- Death Valley in the US is considered the hottest place on Earth and in the middle of a heatwave, temperatures are pushing 50C (120F).
The BBC's David Shukman decided to test whether the heat was intense enough to fry an egg, by just placing the pan on the ground in the middle of the day.
Man is worried about the wrong eggs
His eggs are going to be cooked in those jeans
😂😂😂
Hahahahahaaaaha funny
😂😂.... Take a bow for your creativity...
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Daaaaaam🤣🤣🤣🤣
its so hot that the quality of the video is low
no it is just a bad quality its 240p
Who knows
kinda reminds me san andreas
The video has low quality because this is old video and before there was no high quality videos then.
@@ValuableHistory hard to tell
"Hot enough to fry an egg" - butter doesn't fully dissolve, egg doesn't sizzle or do anything when cracked into the pan, comes back later, egg still not cooked.
hahahaha and he burns his hands again hauagaga so dumb
😀😀😀
Dissolves?
@@geo3106they mean melt
@@raspb3rryVR I know that was the point.
Why is this man wearing jeans when it's like a 125.6 degrees or something like that
Cus we English are fucking morons
U can die from the heat so u need sun protection
The worst thing you can do at 50°C is being naked. The best thing is wearing soft, white tissues. Have you ever noticed that bedouins are fully dressed while crossing the Sahara?
Heheeh say that to filipinos who wear jackets in the middle of the day
134 degrees
Hottest day
*wears a long sleeve shirt*
Spoonger Riley ph didn’t think bout t that
Bedouins in the desert are fully covered. At 50°C you can't be naked.
You'd be stupid not to wear a long sleeve shirt in an extremely hot area
Sunscreen won't help either
Are you stupid
Just by the graphics of the video, you can feel the heat.
Imagine a single country being home to Alaska where is it can be -60 and California where it can be 50. That has to be the great temperature difference in any continental nation.
-60 degrees to 58 degrees Dammm
Imagine living in alaska its only 2 celsius you travel to between nevada and California and its insanely hot about 51 degrees c
@@accelerationvirgulepetit that's like 120 degrees difference
@@accelerationvirgulepetit coldest to hottest of
@@accelerationvirgulepetit coldest of Alaska is 62 and hottest of California is 60 that's 122 degrees Celsius different
Every time he touches that hot pan 🤣
What are you 12?
AHH
@@geronimomajinbro oh yeah yeah
"Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me"
just pour egg on a stone
This prick added butter. Enough said really
@Jotaro Kujo if the rock is really clean it can be good
This dude has the towel and keeps forgetting to use it.
“I’m not giving you the numbers in Fahrenheit because I don’t quite get them”
he’s right and he should say it
Yeah it’s fair for someone to not u ser stand the other measurement, so idk why everyone gets mad at me when I don’t use Celsius because I don’t have any reason to ever use it
Spoken like a true American. Everyone else uses Celcius. Only US has to be different.
Where i'm from during the summer you can actually see the egg frying once you break it, you don't wait for it to get heated, it just gets fried in a second.
Well thats weird because if i fry an egg it does not fry intsaly
Death valley is the 3rd hottest place in the world and the second hottest is an active war zone. So either you live in Dubai or you're full of shit.
@@justintyme4690 considering his name is abdelheq, he could possibly be from Dubai.
@@justintyme4690 Death Valley holds the The current official highest registered air temperature record (56.7 °C)
@@vectro4284no it dont, lut desert, Iran does
this is gordon ramsay if he is bored
I can feel the heat and the egg scent here😂😂
"It's 52C" *wears pants*
He just didn't do it right. I live in denver and on a day when it was a mere 101 degrees Fahrenheit (hot for denver but nothing compared to death valley) I was able to fry an egg using a cast iron skillet as well as multiple mirrors reflecting onto it. If you put a lid on your pan as well, you can get the it as well as the air inside easily over 100c and thus frying your egg by
Or you just lay the egg on a rock.
Pretty nasty If you gonna eat it, but cool experiment
Wow and you were at a lower atmospheric pressure.
Say that in Celsius instead of outdated fahrenheit please
Camera Man-Come on Let's get the Hell out of this Hell
Its hot enough to fry an egg on the street in las vegas
You're supposed to place the egg on the ground, more correctly asphalt. Not on a pan you just brought. You could also leave the pan on the ground for an hour, and then place the egg on it, and you'll see the magic.
Certainly looks over 50C out there, can’t believe there is any wildlife or plants at all with temperatures that high. Truly a hostile place on the summer.
I think he should fry the egg on the handle instead of the flat surface of the pan.
Notices handle is unbearable to touch
Continues to touch handle
*reporting at its finest ladies and gentlemen*
Mix some of the hot sand together and the pan increases in heat
Lol
Yes right, let 2 hours a coin or keys inside your car and you see what means HOT
Imagine wearing 3 jackets and a beanie and a helmet and standing there for 2 hours
Probably
Ok?
Death in death valley
Nothing will happen u will just not make ur skin burn only bad thing is it gonna get alot of sweat leading to dehydration and dying in bad sweat smell
You won't die you'll get alot sweaty
Damn, I remember watching this video after finishing my HSC in 2013.
I literally felt so free.
Now I'm working full time...

