  • wild camping in a Yorkshire valley next to a beck.this was all about LAVVU camping with friends. I got to test my new Tent stove and learned a new sport (fly fishing)
    We compared stoves, cooked some awesome food, and had a relaxing time with some beautiful sunsets.
    It was all about getting together and wild camping with not one but three Lavvu’s.Testing the stoves and how efficient they were, gray and I had a chat about some new designs.
    I found great fuel for the log stove that burned cleaner and for longer.
    Mostly I enjoyed wild camping with good friends. The beck was cold but the water was inviting and at one point I had to take a swim . Alan and Stan climbed up to the cairn and took some amazing photos. Akan is new to wild camping so being his first Lavvu camp he was exited and overwhelmed.
    It was mostly canvas tents but we made a tarp tent for Stan has he did not have a Lavvu. We used a 3x3 olive green DD tarp and soon he had his own shelter to content with. This camping spot in a Yorkshire valley is a windy one and the tents all stood up to the weather. The Lavvu is awesome in the wind, it makes no noise and no movement at all. The tent stove with the warming tray proved to be a awesome addition and fir sure a good bit of kit for winter camping.

    My late grandfather was a trout magnet, I wish I'd managed to go fly fishing with him.

      Paul was teaching me the ropes here, but I fully enjoyed it. I’ll have to wait for a Wales or Scotland trip and have a good go at fly fishing.

    What a great video, thinking of getting a LAVVU and making a stove for winter adventures, a small BBQ roundish gas bottle with legs is my idea?

    • @BeeOutdoors
      @BeeOutdoors  Před 3 lety

      Yea I been thinking about this for a long time and actually got myself a empty commercial fire extinguisher, smaller then any gas bottle and I think it’s the perfect size 😁
      The Lavvu is the best thing I could have got and the stove, well it’s a perfect Lavvu partner.
      Thanks for the view and comment and let me know how you get on.

      Bee Outdoors will do, it’s a 15L round bottle that my parents got from Spain so can’t be filled in the UK, I’ll send a pic when it’s done.

  • @paulsoutdooradventures1790

    Awesome really really would love a stove for my lavvu wish I had the kit to make one for myself awesome video though mate camp looked awesome and the food at camp fire. Commune awesome 👏 the fire logs are great things and work great I’m sure a whole log burns for up to 6/8 hours depending wind conditions. But obviously I dnt have a stove so I couldn’t say on that burn time in a log thankyou for shareing

    Wow-what a place it is beautiful is it a park? or privet land and I see across the stream paddocks. Oh how horrid to have that music at all hours I would rather the stream talk to me. ALso will you share your receipt for the Scots eggs? Tell your friend that were we live in New York is the birthplace of fly fishing the Catskill mountains and in the Schoharie river. I just love to watch a fly fisherman cast they make the line fly and sail through the air before it hits the water.

      Sara Skold thank you, it’s a piece of public land just on the side of the steam we camped on. The scotch eggs are so simple to make. Rule of thumb 1and half sausage will cover the egg. Skin the sausage, combine the meats bud flatten, place the egg in the Midle and wrap the sausage meet around the egg until even. Dip in beaten egg and cover in flour, back in the egg and cover in bread crumbs. Fry until golden brown. Oh, Did I forget! Add spices of your choice to sausage meat, the flour and bread crumbs. Enjoy ❤️

    • @BeeOutdoors
      @BeeOutdoors  Před 3 lety

      Which one the scotch eggs or the Sauté potatoes? 😁

  • @sierrasurvivaladventures

    Are you using sausage meat to make the scotch eggs and my other question is can you use mince meat as I cant get sausage here?

    • @BeeOutdoors
      @BeeOutdoors  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes and I suppose you can, just add a beaten egg as a binding agent but not too much that your meat becomes too soft and pulpy
