- The latest rumor around the Universal Orlando Resort suggests that Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit will permanently close sometime in 2025. This rollercoaster at Universal Studios Florida is getting older, and is not very popular with guests, which means its final days could be near. Let’s take a look at several recent changes that point towards this rumor being true.

These news channels act like roller coasters getting stuck is the most dangerous thing in the world 😭
You right but that ride get stuck a lot n plus it sucks bad
Not popular?? Theres a 2 hour line every time a go through out the day also i heard they added songs a couple days ago? How can they go from 30 to 5?? 🤨
velicicoaster is better lol
@@GreenYoshi3881 Never said it wasn't 😂 wdym?
I went last month and literally the only waiting I did was walking to the loading dock lol
when i go its usually 20m waitt
They should retrack the ride and retheme it to Universal Music Group
And to add on to that, update the music selection to more recent hits, and hell, why not songs like Sugar by Maroon 5, or more Daft Punk?
@@theaveragejuel I agree. Maybe the lines of Modern day songs. I would enjoy listening to The Weeknd or Twenty one pilots on the ride
retrack? or remake it entireley with a different ride manafacturer
That's what I meant, Maybe hire intamin to make a redesigned Rip Ride Rockit
@@Star_Floofer_Uni seems like a good choice, or they could do something like a b&m hyper
The ride needs a new track refurbishment just like hulk did
Kermit the Frog singing to me on a roller coaster?! 😂😂😂
All they need to do is Re track it.
No, the problems are far deeper...
This Coaster Is One of the most Underrated coaster ever! It has great Airtime, The Block Breaks Barley slow it down, its smooth, and you get to listen to music on the ride. I seriously don't get the hate for this ride!
People always complain about... Well... Everything!, oh the seats are unconfortable, oh the ride is rough, oh this and oh that... Its barely a 1 minute and a half ride, Im sure you can survive for that long while at the same time having a really good time, cause if theres something NOBODY can debate, is that this ride is fun!
@@rogerayala6878 yeah, but complaining about a painful experience is justified. Ride it all the times. If I don't brace myself properly, it will give me a huge migraine. Makes me second guess myself if I should ride it or not most of the time. Its the only rollercoaster that's not a dark ride on the studio side. and it has nice air time. But I understand why people don't like it. My wife liked it in her 20's but not so mush in her 30's. So i don't know.
@@zandresteven7983 yeah I think thats the thing with this ride, you really gotta brace yourself and keep your head firmly on on the back!... If you dont it can be rough!... Same thing happened to me on Velocicoaster, I was literally, half body to the side of the train car and the thing goes so fast and turns so much you dont have time to fix yourself... I ended up with a really bad pain on the ribs area!
I got in in a posted 45 minute wait line, and ended up walking out of the line after two hours of the ride constantly breaking down. This past October, this was the theme of my entire vacation at Universal; waiting in line for hours for rides that shut down. Very frustrated and disappointed with Universal recently.
I don't like how everyone says it's rough it is not I rode it twice in 2021 and it was smooth like butter.
it strictly depends on where you sit and different whether, this ride is pretty much rough in most circumstances
I hope that it stays open if it closes everyone who likes the ride will be sad including me good luck rip ride rockit
When they took away “kickstart my heart”, the ride died to me…. Really hope they will make a solid replacement coaster in its place. Not a baby coaster, or a 3d sim.
how is it not popular? There is a long line for this ride and lots of people go on it.
It’s a long line because of the low capacity
They should put an Mack striker coaster with music features to keep the charm
They working with mack rides on 3 attractions at epic universe and were considering a mack extreme spinner for curse of the wearwolf but chose a the more tame version. I wonder if they already done deal with mack for an extreme spinner at studios to replace either rip ride rock or replace fast and furious as that is also rumored to be replaced with a coaster.
I wish they'd keep it regardless. You can't get a roller coaster with music on it anywhere else.
What about the Hollywood Dream roller coaster in Universal Studios Japan?
@@user-li8uk7bc5g Well not here the United States.
@@sonyretroradiofan177 Fair point
Personally I would love to see this get replaced by either the secret life of pets ride that’s in Hollywood or the fast and furious roller coaster that’s coming to Hollywood
There’s practically no space for a ride like SLOP lol
Rip ride rocket don’t need to close
Hey there! So, I used to really enjoy this ride, you know? It was all smooth sailing, and I had a blast every time I hopped on. But lately, it's been a bit of a headache, I gotta be honest. It's like the tracks are in need of some serious refurbishment or something. Maybe they could even consider replacing it with a cool hybrid roller coaster like the Velociciaster. Just a thought.
I rode it in September, it was the only attraction during my visit to Florida I did not get multiple rides on, it was just so rough. It's a pity because it's a fun layout and the ride does have its fans. Just not for me.
I love me a good rollercoaster but this one really hurt my neck. Stopped riding it.