California can get as hot as 130 in the summer while Alaska can get as cold as -80 in the winter
How does it feel like in that heat
I love how he refused to use Fahrenheit
Yep, he used celsius like every other country in the world. You always gotta be the odd one out ;)
Why he has to use Fahrenheit?
Only America doesn't use metric rest of the world uses Metric.
He doesn't want to say it in Fahrenheit just for one country people
@@savitar8002 that's why i was praising him for it.
I hope he gave it to the coyote imagine living there ☄️💥🔥
why specifically coyote though?
@@darklord711 1:24 A coyote tried to eat the egg
@@andrewt3417 oh now I noticed
Still alive admin?
If the temperature is too, you can save a huge lot of money on cooking gas 😂😂😂
Its an Indian jugad😂😂😂😂
i know its not even that hot bc title says death valley but this man hasnt even died so..
After 7 years
The video is lightly fried
To arrive at farenheit you multiply celcius by 2 and then add 30
I conducted a comparable experiment in Nicaragua, the temperature ranged from 90 to 100 degrees Celsius. I cooked an egg in 10 minutes.
The main error was - putting a butter in the pan..
The man is brave
How man can survive like that?
The butter cooled the pan
Antartica: understandable have a nice day
The key is leaving the pan under the sun for a while
Funny enough. Someone cooked an egg near me as soon as he came back to check his egg.
Nice chef
How is my man wearing trousers and long sleeve shirt
I used a black stone when I tried it back in 04. It worked
I'm from MN.The winter time -25F and the summer time 85F to 100F
Wow Amazing
Dang the cameraman is filming him out in the desert and the egg melting in the sun
Where I'm from, if you drop an egg it will start cooking lol. Maybe not as fast as a stovetop but definitely faster than the one in this video.
I want to go back there’s
50c is our daily summer tumpretur in Oman
Maybe 10 years old but 4k cameras came out in 2003
Put the pan on the bonnet of your car in the sun then it’ll cook
Could have maybe worked if he didn't lose half of the pan's heat right before trying to melt that butter.. Leave it on the hot stones, maybe next time get a flatter surface so more heat is going to the pan.
I love how after this video just appeared me "the coldest place in the world" XD
He messed up and put egg in a pan that was in the car and only in heat for 30 minutes instead of the ground thats been there all day.
The pan needs to sit there for 30 min. Use oil instead of butter. The egg would be cooked in 5 min or less
Lol it takes skills to use sun heat to cook. 1st let the pan sit under the sun for couple hours. The butter will sizzle immediately and burn if you don't Crack the egg and place it on the pan immediately. Within a minute the egg is ready. Done it many times. Not in Death valley but many places in California where summer heat can exceed 115F. Lived in Fresno for 10 years. Part of summer fun was to cook eggs and thin slices of beef using sun heat and cast iron pans. You can actually burn your eggs and slices of ham if you leave the cast iron out there too long.
It is also the place where we can see the Milky way at night
Amazing
coldest day in the Philippines
Could have left the egg behind for the hungry coyote
me and my brother cooked a hamburger on our roof in utah when we were kids. I dont doubt that you can cook an egg in the hottest place in the world,
The video could have been in a little worse quality.
Hot enough to fry an egg
lol i am at a city where its 49 degrees right now
@@jamesplaysdrums6777 lol is there a witch city there XD
Coolili Kid I changed it
Australia 100%
Nice sir
um i can see" veryyyy hottt pennnn" but can't even melt a piece of butter.
I’m glad the guy figured out eventually how to use the towel he already had. Yes getting your hand burned by holding a hot skillet’s handle is never a good experience specially if it can be easily preventable by hinging a towel or something….Lol.
52 celsius and he is wearing long trousers ahah where are you coming from man, from the sun? Ajaja
You can eat a raw egg.
I was eggcited to see this
nice
I think he should have stayed out there for another hour for his breakfast
You must be living near the equator where it’s always hot and warm
No it's south California
I bet that egg would have cooked if the eggs were cold when dropped
Lpg rates hike brought me here
It was doomed as soon as the butter didn’t melt
The egg is hard boiled already!
In north african sahara you need only few minutes
Bro is panting for breath 🤣🤣
Should have put the egg on the handle as that seemed hotter than the inside of the pan
Many other cities of the Globe are extremely hot.
my phone is overheating
in Mexicali B.C. México....you just need 10 seconds in august.
In India of rajasthan also reach 52°C in summer
Death valley's highest temperature is 56 degrees
Go on summer
Booooo, let the coyote have it
thanks for the heads up im never visiting califonia! all it takes is 20c and im crying! 52c nah mate im already dead!
We Indians cry at 20 c too but the other way round, due to cold.
In winter when it's 17 c ,I wear atleast 3 sweaters and Warners beneath my jeans
Summer here is 42c but for me 33c is the most pleasant weather
I live very close to death Valley by the way
you know, if your experiment doesnt work, dont bother broadcasting it. what a waste of 2 mins 14 seconds.
He was tired of people using the phrase “hot enough to fry an egg” and wanted to lay it to rest
how the hell is he in 120 degrees Fahrenheit wearing pants i cant even go out in 80 degrees wearing light clothing
While it's burning hot temperature but butter is still frozen 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It is very hot!! But still colder than a Volcano where it averages 1000 C
bro who tf is living in a volcano
🌷FUN EXPERIMENT
AMAZING
SADDLES ARE BLAZING🌷
Imagine wearing pants at that degrees that’s insane
