut around the cat or wait until she moves?
Cut the cat
Make sure you have used a double sided tape to stick her bottom down and slowly you cut around her 😂
Pieter timmerman
If my cat does not like the flooring it ain't going down. Cat approved. Dog tested.

Thank you for the tips. Now I know how to go around a toilet, sink etc. Watching you cut the vinyl was very helpful. I like the caulking you used on the edges. I have seen too many floors laid without the caulking and yes, water does eventually get under the vinyl floor. :)
🧡
Blessed to find this video. My mother hired a shade tree person to do her bathroom floor. He put it off till later. Thanks to you I’m gonna do it myself.
Aww we're so glad you found it helpful! 😊 You can do it when you B&Q it! 🧡
How hard was it?
Had no idea about the tape. Will be buying me some and that spray. I am redoing my kitchen and i will be doing it myself. Wish me luck👌🏽
Break an egg!
Did you finish?
@@FIREcrochethairstyles he died
What tape?

Use a hook blade around pedestal, also when doing the small cuts use carpet scissors so much easier than going upwards with knife as in this demo.
You go downwards with knife
I like these kind of videos, informative and a good reference guide.thankyou.
I have no idea how I got here. Happy I did. This dude is super cute!!! And he's pretty proficient with his tools. I'd hire him!
Spray adhesive is messy and a pain in the arse to clean up. Use cardboard or scrap material to shield the wall while spraying. When using the adhesive tape alone, clean the surface with alcohol to ensure no oil or residue prevents a positive bond. When caulking for the first time, use painters tape to get a crisp clean edge. This step shouldn't be rushed as it is the finishing touch on your project. Tape the floor and wall 1/4" from the joint. As stated use a tool or wet finger to smooth out and push the caulk into the void. Try to do this along the edge in one stroke. Using a wet finger you'll have time to smooth it out completely. As you can clearly see in the video their caulking is terrible sloppy. No crisp, clean edges. It easy to see they rushed this vital and visible step. If color matching caulk isn't available, use a clear caulk for best results. When using clear caulk any jagged or slightly short cuts will be visible. As always use the proper caulk for the job. They're not all equal.
Always cut away from yourself. Ensure nobody is within an arm's length and a half to ensure any slip of your cutting doesn't result in the injury of another. I've seen first hand someone slipping and slicing the hand and arm of someone working next to them. There was a lot of blood, sixty stitches, scars all totalling over 14 inches, nerve damage, and two additional surgeries to fix tendons and ligaments. In total it took Janette over 18 months to recover most of the use of her hand. All because one individual was careless. That was over fifteen years ago. Janette never fully recovered. She is still coping with the permanent damage and physical scars.
Cheers from Seattle!!!
Thanks for the cheerful prognosis Dr Cameron.
Cracking good video thanks.
When your cutting around a sink/toilet, I found easier with a steel edge, such as that from a combination try square. Flat on the floor and pushed against the edge of the pedestal makes for a more accurate cutting of the slots. The try square, still pushed against the edge, makes for clean cut around the pedestal profile. I used a Stanley for cutting.
I find it easier to remove the sink and toilet. I also don't pay too much attention to the overall cut and just nail down some shoe to cover the edges.
@@marcusanderson6131Yep. That's the best way to do it
I had a wood look sheet vinyl installed in my kitchen, dinnet and laundry room, and my daughter told me it looked better than my 14 year old laminate
Thank you for this tuition. It was really thorough.
Thanks for the upload... I'm laying vinyl flooring in my kitchen... didn't know u need to leave it for 24 hours b4 gluing also using the spray glue and double sided tape together... thanks 👍
Thanks mate, I layed my toilet, bathroom/shower,kitchen,foyer,laundry and the dining room, best video to follow
He makes it look so easy...different when you come to do it yourself..
Wow this was so informative! Thanks.
Great video, Just what I needed to do my bathroom. Thanks for sharing.
That is total non sense to use it in the bathroom

Very nice! The double tape idea is awesome! I will do this this weekend; on my Sun Porch! Thanks for posting! 👍😀👍
Did you Do it?
+menina Yes, I did!! My nephew carried the vinyl, for me because, it was very heavy for me! In some areas; since it was measured perfectly, lays down flat! You may run out of tape! Don't panic because once you put the furniture on it, it looks simply beautiful! 👍⭐👍
Great video! Going to lay a checkered floor in my little vintage camper using your tips! XO
I did it...did it this morning...only took me about 1 hour...used your tips with the tape and bought the spray adhesive too! Thanks so much looks great!!!
I paid a guy £50 and saved all this work. Remember kids, like the philosopher once said "Can't someone else do it?"
Didn’t they end up moving the town 5 miles down the road?
You are amazing and love how you explained things, great job and thank you.
Thank you 😊🧡
One of the best DIY videos regarding Vinyl floor. Thank you.
Greetings from Portugal.
Thank you very much!! Excellent.
I've done my floor exactly like that without looking up how to do it!
It makes me feel good.
you should feel good, well done Ekaterina
love how you followed your own safert advice , always cut away from you , never leave the blade extracted
Safety first ✅
HI B AND Q THANK YOU SO MUCH I NEEDED THIS BEEN TRYING TO DO THIS FOR AGES 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
You're welcome! 😁
Thanks so much for a great video.
I was going to have a go at wooden floor but expensive and not my house but floor seriously needs tidying up! Bought a wood saw but I'm an accident waiting to happen so thinking if doing this. Looks probably easier than it is. Half of decorating is the prep! But looks like I'll go for it.. thanks for the tips ❤