Me too I thought I was the only one. After this ride I had the worst headache and body aches I couldn’t get on any rides afterwards.
That ride sure hurt me
It’s been almost 15 years
Oh well it’s not that fun and gave me the worst headache and body aches that I was done for the rest of the day. I also felt like Inwas going to fly out of this ride. The velocicoaster and Hagrid ride were more intense and I didn’t experience any problems after those rides. I will never ride it again.
a true fan favorite, nah sayers can go back to freaken Disney
the thumbnail tho
Not rip rocket I wanted to ride it real bad 😭😭😭
I mean if its hard to maintain and there are so any issues then yeah they should shut it down. They can always do something similar to what Busch Gardens Tampa did with Gwhazi.
They should get a Gerstlaurer to replace it.
Retrack and retheme it because it occupies a weird space in the park. The ride is rough and not up to Universals standards especially if the want to be the top dog in Orlando.
It might be because of the minion land that was taken over in the front area of the park I'm guessing there going to remake this roller coaster into a minions roller coaster from despicable me 1 I'm guessing
Was broken down the 2 days we went
Wow 2 days its definitely closing!!!!
The 5 songs is true, I went last week, and rip ride got stuck at the top and no one cared
I go every other weekend and RRR and The Hulk coaster are the worst rides that beat you up so bad that they are not fun anymore. Sad thing is they just retracked Hulk and it didn't make it smother at all.
Both are fine to me, The mummy is more rough than both imo but to each their own
@Chocokaylarobin Yeah the mummy is pretty bumpy. The Hulk head restraint is bad on my head because I'm at that not so "sweet" spot that my head bangs side to side against it. Feels like I'm the ball in a pin ball machine.🤭🤭 I still ride though. I can't do RRR anymore. That whipping it does right after the loop just hurts my neck too much. ❤️
If you ever wanna take down a ride get rid of Fast and Furious and replace it with something fun please.
They should ditch F&F and put in an updated Jaws attraction. The classics have staying power, but nobody is going to remember all the 4D bs screen rides with the shaky cars. It's fine if there was one ride like that, but not 50% of the whole park!
@@bb5242 Its crazy bc King Kong is basically the same simulation but done WAY better. How does universal go from Harry Potter or Jaws which is fun but takes 200 steps back with F&F 🙄 get it outta here
My first time I went to universal I wanted to ride every coaster, my first time riding a lap bar and never again, I was so damn scared I couldn’t pick a song, this is why I will never ride velicoaster because it’s a lap bar.
No not a lap bar. its a leg bar. Pins you into the seat and once you get locked in you feel very secure.
@@zandresteven7983 lap bar leg bar whatever, it didn’t go over my chest, that’s how I feel safe going upside down
@@Lorena-OT7
I mean, I get that you're scared. But, you're not going to fly out of the car.....Ever.
Velocicoaster is cutting edge, it was an amazing ride. I was not a fan of Islands of Adventure until I went on it a couple weeks back during spring break. Amazing ride. We didn't get to try Rip Ride Rocket the next day because of high winds and rain, we got screwed on that one. If the park had stayed open until 9 or 10 it would have been open, but no, 8pm!
@@Lorena-OT7 Well if it helps its like Hagrid's for comparison.
Perspective:
RRR, 45 million $
Fury 325, 30 million$
RRR: Has theming with music selection
Fury 325: Large coaster plopped in the middle of nowhere
@@pithaywood I was simply referring to the quality of the experience. Which is not really comparable imho.
no truth to this rumor that started on reddit whatsoever highydoubt its closing
They are definitely never closing down Rip Ride Rockit it's far too popular. It is just a rumor, and Universal Studios Orlando doesn't look very "good" without the coaster when you first enter the park, it messes up the presentation and Universal also lacks coasters, something Islands of adventure has.
The ride is a maintenance nightmare. They likely will replace it with something far more reliable from B&M or Intamin. This thing is rough and just not a good ride anymore.
@@FlyRick78agreed. My girlfriend and I went back in late February and we just went on to say we did. We got off the ride remembering why we disliked the ride lol
Ppl also said iOa would never remove dueling dragons but they did and that was a far superior ride in every way possible. I look for a ride with a similar support structure to replace it. Maybe a vekoma or intamin. Although I’d love to see an invert back on this property especially since no Orlando park has an inversion based invert now.
They absolutely need to replace this ride. It is nowhere near Universal caliber. Its capacity is literally the only thing that doesn’t suck. But how it achieves that cancels that out.
@@jarrodholbrook6176 a vakoma would be great however they have a great relationship with B&M and Intamin so they might go with those two once again.
Eltoro ryan did this
lmao
I'd rather Fast and Furious than Rip Ride Rocket.
Saying Fast and Furious over Rip Ride is ridiculous 😂 If any ride should be taken down its Fast and Furious. Its a good place to go if you want a place to cool down but other than that just ride King Kong it's less underwhelming
