      @@ivocont I don't do flooring, so I have no experience doing it. For someone like me who might want to try it, a little slower explanation would help. I'm just someone who watches CZcams. I think I've got most of it, but there were a few parts that left me with questions. More importantly, I think there would be _a lot_ of people who would be interested in it too and I think it would get a lot of views. Just look at the number of upvotes my comment got in only 7 hours.

      I have seen this method explained somewhere before and it's simpler than it looks I'm sure you can find a demonstration on CZcams. It's less intuitive than it looks and more systematic. I'm sure he's done it so many times it's completely automatic now. I want to try this myself!

      Was wondering how he’s getting it perfect every time the whole video.. I figured that he’s making only 45 degree cuts, so as long as the length of the longest edge is right, the piece will fit. The left over gap because of the 45 degree cut will remain consistent at 45 degrees, which means we can keep repeating the same technique. Very smart way of working.

    In America house designer will says "geez look at those cheap wooden floor on top of the tiles" i've been in flipping house for more than 10 years and this is a no go for american houses especially 2022. classic house use (real hardwood)but i still dont understand the concept of your video.       Probably would be almost impossible since hardwood usually has to be assembled together and not laid out flat and individually like this..

      @@sonofdavid904 the issue with hardwood is the need for expansion gaps, you can fit it like this as long as the click system or T&G allows it.
      Just remove and refit skirting boards to cover the gap, and it actually makes fitting easier because you don’t need mm perfect cuts

      @@ItZFlipz it took me a min but because the angle is always the same he only needs to mesure the two sides and cut at that angle (except for specific cuts for smaller pieces) so this makes it a lot easier then having to figure out the reverse angle on every piece.

    never laid laminate but I've done a lot of brick and tile work. That on the fly cutting was amazing. I love calculating angles and I know a lot of tricks, but you must know them ALL! That was impressive.

      He’s great at this! As a business owner who does all the sales, I can tell you that clients will not pay three times more for this though. You’re lucky to get them to pay 50% more for this, if they’re a good client. You just have to charge a high tile price to begin with. People hate to feel singled out

    He is really good - didn’t waste any boards, measured so it fits properly. I wonder how long the adhesive sticks for - I at first wondered when he did the whole room , and wasn’t stranded in the room - got to door.
    I see the most important was where he placed the first board, centred in the room.

      Every time you measure with a tape you introduce error. Direct measurement is best followed by a folding rule. A tape is accurate to 1/16th inch on an interior measurement and it takes TIME. On a square layout you can flip the planks ans cut along the already laid ones

    Amazing skills brother. I've never laid LVT (this is vinyl.......not laminate, laminate is not this flimsy and malleable), but your skills with vinyl laying is incredible. I love the net-almost-zero waste of your entire project here. Truly majestic looking!!!!

      It's not vinyl , it's one of the posh rubber options , that's why it won't move on tack coat

      @@peterherrington3300 To me it looked like actual pieces of veneer. Real wood cut into thin slices for gluing onto an uglier flat material.
      That same style of flooring can also be done with thicker sticks of wood resting on wooden planks that form lines under the ends of all the pieces. Additional support planks are needed at the edges of the room, but the stick length should be 1.41 times the distance between planks or it'll all fall down.
      Oh, and if he does the edge cuts at all 4 walls, it doesn't matter where he starts as long as he has something to stand on.

    When i was a teenager growing up in Korea, I felt America was better at everything. Then I grew up, and learned just how diligent and creative my people really are. I recently went back home to build a large deck. I team up with a local construction company and the guys just blew me away with their precision, intelligence and hard work! I imagine my father’s country America, use to be filled with people like this. People that would dress up even on their days off. I miss my beautiful people more n more as i get older…

    I saw this done once with TWO shades of (light and dark) flooring. The result was a mind bending jig-saw staggering 3-D illusion. Looked beyond fantastic. Nice to have square walls to work with and NO TOE-STOP to put back in. He is amazing. Also as mentioned the roller carts for your bum and rolling materials.

      @@recoveringsoul755 he first measures the max length by putting it on the side, then shortest length on the other side of the board by moving it to where it will end up. Then he makes a diagonal cut between max length and min length, which will first perfectly because the wall is straight.

      Why on earth would you need a measuring tape? Converting it to a system of measurement is a completely needless step and totally irrelevant. The measurement is literally right in front of your face on the floor. It doesn't need to be converted. That's far less accurate anyway.

    I love the herringbone pattern, but I am getting this done in solid wood planks, not in bendable tile. Not sure what that product is. But this pattern is beautiful!

    His technique is to create right triangles and repeat the process throughout. I never thought geometry was significant important until I saw his work. Amazing guy and work

    Seems weird to glue the entire floor at once. They must be using a much slower drying adhesive than I'm used to. Also nice work getting right up to the edges, but won't it eventually buckle when it expands near the areas where there isn't trim?

    The angle cuts on the edge pieces are great. It's one of those things that once you've seen it seems so obvious and simple; something I would've made far more complicated and difficult. Not that I'm going to be laying out any laminate flooring, but if I do for some reason, I'll have a better way of doing it.