Take toilet out, then screw back in
wow thank u for this informative vid; I was going to cover up old and dirty tiles that I tried using but I guess it is better to get that all cleaned up first, its a mess and I hate carpets; vinyl flooring looks gorgeous.
You're very welcome! We agree! Vinyl flooring is lovely 😍

At 4:12, you hold up a vinyl cutter. I have looked everywhere, including the B&Q site, and can find no such tool... What, exactly, is it called, and where can it be purchased?
Most excellent video...sense of achievement after getting it done. Watch the videos, and 'When you do it, B&Q it🤗🤗' 😎😎
Glad we could help! Thank you for your lovely feedback 😁🧡
👌👍 super you explain very smoothly and nicely thank you 🙏

Great vid. My issue is my linoleum has not been stored well. Now that I'm prefitting it there are many lumps. How do I go about getting it flattened out when I glue it down? Any help is appreciated..
Vinyl is KING !
😁👑
Can we have video for commercial vinyl sheeting please? Cannot find any training course in Sydney, thanks
Extremely helpful info. Thanks😍
You're welcome 🥰
Excellent tutorial .... respect from India
Been lying lino all my life, very good video I must emphasise the importance of the floor been clean and level, if not you have the problem when I first started of relaying it all again, anything will show up on the lino if it is not entirely clean dust and damp free.
😊
nice description.. specifically list of tools required is mentioned at end of the video.. 👍
Thanks so much for this video extremely helpful!!!🤩
Excellent thank you
yayyy! i was looking for an inexpensive way to do my floors!

hi are u put under RUG PAD (IM DO BESTMENT FLOOR ) my floor is wood.thank
very nice presentation.
They did a great job
Jolly good video... Govneer
thank you Senator
Fantastic job done
Thank you 🥰
Hey! Love your content ;)
Can Lino be placed on a tiled floor. What’s the best thing to do with cracked and broken, parts missing, of a tiled floor before placing the Lino flooring?
Can you install vinyl sheet flooring over top a floor that already has vinyl sheet flooring?
Great instructional video
Thank you! 😊
Do you happen to have a link to the vinyl cutter? Iv looked in your website but can't seem to find one.
Is the dampness test just needed so that at the time of installation the subfloor is dry, or is it necessary for the subfloor to by dry going forward after installation?
Both.
If you got wet floors there's probably an under lying problem
what is the spray you used under the tape, i can not find it in any shop, could you please give the name/
We have a Dyson vacuum cleaner which can suck the bark off a tree, I found that the previous vinyl sheet flooring layed was sucked up in the middle of the floor causing the vacuum to cut out, is it ok use spay adhesive all over the floor?
Very helpful video. I'm going to have to replace the vinyl laid down by my cowboy builder! I can only surmise he must have hand poor eyesight & measuring was not his forte ! Wish me luck 🤞
yup I had the same prob done by a carpet and flooring store!! This time I feel confident to do a proper job myself, wish me luck too!!
@V Good Luck ☘️
Question is it ok to insulate the floor before I drop the vinyl? my house needs insulation it's super cold. A lot of the cold comes from under the home. I will insulate under the home also. But is it ok?
you should put the products that you used below in the comments section. great video tho- best one i found on here.
Glad you liked the video! That's a good suggestion, we'll pass that along as feedback - thanks!
Watching again since I need to lay more sheet vinyl and I'd completely forgotten some of this info. I have since acquired a toilet jack so the toilet can be moved out of the way rather than cut around. I intend to caulk around the flange where it meets the sheet vinyl to make sure no water goes underneath. Instead of knee pads (which don't seem to fit me right) I'm going to use an anti-fatigue mat that can be moved around.
How did you get on? 😊🛠
@@bandq Still need to work on it. Have to pick up lumber on a day its not raining. I'll update after I work on it, but it's not high priority with all the other stuff we need to fix first.
that looks great
Could this method (double sided tape) be used if the subfloor is tiled with underfloor heating?
I wish you have a video of epoxy flooring...cause you have the best educational video I've seen... many thanks
I'm planning to,but all I see is commercialism. Not really DIY not like your videos... many thanks
So educational!!
What was on the floor before you laid the vinyl sheet? Was that the sub floor or was that an overlay?
Thankyou helpful as cheers
Does a small perimeter need to be left for any possible expansion for sheet vinyl?
Thank you for showing
You're welcome 😁
very nice , thank you
good Job. Thanks for sharing.
nice video
Thank you! Did one of my bedroom
Good job 👏
Good job thank-you
Watch out for that spray you might feel very happy after the job is finish
Great tutorial! And you probably get this a lot, but you are gorgeous!
Glad you found it helpful 😊
Should I use the same caulking around my toilet as I do the walls?
Really Good Work
Perfect thanks!
what s the best product to clean this thing. fast and effective.
How thick is the vinyl which is shown in this video?
Thank you very much
He makes it look so easy
what a great video !!~
Can’t wait to get mines , I wonder if we could quick shine/ polish these ?
bandq Thanks so much ❤️
좋은 정보 감사합니다
You're welcome 😊
Thanks very much for the great video! You demonstrated how to test the dampness issue, but did not elaborate on how to rectify it (in a DIY manner), if there was one. Could you elaborate on that, please?
@@bandq Thanks, Shaz!
Hi found your video very helpful just had a questions can all the materials like double tap and spray still be use on top on carpet ?
Hi, Jaquelin. Thanks for your query!
Unfortunetly no they cannot be used on top of carpet. The subfloor must be a levelled, hard surface that's clean and dust free. Hope this helps! 😊
Luar biasa rapi n tepat ukurannya thanks sahabat
Should I not pull up existing trim before laying floor?
Nice job
